200 designs, I can’t believe it! The years have passed so quickly, I have had so much fun - and the knitting needles have not rested:) Number 200 had to be special, and I am really proud to present my summer-top. *Design and construction.** The main-feature of this top is the circular, lace-patterned yoke. The hems of the sleeves and the lower body are worked in pattern. The rounded neckline, the sleeves and lower body are finished off with an i-cord bind-off. The top is worked top-down and seamlessly. The lace-pattern might seem a bit elabortate, in fact it is simple and awarding to knit. Sizes Finished chest measurements, after washing/blocking, and worked at gauge: 77/85/93.5/102/110/120/132 cm = 30.5/33.5/37/40/43.5/47/52”. Materials Yarn: I recommend that you use a fingering weight, that knits up to gauge, to work the top. I used “Lin” from Järbo garn to work the top. This fingering weight, linen yarn comes in skeins of 100 gr/3.53 oz and 200 m/219 yards. You will need approximately 600/650/760/820/880/940/1000 m = 654/709/829/894/960/1025/1090 yards of this specific yarn to work the top. Needles: size 3 mm/US2.5, Gauge 24 sts and 32-34 rounds in stockinette sts, after blocking/washing = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”. Knitting skills Intermediate. Techniques used: provisonal cast-on (optional), short-rows, increases, i-cord bind-off. The pattern The pattern gives instructions for the provisional cast-on, the short-rows and the i-cord bind-off. The lace-pattern of the yoke is charted, as well as written out, round-by-round. The pattern of the hems is written out round-by-round. All stitch-counts are given. Measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches. There is a schematic. Possible mods: As with all top-down sweaters you have the possibility of adding length to the sleeves and/or the body.

Ley Lines contemplates convergence. It plays with the vanishing point and the feel of looking skyward and seeing trees appear to stretch towards each other; looking to the horizon and seeing your road disappear. Its meeting parallel lines are created with travelling slipped stitches to striking graphic effect. Ley Lines is a V-neck seamless set-in sleeve sweater knit from the top down. The sweater is knit section by section: the top-back is knit first from shoulders to arm-holes, stitches are picked up from the shoulders to work the top front, front and back are joined to work the body in the round, stitches are picked up from the armholes and sleeve caps are shaped with short rows, sleeves are worked straight to the cuff. Morgana is a seamless top-down sweater with a stranded colourwork and a round yoke. This sweater is inspired by Morgana, the Celtic enchantress, both in the name and in the choice of hues, black as the absence of colour to represent mystery, and the shades from blue to green to recall natural herbs used in magic potions. Morgana is designed to fit for with 1-2” / 3-5 cm of positive ease at the bust. Sizes listed in the pattern refer to the finished sweater measurements. A few increases in the body construction give a slight A-line to the garment, while short rows added to the back neckline allow a slight raise from the front collar. It contains supporting videos with knitting techniques used in this pattern. The Nordic Vest is a classic slipover and it is perfect for layering or for wearing alone. Featuring a simple and true to size look, it will never be out of trend. It could be knitted both from cotton or wool yarn. You will want to wear it in the chilly weather year over year. With slightly dropped sleeves, positive ease for comfort, and an easy-to-work eyelet pattern in the back and along the neckline, Silhuetta is a fabulous shirt for hot, sunny summer days. Silhuetta is knit seamlessly from the top down. Back and front pieces are worked separately in rows back and forth up to the armhole depth. The shoulder line is formed with short rows, the neckline by increases, which are integrated into the eyelet pattern. Front and back are then joined and the shirt is finished in rounds. The pattern offers two options for the neckline depth for sizes L2, XL and XXL (see measurements, last photo on the left). “Freezing Fog” Socks are knit from the cuff down. Main feature of the design are small lace prints against twisted rib background on the leg and top side of the foot. Due to that rib, there is no separate cuff – the print starts from the very top. Heel construction in this design is also quite special: it is worked with gradual increases (so-called ‘Strong heel’) in twisted rib, so that it naturally flows out of the print. I absolutely love this feature, so there will be more design with it to come! Another special element are the toes: they are also worked in rib AND have anatomic fit (irregular decreases), following the curve of the toes much better than the classic toe. All lace motifs are very simple, the somewhat tricky / unusual stitches all have video-tutorials linked for your convenience. The pattern includes several charts, all also written out as text instructions, so that you can choose the type that is more convenient for you. ____________________________________________________________ Find more projects from this pattern on instagram under hashtag #freezing_fog_socks ____________________________________________________________ Sizes The pattern includes 3 sizes, which correspond to the traditional socks worked on 56, 64 and 72 sts. They are roughly intended for shoes sizes EUR 36-37 (38-39, 40-42) or US 6-7 (7.5-8.5, 9-10) Yarn: This pattern can be worked in any any classic sock yarn (fingering weight ~400-420m/435-460yds per 100g/3.5oz) You will need a total of ~65 (70, 80) g/2.3 (2.5, 2.8) oz for a pair (will vary if you work a shorter/longer leg and foot). I recommend using yarns with little to no fuzz and rather even color (solid / slightly tonal / slow gradient / very light speckling) to show off the print best. Needles I got pattern gauge on 2.25mm/US 1 needles, but you might need smaller / larger needles, if you a looser / tighter knitter. The pattern is written for 5 DPNs with additional notes on adjusting for magic loop/ 3 needles or small circulars Notions 2-6 stitch markers (depending on your type of needles), tapestry needle, scissors Pattern tech-edited and translated into English by Olga Barshai GingerHandcrafts

(of welke kleur u zelf mooi vindt) This shawl is knitted with Holst Supersoft, uses 8 different balls of 50g for the main colours, and uses 19 more colours for the details. 50 gram: Denim, Glacier, Iced, Bleached white, Kingfisher, Dark apple, Calypso, Verbena 20 gram: Graphite, Bokhara 10 gram: Marlin, Slate grey, Dark olive, Larkspur, Maize, Old gold, Burnt orange, Ember, Candy Floss, Damask, Crocus, Cloudberry, Mouflon, Scarab, Donkey, Scots pine, Tundra Don’t be put off, whoever starts this pattern will have some left over bits of wool lying around at home in the right colours. So first look what you already have at home in the same yarn thickness and of the same materials. Please note: for the edge of the farms I used the colour Tundra instead of Dark Apple. This yarn was not mention yet in the summary. Also in this border the colour Tryffle is mentioned, which needs to be Mouflon. (Or use whichever colour you like best).

Welcome to a special slipover design, which will keep you warm through cold winter days and when the season changes. It has several options. You can choose a classic slip over design, or knit it completely open, and connect the front and back panel with a button band. All versions are included and you can also look through the various pictures and pick the look you love the most. This slip over ist top down. Starting with the collar, you will knit one shoulder first, and then shape the shoulder pack part with short rows, go to the other shoulder, knit the shoulder line, shape the shoulder back panel with short rows and knit in length. It is a easy and quick knit, which I enjoyed a lot. I would recommend a positive ease, if you are between sizes, pick the bigger size. The needed yarn amount is like following XS (S) M (L) XL for closed version (which is tested for all sizes) Friends wool : 500m (530m) 560m (600m) 640m Friend kid silk : 500m (530m) 560m (600m) 640m But if you have a sensitive skin, the kid silk from hobbit is a bit scratchy, so I would rather recommend another silkmohair, like silkmohair from Isager yarn Or itoyarn. Happy knitting!

The sweater is worked top down seamlessly. The pattern in English // Suomenkielisen ohjeen löydät kirjastani Urban Knit.
The Umbria Summer Top is a cardigan style top that is worked top down. First, the neck band is worked in rib. Then the yoke is worked back and forth in pattern with raglan increases while the button bands are worked simultaneously. When the yoke is done, the sleeves are divided from the body and the body is worked with a few decreases. Then the sleeves are worked in the round and bound off with the same technique that is used for the body. The Umbria Summer Top requires the following techniques: tubular cast on, knit and purl stitches, increases (M1L, M1R), decreases (k2tog, p2tog, ssk, ssp), German short rows, and Hiya Hiya Grandma’s Bind Off. Striking Letho is perfect for warding off chilly weather, and allows for easy layering over other pieces. She combines an understated, comfortable shape with some thrilling, but simple to work details. The edges of the cardigan are adorned with welts and slip stitch colorwork to provide interest and structure. The cozy brioche collar and cuffs add drama, but also invite you to cocoon in the warm embrace of the cardigan. Directions for tailoring the fit of Letho to your personal flair are given in the pattern. CONSTRUCTION Letho has an interesting, seamless construction, with elegant and decorative details. The cardigan is worked sideways, in two halves, starting at the brioche sleeve cuffs to the center of the back. The body is constructed using a double sided provisional cast-on for an invisible side seam. The pattern contains a phototutorial on this technique. Once the right and the left half of the cardigan are worked they are joined by a three needle bind off on the outside. The stitches for the body ribbing are then picked up and worked down to the lower edge of the cardigan. After finishing the ribbing the colorwork, the welts and a brioche collar are worked around the fronts and back neck. SIZES Sizes XXS (XS, S, M, L) {1X, 2X, 3X} Finished bust measurements (with the Brioche Collar overlapping at the front): 92 (100, 108, 118, 130) {136, 148, 160} cm / 36.25 (39.5, 42.5, 46.5, 51.25) {53.5, 58.25, 63}” The cardigan is designed to have approx 15 cm / 6“ of positive ease, so it can be worn over other layers as outerwear. Laita sweater pattern was first published in the Finnish knitting magazine Novita in December 2021. The design was inspired by the wooden fences surrounding meadows and fields in countryside. Pattern is rewritten and tech edited to meet my style. Laita is worked seamlessly from the top down. To make your own version of this sweater, you need to be able to cast-on / bind-off stitches, knit, purl, increase / decrease stitches, and work colorwork and short rows. There are instructions for two different sweater versions. The original Version 1 is a bit heavier and has a little bit more drape if you decide to use the suggested yarn. It has colorwork at the yoke, cuffs and hem worked with 3-4 different colors. Version 2 is worked with a little bit smaller needle size with one strand of unspunned wool and one strand of silk mohair held together. This combination is more rustic and lighter. It is a more simple variation having less colorwork. The yoke pattern has only 2 colors and the hem and sleeves are knitted in one color only. Also, the hem is more cropped than in the original Version 1. FINAL MEASUREMENTS A) Bust circumference 106,5 (113.5, 122, 131.5, 144) cm / 42.5 45.5, 48.75, 52.75, 57.75”. The matching LENU hood is 50% off when you purchase both patterns or bought the LENU sweater previously This variation of a contiguous saddle shoulder (by Susie Myers) fits really great and if you are not so much into cable knitting (like me :) this front panel will make you happy … you only need to know how to decrease and YO! LENU is worked seamlessly from the top down. The neck is shaped with short rows and then you work in the round and increase for the shoulders and then for the body and sleeves down to sleeve separation. The sleeve stitches are then placed on hold, underarm sts are cast on, and you continue to work the body to the ribbing. After the body is completed, the sleeve sts are picked up again to work the sleeves top down in the round. The neck finishing is worked last. Do you need knitting support for this pattern? ENGLISH DESCRIPTION The MARTA Jumper is a short, boxy pullover that is knit top down in one piece. The stitches for the neck are cast on with a crochet needle to ensure a stable and aesthetically pleasing neckline. The yoke and the increases start out in rows (to account for the short row shaping along the neck). Later, the increases are worked in the round. Once the yoke is finished, front and back are worked separately up to the armholes where they are joined again to finish the rest of the pullover in the round. The stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are then knit in the round. This very detailed 12-page pattern includes a technical drawing for the short rows and detailed schematics with all necessary measurements as well as a blank one for you to use for notes and calculations. Fit 1 2 3 – loose Difficulty 1 2 3 - easy (some added difficulty because of the short row shaping when working the shoulder increases) TECHNIQUES Crochet cast-on Knits and purls, decreases, bind-off Right- and left-leaning increases on both the right and wrong side German Short Rows Picking up stitches (sleeves) Video recommendations and photos for step 1 Sizes XS (32/34) S (36/38) M (40/42) L (44/46) XL (48/50) XXL (52) All numbers in the schematics (Annex 1) and in the pattern refer to sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL) To fit actual bust measurement of 74-82 (82-90) 90-98 (98-107) 107-119 (119-131) cm Measurements of finished garment Bust circumference 102 (110) 120 (128) 138 (150) cm; positive ease approx. 24-25 cm Sleeve circumference 41 (42) 45 (47) 50 (54) cm; positive ease approx. 15 cm Neck width 26 (26) 28 (28) 30 (30) cm Jumper width 51 (55) 60 (64) 69 (75) cm Sleeve width 19.5 (20) 21.5 (22.5) 24 (26) cm Sleeve length (including ribbing) 36.5 cm Total length (from the shoulder, including ribbing) 56 (58) 60.5 (63) 66.5 (70,5) cm The model in the picture measures 164 cm and is wearing size S at a bust circumference of 85 cm. For pattern support please go to the questions thread here. update 07/23: changed link to the Twisted Braid tutorial (old link was broken) Aldous is worked seamlessly in rounds from the top down.First some short rows are worked back and forth to shape the neck. The yoke is shaped by using a modified version of the contiguous set-in sleeves method developed by Susie Myers. When the yoke shaping is complete, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the underarm stitches are cast on using your preferred method. From this point the body is worked in rounds to the hem, where a single-color Twisted Braid highlights the start of the ribbing. The sleeve stitches are picked up again to work them in rounds top down, using the same Twisted Braid to highlight the cuffs. No finishing required. Das garn ist ein klassisches Garn aus Irland, doch es eignet sich auch jedes andere hochwertige Garn. Es kommt auf die Maschenprobe an, jedoch lässt der Schnitt auch einige Größenvarianten offen und wächst einige Jahre mit.
