Flickr user Mr Brick Label says he’s been collecting firecracker and firework labels since 1968. He writes, “I buy, sell and trade firecracker labels.” I’ve never really studied a firecracker label before, I had no idea how much work and creativity goes into designing a package for something you’re just going to blow up anyway. Here are a few choice picks from Mr Brick Label‘s never-ending collection. Via Nerdcore

This listing is for an 8.5 x 11" digital collage sheet with 12 2" squares featuring antique firecracker labels. These images (and more) are available in my store as a 1" square sheet, as well. Hello hello -- thanks for looking! Please note that this is a listing for a digital file. Once you have paid for your order, Etsy will send you an email with a download link. After that, your files will always be available to you for download through your Etsy invoice in your list of past purchases. Why choose a digital listing? It’s more economical for you! You can print the file(s) as many times as you would like. Don’t have a printer? Easy! You can load your files to a flash drive and take them somewhere like Staples or any other printing business, like Kinkos or even some UPS store. Please note: I don’t own a printer and I can’t sell you printed sheets. I go to Staples when I need things printed. Once I have purchased a printer (coming soon) I will be able to sell printed sheets and I will announce it on my FB and my Instagram. I will admit I am not the least bit fond of firework's noise, however I am easily amused with old firecracker labels. Especially like the sort of treasures you see above, with the mis-registered printing, odd little drawings of children and animals, circus clowns, goofy names and funky typography. It doesn't get any better than the PS, Po Sing Factory label at top. The PS should stand for Pretty Sweet! And don't forget—lay on ground, light fuse and retire most quickly. Happy 4th! :: Top 7 labels belong to Exposur3 Flickrstream. The rest belong to Mr. Firecracker.
