Hello there! I wanted to share my card for the new challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments. This week it's all about keeping it Monochromatic on your projects. Such a fun challenge! The details are listed in the photo below. We sure hope you will join us! :) For my card, I went with a color that I never seem to use a lot of, Perfect Plum. Yes, this card also marks the return of the infamous Button Buddies stamp set. Surprise! Looks like I'm back on the kick again...this is truly my most used stamp set from the new SU! catalog, I tell ya. My image was stamped in Perfect Plum Craft ink and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I also dressed up the button with a blinged-out center. I also realize that my gratuitous use of bling comes as no surprise to anyone. *wink, wink* I thought the "You're a Gem" sentiment, from the stamp set of the same name, fit perfectly for this pretty purple thank you card. I added one more button to the bow, for fun. I hope you like it! It has been a while since I've posted - just over a month. Things got busy just before Father's Day. I moved my crafting stuff down to the basement so my supplies would be out of the way when we had the family over for Father's Day. I needed to re-arrange the kids' playroom before I could set up my work area, so I only had time to finish off the cards for school. The teacher I gave the 'thank you' card set to really liked them. :) When the online card class started on July 9th, I had my work area mostly set up, but I had to focus on making some family birthday cards. Now that all of that is over, I can start posting a few of the cards/sets I made over the last week. The first post is for the Hero Arts July Contest - Paper Flowers. Shari Carroll has a video (here) that shows how she made some cute flowers. I used Martha Stewart glitter embossing powder to give them some sparkle. One of the best things about being a demonstrator is getting access to special demonstrator-only materials. Each month we get an amazing magazine in the mail, Stampin' Success, which is filled with ideas for workshops and classes. We also get a special invitation to join a demonstrator website, Stampin' Connection. On this site, you can chat with other demonstrators and view thousands of samples posted by demonstrators. I have gotten so many ideas from demonstrators, and found a caterpillar idea from the wonderfully talented Lynn Pratt that worked perfectly with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week. I don't know about you, but I have thousands of minuscule scraps of designer paper lying around my craft room. I have a problem with getting rid of them because I might need them sometime! Well, this was the perfect project to use some of them up!  Once I got the idea in my head, this card came together SOOOO quickly! If you have kids who like to scrap along with you, like my daughter that is 8, this would be a great sample for them to recreate!
