Sleaford Mods have released a cover of Pet Shop Boys’ “West End Girls.” It’ll be released as a limited-edition single that will be available next month, with a Pet Shop Boys remix of the Sleaford Mods cover on the B-side. Proceeds from the single will go to Shelter. “‘West End Girls’ is a song that’s very close to my heart, my coming-of-age track in so many ways,” Andrew Fearn said of the duo’s decision to cover the song. Jason Williamson added: I’ve been listening to the Pet Shop Boys’ albums Please and Actually a lot, the music still fits this landscape so well. When Andrew suggested we cover ‘West End Girls,’ it was important to honour the track’s brilliance. The Smiths - "Strangeways, Here We Come" comes in good used condition with some light surface scratches/scuffs and slightly deeper ones, as shown in the photos. It has been tested and plays fine with some crackling which is common with an vinyl of this age. This is a super-rare version, released with ocean green tinted embossed titles on the front sleeve. Please note the outer sleeve has wear with a 3" seam split at the centre of one side, a nearly 2" seam split at the top centre, spine/corner/edge wear, creasing, impressions from the record and surface scuffs/scratches/marks. Printed with '1987 Rough Trade Records Ltd.', '1987 Warner Bros. Music Ltd.' and 'Made in England' on the record label. Inner sleeve has a 3" seam split at the centre of both sides, sellotape along the bottom edge (to repair another seam split in the centre), some creasing, impressions from the record and corner/edge wear.
