Rachel 47380, Limited Edition, 114/2000, Williamsburg, Madame Alexander, 8" Doll, Holly Basket, Cloak, COA, Box, Wrist Tag, Paperwork was produced in 2006 for 2007 release. Original box, (small, rectangular), is in good condition with clear label, nice overall finish and shape, nice flat lid top. (Note: Doll descriptive details in 2nd paragraph). Restringing was not needed due to proper care/storage. (Ball jointed). Articulation is fully functional. Jointed at neck, shoulder, elbows, thighs, knees, and swivels at waist. Shoulders and thighs move up and down and side to side. Hair retains original up-do and mini hairnet over her bun, no larger net. Accessories were opened, including her cap, cloak and original lantern. So she may have been displayed, but certainly no evidence is apparent. All garments, undergarments, trims, accessories, shoes and shoe soles are exemplary and as new. Please study photos to confirm description. SHIPPING OVERAGE may apply, depending on destination. Only actual shipping label cost is charged. Rachel is quite tastefully dressed in her moss-colored gown. It is fully lined and the fabric emits a soft, candlelight glow. It appears to be silk or a high quality synthetic silk, with a very fine gauge weave. It is beautifully accented by the contrast white trims, including a fan pleated trim along square neckline and edging the front opening of the split skirt over-layer, as well as the scallop lace edging her sleeves. This lace is delicate, with honeycomb netting and a floral pattern. The skirt underlayer is lined satin acetate, which was also chosen for her lace edged cap. Its soft sheen is an ideal match to the gown fabric. The unadorned bodice comes to a point just below waist level. Falling snow can be imagined, as her hooded, velvet cloak surrounds her in blanket-like warmth. Its full cut flows out from her gown and it is secured under her chin with a satin bow. Perfectly paired with her lit lantern, we can imagine her at dusk, perhaps returning home from a social function in Colonial Williamsburg. Custom black velvet flats have a dressier, slightly tapered toe and a distinctly colonial front buckle. Frances is a beautiful Colonial representation of going out and about, with her lantern lighting her way to and from evening festivities and gatherings. MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually. MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps , no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands,( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors." MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work. To include a doll stand with your order, please add $1.00 to your total.
