PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Dioptra is comprised of a network of stars, their connections weaving together through their points, plotting a path across the sky. The pattern is named after the dioptra, an ancient Greek surveying device that allowed users to make large, complex measurements - say, determining the distance between Rome and Alexandria - based on the positions of the stars. Dioptra’s stars include some unique angles, achieved through either foundation paper piecing or standard piecing with a bit of trimming (it’s up to you). Full instructions included for foundation paper piecing in case you’ve never tried it and would like to give it a try. This listing is for a printed quilt pattern. It includes a full color 32 page booklet filled with detailed instructions & diagrams; a foundation paper piecing template; a coloring sheet; and fabric placement worksheets, all inside a high quality card envelope. Please note that you will need to either copy or print additional paper piecing templates if you choose to paper piece (templates fit on US Letter / A4 paper). Dioptra is an intermediate pattern, mostly because laying out and assembling the nested block design takes a healthy dose of organization. If you click on your download link and a web browser appears but only presents you with a white screen or downloading doesn't appear to take place, most likely there is an incompatibility between the web browser you are using, your system software, and the way our website serves files. First try switching to a different web browser. (For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, try starting the download with Firefox instead. We have found that Firefox works very well!)However, if switching browsers does not work for you, try downloading it from your laptop or desktop computer rather than an iPad or mobile device. This usually solves the issue as the iPad tends to hide downloaded files in odd places and requires a reader app to open it (Adobe Reader App or Kindle App are free). Sew up your own noble steed! This is classed this as ‘intermediate’ due to the large number of sections and some slightly tricky angles to join them, but if you have made one of my patterns before you will be able to tackle this no problem! This block measures 15”x15”. There are no instructions included on how to actually do FPP, but there are several keys and a colouring page included. Disclaimer - Some parts of the pattern (especially on the keys) may have overlapping letters and numbers that may be hard to read. This shouldn't affect the actual pattern pieces and is caused by the program I use and trying to keep the number of pages in the pattern to a minimum. Please get in touch if you need any help. No refunds on digital patterns. Copyright 2024. This pattern is for personal use only and may not be shared or redistributed without prior written consent. Items made from this pattern may be sold on a small handmade scale with credit on photos and listings to the designer Griffin and the Bear Studio. Designed in and templates from Electric Quilt 8.
