Kitschy tin turned into a fun and quirky accessory
These half moon earrings are from a boring sky blue swath of tin that needed some jazzing up, so I distressed it. I'm happy with matte finish and the fade into the bright silver of the steel. Each piece is hand cut, edges filed and finished smooth and then riveted to a length of waxed steel wire. A surgical stainless steel ear wire finishes the look. The finished earrings are approximately 2.5" (62mm) wide and hang about 3" (75mm) from the ear. Each pair is made to order, so expect slight variations with your particular pair. All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and wrapped ready for gift-giving.Please contact me if you have any other questions.© 2018 Christine TerrellMaterials: SteelOnly 1 available

So today I've been reminiscing about past Halloweens of my childhood and found an old picture of my brother and I. I think I was about two years old.... I was Tinkerbell and my brother if you can't tell was a spider. Haha. So I didn't have any grand plans for Halloween. I went to my bff's house and we watched Rose Red and ate pizza and brownies. Just like we used to do in college (: I did however complete another DIY off of my list this week. Found this idea on Pinterest of course from another blog Onedaywhenihavetime, where they took a little tin and turned it into a jewelry box. It has some basic directions, but I just loosely based mine off of their idea using an Altoid tin instead. I thought this would be a great thing to make to use for when I travel. So here's the tutorial, hope you enjoy: So I started out with a regular old Altoid tin... I decided I wanted to strip the paint off of it which ended up being harder than it sounds. You could totally save yourself a lot of time and just leave the paint on because later you will cover most of it up anyway, but of course I had to be stubborn and it took a lot longer than I expected. Anyway if you do decide to strip the paint off I recommend good old Citristrip Stripping Gel. It's safe to use indoors, but just be careful of getting it on your skin. If you do wash it off because it could burn your skin. And as always use your common sense and take any other necessary precautions (: I found scratching some of the paint off first with a penny helped get the bulk of the paint off and helped the Citristrip work faster. I started with the Citristrip by just sort of globbing it on with a paint brush and letting it sit for a little while.... and then rubbed the paint off with my paintbrush. and this is the result! Then I just took different scrapbook paper and glued it to the metal with rubber cement... for the back hinges I just cut out little notches of my paper to make it fit. Then I covered the bottom and inside by just tracing around the tin onto the paper and did a little bit of cutting to fit it to size. For the inside I took some flimsy paper cardboard that I had and just cut it to fit how I wanted inside my tin.... then I traced it onto the paper that I wanted and glued and covered it with my paper... and then I took the rubber cement and dabbed a little of it on the bottom my spacer so it wouldn't move around. And here's the finished product! I took some little charms that I had and hot glued them onto the tin for some extra detail. I'm super excited about how it turned out and can't wait to use it! Have a wonderful Halloween! -Jaimee (:

Hand sculptured and will always have unique shape, it has unperfect details, organic shapes and it will be created specially for you by hand. Size: aprox. 2,5 cm DETAILS & CARE Composition: Bronze is made of copper and tin. It has a wonderful warm hue mimicking 14K gold. Made from recycled metals. On all products I apply wax with essential oil, so it is protected from oxidation. If you will not use the piece for a while, know that all metals tend to oxidise over time, to avoid this, keep your jewelry dry and clean. Simple method of cleaning is using soap and cloth. To maintain the shine of your new jewellery use a polishing cloth. Sometimes bronze jewelry can cause the skin it touches to turn a greenish hue. This is not harmful and does not mean the jewelry is poorly made. Some old indian cultures even say that bronze jewelry clean your body from toxins and the mark is reference of that. SHIPPING All items come gift wrapped. I should be able to send out your order within 1 to 2 weeks, if not sooner, depending on my workload. If there is any rush on your side, please let me know, preferably before your purchase. Shipping to Slovenia takes 1-3 days, within EU from 5-10 days, worldwide from 10-14 days. These are aproximate shipping days given by post office. I do not take responsability once it is out of my hands. I ship with priority post with tracking number and insurance in case of lost for up to 100€. If you wish for another, more secure way of shipping (DPD etc.), please let me know. SIZE Bronze rings do best with some air circulating between your skin and the metal. I would advise going half a size up rather than having a very tight fit. See the last photo for the Size chart. Think about on which finger you would like to wear your ring and follow the instructions bellow. USE THE RING YOU HAVE! The easiest way is to find a ring at home that fits perfectly on the finger you want to wear your new ring. Simply measure the INNER diameter of your ring, find it in second table of the chart and translate it in the ring size! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PERFECT SIZE RING Not to worry, all you need is a string, ruler and a marker! - use any kind of string - wrap it around the base of the finger - mark where the string beginns&ends with the pen - measure string with the ruler - find in first table "Circumference" and translate in ring size See my website for instructions with photos: https://www.anjaorian.com/ringsize _ __ Website: wwww.anjaorian.com Instagram: @anja_orian Facebook: Anja OriAn

My older daughter has been living and working in Korea for over a year now, and soon my husband and I will travel there to see her. A couple of her Korean co-workers have been so wonderful to her, and I wanted to bring them each a little gift. We like to travel light, so the gifts had to be small and easy to pack. I asked my daughter for hints as to what they might like as far as colors and themes, and decorated an Altoids tin for each of them. One of her co-workers loves children's literature, and works as an English translator, so the tin with the kids and the alphabet around it is for her. Another really loves teal, so the butterfly tin is hers. The third tin is for the parents of one of her friends, who I hear is going to invite us over for a traditional Korean meal. Mmmm! Since I don't know them, I just went with sort of neutral papers I like. When I get there, I'm going to put some delicious Dove chocolates in each tin before I give them. Look how perfectly they fit inside! I hope I can find some great ephemera in Korea to use in future projects!
