Hello and welcome to the final week of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hops. I have had a wonderful time sharing my projects with you and also receiving inspiration from my fellow team members. This week I have a gift card holder to share with you. It's come to a time when most of my teenage nieces and nephews prefer to select their own Christmas gifts with a gift card than something I would choose ;). So instead of just handing over a plastic card I like to make it a bit more special with a hand made gift card holder. I started with a standard card base of half an A4 sheet folded in half. I scored the front of the card 3.5cm in from the right hand side. Before folding and adhering this to the inside of the card I punched a semi circle from the centre to make the gift card more accessible. I decorated the front of the card using the Leaves of Holly bundle from the July to Dec mini catalogue. Now it's time to see what the very talented Cathy Proctor has to share with us. If you have any problems with the links in our hop please head over to Sharon Davern's blog as she is the wonderful host of our Heart of Christmas blog hops and will have a complete list of tonight's participants. It's Wednesday again and time for another Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Week 7 sees us feature one of our very versatile Neutral colours Basic Gray. I did think for a few minutes about trying to do a monochromatic card with Basic Gray, but it goes so nicely with so many of the other Stampin' Up! colours that I decided to use it as one of many colours instead. As it is nearly time for the new July to Dec Mini Catalogue (that is not really mini) and the next Sale-a-bration I have lots of new stamp sets to inspire you. When I saw these Hippos in the Sale-a-bration brochure I knew they would be a hit as they are sooooo cute. I have used the not so delicate, but really sweet ballerina Hippo on my Pull Tab Flip Card. I mounted her in one of the frames from the Fabulous Frames Dies and then mounted this piece on to the pull tab mechanism. I am planning to write my own tutorial using the Fabulous Frame Dies, but in the meantime there are numerous tutorials on the internet. I stamped another one of the hippos to go inside the pull tab. Both Hippos were stamped in Memento ink and coloured using the Blends Markers listed below. My second card is the first Christmas card I am sharing with you this season. Most of the products used to make this card are available in the July to Dec Mini Catalogue that begins on the first of July. The stamp set is called Trees For Sale, and as an extra bonus there is a coordinating Die Set as one of the rewards from the upcoming Sale-a-bration promotion. This time I have paired Basic Gray with a Polished Pink tree. The base layer of the tree is stamped in Polished Pink ink that has been stamped off once for a lighter shade. The second tree image is stamped in full strength Polished Pink ink. The tree is framed by one of the dies in the Fabulous Frames Dies cut from Silver Foil. The background has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. The Basic Gray background has been embossed using the really cute Whimsical Wonderland 3D Embossing Folder which is in the July to Dec Mini Catalogue. The scripty greeting is also included in the Trees For Sale stamp set. I hope you like my Basic Gray creations, next week we will be featuring Bermuda Bay. Now it's time to see what my fellow team members have created using Basic Gray. The next stamper along in the Blog Hop is the lovely and very clever Diane Furniss. If you have any issues following our Blog Hop please head to Cathy Proctor's blog as she is the host of our hops and will have a complete list of tonight's participants. Do you think it's possible to enjoy Christmas in the classroom? It can be a crazy time of the year, but what if you could actually...
For week 2 of the Heart of Christmas Countdown I have used the Christmas Gleaming bundle along with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP. The baubles were cut from the Brightly Gleaming DSP. I added a topper to each bauble by punching just the top of each bauble from Copper Foil paper. The strings for the baubles are actually very fine strips of Copper Foil paper that I cut using my paper cutter. The Merry Christmas greeting was embossed with Copper Emboss powder. The Old Olive sprig above the bauble is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle. The dies included are this sprig, snowflakes and stars. I love the abundance of Christmas greetings in the stamp set. There is a greeting that suits any Christmas card. The card base is Thick Very Vanilla card stock, which is more suitable as a card base than the standard Very Vanilla card stock. For more Christmas inspiration head to Claire's blog for a complete list of tonight's participants. Here’s a card I made a while ago when I was having a play with the hostess stamp set in the Aug-Dec Catalogue called A Merry Hello. I also made this card which I showed you earlier. I stamped two of the small stocking images joined together, which was pretty easy as this is a Photopolymer stamp set. I used my Blends Markers to colour the images, in Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Real Red. The holly leaf and leaf sprig are stamped in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive respectively. The background papers use are from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP, which is one of the packs available at 15% for all of October. The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Christmas set and is stamped in Real Red. Thanks for visiting and happy World Cardmaking Day tomorrow! Happy stamping, Rachel

Hello stampers, I have some peeks from the up coming Holiday Catalogue to share with you. There are some many beautiful stamp sets and new tools in this catalogue it's hard to know where to begin. I was very excited to see the return of Shimmer Paint in this catalogue, in four beautiful colours, Bright Copper, Champagne Mist, Frost White and Vegas Gold. for this card I used a sponge dauber to apply Vegas Gold Shimmer paint directly to one of the deer from the Dashing Deer stamp set. I stamped this on Early Espresso card stock and cut it out using the coordinating Detailed Deer thinlits. I add a bit of pizzazz to the background a added a couple of drops of Vegas Gold Shimmer paint to a Stampin Spritzer and topped it up with rubbing alcohol. I lightly sprayed the Cherry Cobbler card stock with this mixture to give it a sparkly shimmer. The next two cards feature images from the Beautiful Baubles set, which have been coloured with the NEW colours of Blends Markers that are in the Holiday Catalogue. Just in time for Christmas we now have Blends in Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Mango Melody, Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss and Cajun Craze. Love these new colours! The embossing folder used on the single bauble card is also new, called Swirls and Curls. The small baubles on this card were embossed in Gold embossing powder and then cut out with the Detailed Baubles thinlits, which cut out 6 of the baubles at once. Much more convenient than cutting them out singly. These cards will be projects in my up coming Christmas Card Classes, as will the following 3D items. I thought for something a bit different I would offer a Christmas Gifts Class where we will make this Chocolate Block Holder, a set of Gift Tags and a couple of other Christmas gifts that would be perfect to make for teachers, coaches or work mates. The Chocolate Block Holder contains a Lindt block but could be adjusted to fit other sizes. The chocolate is revealed by pulling on the ribbon. The box of Gift Tags contains 6 tags which use the Detailed Deer and Detailed Bauble thinlits and the beautiful Joyous Noel Speciality DSP. These's plenty of room on the back to write your Christmas message. The final project I have to show you features my beautiful daughter, who is growing up way too fast, and the also beautiful Blended Seasons Stamp set and Thinlits Bundle. I stamped the floral image twice on Shimmery White card stock and coloured them with the watercolour pencils. The leaf image from Petal Garden has been stamped in Frost White Shimmer Paint. The small leaves are cut using the Petals and More thinlits from Granny Apple Green card stock and the larger leaves are from the Eclectic Layers thinlits and Garden Green card stock. *******Blended Seasons Bundle and Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 only available until the end of August******** If you have any questions about my projects or up coming classes please contact me, Happy stampin, Rachel
