Elm Grove, previously Flying Pig, Sun, now Cornerstone.

Opened in 1940 by the ABC chain, its name was changed to ABC in 1962, but was taken over by an independent company in 1979 and renamed the Coronet. It was closed in 1983 and became increasingly derelict while being used as a snooker hall and amusement arcade. Bought by the Wetherspoons chain, it has now been restored to it's former glory, although it now functions as a very large pub. A very nice, spacious pub with lots of tables outside. Inside it goes for an antiques and curios look, with a rather splendid ceiling. Historic pub on North End Road, on the Golder's Hill side of Hampstead Heath. As the sign says, it's been here since 1721 and inspired the old music hall song 'Down at the Old Bull and Bush'. These days it doesn't have much of that 'Merrie England' atmosphere to be honest.
