Rodolfo Amoedo (11 December 1857, Salvador - 31 May 1941, Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian painter, designer and decorator. In Paris, he attended the Académie Julian, but finally managed to enroll at the École des Beaux-arts in 1880, where he received the guidance of Alexandre Cabanel, Paul Baudry and Puvis de Chavannes.
The Underground Railroad was a network of people, African American as well as white, offering shelter and aid to escaped enslaved people from the South. The exact dates of its existence are not known, but it operated from the late 18th century to the Civil War, at which point its efforts continued to undermine the Confederacy.

This shot was taken during "El Resucitado", the last of the Holy Week processions in Seville in 2009. The Semana Santa Processions are one of the most important traditional events of Seville. The processions are organized by Christian brotherhoods. During the processions the nazarenos are dressed in penitential robes and hoods and usually accompanied by brass bands. That creates a very special atmosphere in the narrow streets of the city. "El Resucitado" (the resurrected) was the last of the 60 processions scheduled for the holy week of easter 2009, Easter Sunday morning.
