The dolmen of Azután is located in the hamlet of Azután, southeast of El Puente del Arzobispo, in the far west of the province of Toledo in Spain.

At the end of the XVIII, three potteries were known, in 1890 there were one manufacturing of fine ceramics and three of rough ceramics. In 1967 there were thirteen of fine ceramics and eight of rough ceramics without vitrification. Currently it continues being a relevant crafts production centre. The ceramics of Puente del Arzobispo has certain similarities with the two other close production centres, up to the point that in some cases them can be confused. The differentiators that make Puente del Arzobispo apart of the other two kinds are: a) prevalence of emerald colours over the rest, both on the polychromies and the most basic works. b) vitrification, which is less white in Puente than the other areas, and with a transparent texture that allows to perceive the creamy colour of the clays. c) the persistence of the old themes like the hunting scenes and certain baroque on the landscapes, and d) the stylization on the Italian inspired polychromies, treated as well with prevalence of emerald tones. LAMP BASE WITH BLUE PAINTINGS We have two similar lamp bases with blue paintings handcragted by known artisan Robles, from Puente del Arzobispo, which has recently retired and ended his activity. His job shows deep traditional roots and reaches an exceptional beauty and artistic height. This is a vitrified work with the usual blue colours from this zone, which represents an imaginary piece of hunting, in a tribute to the traditional ceramics of the area. This piece can be shown standalone or with the lamp accessories, which are not included. 24 cm H by 15 cm ⌀ (9.4 inch H by 5.9 inch ⌀). ORZA Orza is a clay recipient with a cap, which traditionally has been used to preserve and store food, specially on olive oil. This piece is coming from Puente del Arzobispo, Spain, and has been vitrified and painted for decorative use. It is very representative of the artistic tradition of the area, with their characteristic green, yellow and red colours, and a dense vegetal decoration with wild game. 31 cm H by 20 cm ⌀ (12.2 inch H by 7.9 inch ⌀). Cruz Puente Del Arzobispo hand painted pottery vase from Spain in beautiful condition. There is a minor imperfection to the rim, hard to notice. In 1968, after several generations of ceramic making, Emilio Cruz and Maria de la Cal opened a ceramic workshop where they could be creative and share their art. The Cruz family lives and works in the town of Puente de Arzobispo, along the Tajo river in the spanish province of Toledo. 1940's Spainish Vinegar vases Stamped Santa Fe Puente Arzobispo These are made in this village which is near Toledo, Spain It is quite lovely and in excellent condition

Lebrillo ceramic bowl made by hand. Its origin is in Puente del Arzobispo, Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, Spain. The basin is preserved in excellent condition. The ceramics of Puente del Arzobispo, with a centuries-old tradition, were declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2019. The production of earthenware in El Puente del Arzobispo has generated such a rich and varied typology that it has made it necessary to classify it into series proposed since the end of the 19th century by different specialists, in order to facilitate its study and cataloguing. Among the series of El Puente del Arzobispo, the following stand out: the pine tree, the bow tie and the horizontal bands. In this case, we are looking at a piece from the "Horizontal Bands Series". Piece in bright colors, very decorative. Measures: Height 11 cm. Diameter 30.5 cm.

PLATE WITH BLUE RAMPANT LION This unique piece is one of the latest plates handcrafted by known artisan Robles, from Puente del Arzobispo, which has recently become retired. His job shows deep traditional roots and reaches an exceptional artistic height. It shows some of the traditional figures used in this zone, in this case a rampant lion in a natural environment, rounded by vegetal decoration. Painted with the usual blue tones of the zone, the decoration reaches an spectacular effect and beauty. Can be used as a table or wall decoration.
