No to jedziemy! Today I'm gonna show you how to make bunting. Join me if you want to make it! 01. Najpierw przygotowałam sobie szablon. Wszystkie moje papierowe wzory, prędzej czy później przecinam w najmniej oczekiwanym momencie. Upierdliwe to i wkurzające. So I started with preparing a paper template. You can see all measurements in the picture. I'll just add that as I always cut and destroy my regular paper templates in the most inappropriate moments, this time I decided to stick a yellow adhesive tape to its edges. It really helps, as the template is more visible under the ruler. Also, as it's made of paper, it's not 'sticking' to the ruler. 02. Szykujemy pasy materiału wysokiego na ok 16 cm. Można położyć od razu kilka warstw na sobie - jeśli tniemy nożem krążkowym, przyspieszy to cały proces. Przykładamy szablon podstawą do górnej krawędzi materiału. Cut fabric that is approximately 7" high. You can put more than one layer of fabric. This saves some time when cutting with a rotary cutter. Put a template with its base on top of your fabric. 03. Odcinamy część materiału, która wystaje spod lewej krawędzi linijki. Ciach ciach! Cut the fabric on the left side of your ruler. Cut cut! 04. Przekładamy szablon krawędzią do dołu i tniemy. Now put your template with its base at the bottom of your fabric and cut. Repeat until you have enough pieces, by putting the template's base once at the top, once at the bottom of the fabric. 05. Po wykrojeniu wszystkich części wybieramy odpowiednią nić i tasiemkę. Ja postanowiłam na paskowaną bawełnianą lamówkę i turkusową nitkę. When you have enough pieces, choose matching thread and appropriate bias tape. I decided to go with striped cotton bias tape and turquoise thread. 06. Bierzemy dwa wycięte trójkąty, składamy je prawymi stronami do siebie i zszywamy. Take two triangles, place them right sides together and sew on their arms, as shown below. Blue lines show you how to sew, and the red ones how to cut the fabric to prevent bulk from protruding when you turn your bunting right-side-out. 07. Ja używam do tego pędzelka do czyszczenia maszyny albo ołówka :) Now this is how it looks right after sewing, but before ironing. To poke pointy edges out, I use a pencil or anything else. 08. Po przeprasowaniu, zobaczycie na górze niepotrzebne fafoły. Przykładając linijkę, przytnijcie górne krawędzie, tak żeby tworzyły elegancką linię prostą. You have to iron all elements and cut top edges, so they are nice and even. 09. Mój sznur miał 3 m długości i 15 chorągiewek. Pierwszą i ostatnią chorągiewkę proponuję przyszyć do lamówki ok 20 cm od początku/końca. Bias tape is cool, it saves time. If you use it, you just have to place pennant right in its middle and pin in place, like shown in the picture. Leave first 15" of the bias tape, and pin the first pennant, then pin one pennant every 3" or so. Then just sew from the beginning of the tape, through all pennants, right to the very end of the tape. The picture on the right shows you how to finish edges of your tape. I prefer to leave first 15" without any pennants, then it gives you more options to manoeuvre when putting bunting in its new place at home :) KONIEC / THE END :)
