A Vintage 1950's Pair of Royal Souvenir Portrait Pin Dishes. The first being of HRH King Charles 111(when he was Prince Charles), eldest son to the late Queen Elizabeth 11 and the late Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh, born In 1948 and the other being HRH Princess Royal(when she was PrincessAnne), the only daughter of the royal couple, born in 1950. These two darling pin dishes are designed from portraits of British Society photographer, Marcus Adams, with the wording " from portraits by Marcus Adams"in the tiniest print on the inside bottom rim of both dishes. Over a period of 30 years Adams created a photographic record of two generations of Royals, Queen Elizabeth 11, herself and then later her two eldest children attended the Adams Children's Studio between 1949-1956. I would guess that Charles was between 3-4years and Anne between 1-2 years of age in these wonderful portraits. Both pin dishes are transparent, as the photos I have taken in the window with the daylight shining through them shows the royal children's reflection through the lovely vintage glassware. The first pin dish of the young Prince is in good vintage condition but for a tiny flea bite under the top rim, so not visible. The second, of Princess Anne is flawless, in excellent vintage condition. Each dish measures 5 inches/12.5 cm in diameter. A beautiful pair of pin dishes, reflecting more of the Glory days of Royal family life...
