Happy Tuesday! Yes, busy, busy day … so naturally I'm blogging instead of doing what I should be doing … like pampering my husband with coffee in bed (it's his birthday), or walking the dog, or PACKING for Disneyland tomorrow … maybe exchanging some money would be a good idea … or printing the permission letter I need Craig to sign so I can take Rebecca out of the country … Nah … blogging is more fun :) I went down to make Craig a birthday card yesterday. One word. LMAO - got a *little* distracted. This is what I came up with … Bahahahahaaha! Yes, nothing says "Happy Birthday Husband" like some lilies with a sympathy sentiment lol … My Pal Wanda came to Craft Night last month and used this "Remarkable You" set and asked "Why have we never used this set??" (in class before). I didn't have any good answer for her … and when I went down to play … well … I struggled (as usual) with the finishing touch. I'm SURE it's lovely on its own but tried LOT of different things. I settled on some silver thread but not before trying black sequins, white perfect accents, black ribbon, black bakers twine, white bakers twine, black/macaron bakers twine, Daffodil enamel dots …. I even tried splotches using the retired Luminate ink … I think it's good as is … or even without the twine. Just not my usual style to be SO clean and simple … So I stamped the image from Remarkable You … with Black Archival Ink. The image itself is two lilies. I stamped a third and cut it out "old school" with my paper snips and popped the third one up on dimensionals. I coloured the stamen (?) with Daffodil Delight and then accented each flower with my Smoky slate marker. You can't tell in the picture but I also colored each flower with my clear Wink Of Stella. Yup - I use that s*** on everything! lol The sentiment is from another great set "You've Got This" … The white layer measures 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" - the black layer measure 3 3/4" x 5". The silver thread is wrapped around the two then popped up on dimensionals. Bam! Done. Kinda love it :) Well - I guess I should get my backside in motion. Gunna be 28 degrees again today (?!?!?! unHEARD of for Canada May 3rd!) and Koda isn't a fan of the heat with his big fur coat. If I'm AWOL for a few days it's because I'm living the dream in Disneyland .. but who knows - I may need to procrastinate more a little later so might have a few more projects to share. Have yourself a stampy day Friends! Tam
The sun is shining here in Melbourne today, and it's a bright 27C day, so how about a bright happy card to start the week? I love my garden and flowers, so Remarkable You was one of the stamp sets I "needed" from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. The base card is Cucumber Crush, one of this years in colours. I have embossed it with the Lovely Lace embossing folder. My floral image is water-coloured with an Aqua-painter and Watermelon Wonder ink from the inside of the ink pad. Love these colours together. All products are linked at the end...

Sympathy cards are challenging, but making one is at least part of how I express my feelings when someone has experienced loss. It’s never easy, but for me, the act of creating a card helps …
I adore sweet and simple sketches. Even if I weren't a design team member at Global Design Project, I'm certain I would play along with the wonderful sketches Teneale Williams creates for our team. I knew exactly what I'd showcase inside the circle for this week's sketch, but the colors

You've seen cards I've made in the past with this stamp set, and now I've created some new cards for an August class using the same set. Today, I'll begin with the Calla Lily card. Stamped in Slate Gray, lightly coloured with a Stampin' sponge, and the stamen coloured with a So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker, I fussy cut the pieces out to pop up. A few layers on this card. The Blushing Bride strips I curled with my bone folder and looped. Blushing Bride, Minta Macaron and Black are gorgeous together. Inside, I just stamped a little by off stamping/second stamping with Blushing Bride. See below for what I used and be sure to stop by tomorrow for a peek at the next card for this class. Yesterday I showed you card using the Calla Lilies of the "Remarkable You" stamp set. Today I using the Magnolia blossom from the set. I love Magnolia trees, and we have a lot of them here in Victoria, BC. Wanting to try something a little different, I created a tri-fold card, and painted on Crumb Cake cardstock! I masked and stamped, and then I white-washed all the leaves and blossoms. Letting it dry, I later used a combination of water colouring and dry brush strokes. You can't tell in most of the photos that upon completion I used a dry brush to lightly spread a little Dazzling Details all over. When the card is open, it looks like... This is what it looks like from the back, Still trying to get the glitter to show, and the following closeup has a little that came out in the photo. I promise you, a thin layer really is all over the front giving it a shimmery look. Well, that's it for the Magnolia this time. There's one more flower in this set to use; the Water Lily. So look for that next. As usual, the supplies used in the making of this card can be found below. Thank you for stopping by! Happy stamping! Hallo allemaal!
I was so excited to get this stamp set . . . way back when. And then the Christmas Catalog went live and 'Remarkable You' got overlooked. But, today seemed like a good day to bring it out and it might be just the perfect card for someone hosting the family Thanksgiving dinner. To pull that off every year is indeed remarkable! I have the how to video below with all the measurements. And then I'm off to do a few errands on this blustery and cool MN day. Thank you for stopping by . . . I truly appreciate
Good Day Crafty Friends The Australian Post Courier arrived yesterday!!! He brought a few new to me items (in current catalogue) and some new pre-order items from the soon to be released catalogue (available June 1st) I had been sitting on the fence with the Remarkable You stamp set, up until I had discovered my love for the Birthday Blooms set. When I finally realised that in fact you do like flower image stamps Jackie, I went hunting for similar large flower images in the catalogue and boom "Remarkable You" - how did I not notice you earlier (hugs new stamp case) Even though among my new shipment of goodies I had the choice of new pre order goodies to play with, this stamp set was the first I inked up today. I also got my first batch of foil doilies (having also just realised I have an addiction for the delicate doilies I figured I'm going to love these too - and I do!) This shaker card uses Tulle to hold the sequins - which are retired but they went so perfectly with my colour scheme (insert happy face) The little Thank You sentiment is heat embossed in gold and is from the Love Notes Bundle. The Magnolia flower was water coloured in Blushing Bride ink to coordinate with the Cardstock. I also used the Hexagons Embossing Folder for the Whisper White card front. Hoping you had time to craft today and my tulle card provided some inspiration.

When I was growing up, I loved to draw and color. I am sure many of you did the same. Recently I have been attending a class at my local public library geared toward coloring for adults. I cannot tell how happy this has made me. Granted, I am not coloring in children's coloring books anymore, and I am not using crayons, but the joy I feel when I can add color to an image and have it look beautiful afterwards...well, I am sure you know the feeling! I decided that I would check out some of my stamping images and see if I had any that would lend themselves to this coloring/sketching technique. I was inspired by a video on youtube by Melanie Muenchinger : How to Create a Sketchbook Look with Stamps & Pencils: Shading Techniques. I don't have her stamps but I do own a largish collection of Prismacolor Pencils, so I thought I would give it a try. All supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted: Stamp sets: Remarkable You, Remembering Your Birthday Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black by Tsukineko Co. Colored Pencils: Berol Prismacolor in White PC 938, French Grey 30% PC 1070, French Grey 70% PC 1074, and French Grey 90% PC 1076 Accessories: Dimensionals I love the sketchy feel that this has! I hope you like it too. I kept it simple so that the focus was on the colored image. (Simple is definitely not my usual card style!) But it makes for a nice card for a man. In fact, I gave a similar card to my husband for his birthday about a week or so ago. He really liked it! And so do I! I hope you try this fun technique, and then share it with us. I would love to see your work! Thanks for stopping by, Kathryn

I guess I am getting tired of creating with colours for Christmas, so needing a Thank You card, I decided to go with neutrals, choosing Crumb Cake, Vanilla, & Basic Black using the "Pretty Petals"DSP Stack. I did make a mistake in my calculations, however. You can see that black matted polk-a-dot piece is too wide. I opted to use it anyway, offsetting it, and hoping it looks like I meant for it to be that way...lol. Side view to see the layering... The black sequins add a little something as well as a bit of sparkle when the light hits it right. And, for the inside... ...I off stamped the Basic Black Archival Ink twice before stamping on the inside. Check out the supplies used below. So there you have a simple Thank You card. Happy stamping! Today I am featuring another card using the Stampin' Up! Remarkable You stamp set. This one is a birthday card based Stamping And Blogging's Sketch And Stamp SB#115. . I water-coloured the Calla Lily image twice (there are two flower in each image) and then cut out three of the flowers to tie together. I used Rose Red ink and my Aquapainter to colour the flowers with. The Smoky Slate background is embossed with the Elegant Dots embossing folder, and I have used the Everyday Chic Washi Tape and Neutrals Paper Stack for my background layers. My sentiment is from...

After a customer purchased Remarkable You last week, I've been itching to pull out this favorite floral set of mine. I adore the big, bold lines - makes it so easy to color and snip. Because of that, I've often paper-pieced the leaves and flowers in the set. For Linda
