Layered paper and beautiful watercolors, courtesy of the artistry of my mother-in-law Sherry, make for a striking cross magnet. I sawed it out of solid white oak then Noelle took her mom's artwork and decoupaged it. The cross measures about 5.6" tall, 3.9" wide and is nearly 1/2" thick. A 3/4" beveled-edge ceramic magnet with plenty of holding power has been recessed into the back and securely cemented in place. All of our items are sawn from solid hardwoods for beauty and durability using a Wen scroll saw. Absolutely no softwoods or plywood are used. Each item was sawn in as much detail as possible. All of our items have been crafted one at a time in either our former workshop in Charleston, West Virginia or our current workshop in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania.

Today I would like to share 3 Prima Doll armoires that I made. I made these for a swap over at MAS. When I saw these armoires I knew I had to make some of my own! I really love making tags and scrapbook pages with the Prima dolls - but now that I know how to make these armoires, I think this will be my new favorite way to display my paper dolls. I decided to make them all the same - in terms of doll stamp used and the doll accessories. However, I couldn't decide on which patterned card stock to use so I made the actual armoires all out of a different pattern. PRODUCTS USED: Stamps: Julie Nuting Prima Doll stamp Peasant Dress MCT Fun Tickets Dies: MCT Stitched Fun Tickets Paper: My Mind's Eye - Be Loved & Alphabet Soup Echo Park - Yours Truly Hot Off The Press - Hearts Red Holographic K&Company - Valentine Die-Cut Cardmaking Kit Prima/Julie Nutting - Buff paper pad (for doll base) Core'dinations Glitter Silk - Red Flash Core'dinations - Black Cat, Vanilla Cream, & Heartthrob Misc: Tim Holtz Mirror Sheets brads, ribbon and stickers from my stash The link for the armoire tutorial is here. I also added an a-frame to the back of each armoire - to help it stand up. The video for that can be found here. The instructions for the a-frame start at @ 3:26. I really enjoyed making these! I hope you like them as well. I am entering them in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes. You can check the challenge out here . Thanks for stopping by! Keysha
A hand carved and hand printed Lino print of three lapwings that I saw in Shetland. This is my own unique design and I printed it in my studio in East Lothian. The edition is printed on Somerset paper which is made using sustainably sourced cotton. It comes wrapped in compostable cellophane and has a card backing to keep it from bending. I’ve called it ‘Peerie Tieves’ Nackets’ which means ‘Little Lapwings’ in the Shetland dialect. This is a limited edition of 10 prints and each print is individually numbered and signed. The image size is 21cm x 30cm.
When Lance saw this album he called it my "super album'. Yup - it's a big one! I tried to edit it down (and did take out a few photos), but decided I really liked everything that was in it. It's still manageable to flip through and will be easy...
I saw a similar project to this online and decided it would be a successful project for my fifth graders. They had to use a cool color on their hands and a warm color on their background. This project went pretty quickly and was a good first project that everyone was successful with. It was a great reminder about overlapping, as well. They loved looking at different examples of optical illusions each week and I shared some of M.C. Escher's work too.
