If it was still in business, this year would have been the Buell Motorcycle Company's 30th birthday. Treated more like a line on the cash flow sheet to its parent company Harley-Davidson than a true self-supporting motorcycle brand, Buell suffered from not being "Harley enough" for the Bar & Shield devout, and conversely wasn't adopted by the non-believers because of its extensive compromises with the Milwaukee brand. The ethos of the brand continues however, with Erik Buell Racing. We still don't know what the future holds for Erik Buell's new company, though a bevy of models are on his company's product road map. We think if you polled a few former Buell owners, they would want to see this poster (full-size after the jump) updated.

In the world of cross bikes, there's something just inherently honest about a single speed race machine. It's gotta be the big, knobby tires, cantilever brakes, unicrown fork and no-nonsense utilitarianism, right? Wrong. It's pink and it's a Vicious Cycles! This bike in particular is over 10 years old and it has been raced extensively over that time period. It's been wrecked, loved, hated, spit on, puked on (maybe?) and it's still alive, begging for more. When I was at the Bicycle Sport Shop Six Shooter, this was one of the first bikes that caught my eye. See more in…

If there’s a growing trend in custom motorcycles today, it’s towards street trackers: road-legal versions of the flat track bikes that raced in the 1960s and 1970s. With small tanks, wide bars and fat tires, they’re good-looking bikes stripped down to the essentials. Machines like this lovely BSA Trackmaster, resurrected by New Jersey’s Phil Capozzi,…
Bought the bike as a tired US spec Special that was a non runner. It was a solid low mileage bike but way too stock for me. I stripped the bike down and got it running for a season and tried a few different bar and suspension setups. In the end I went with wide
