Manatees are such sweet, gentle creatures and a lot of fun to learn about. Here in Florida, we have the opportunity to see manatees quite often. They are marvelous, curious creatures that always look like they are smiling! This past winter we went camping to one of our local springs to see the manatees before the weather got warm. During the winter months when the water temperatures drop below 70 degrees, the manatees move to the natural Florida springs where the water temperature is 72 year round. Since we like to turn every opportunity into a learning experience, I wanted to bring some fun learning activities with us so the kids could work on them while we were at the campground.
