This research project and rubric includes the following list and is meant to be used with technology. The project focuses more on what kind of discoveries these influential people made and the impact that said discoveries had on the past and present. This could be done individually or with a partner/small group. Students could present their research or have a gallery walk for others. If using Google, allow students to share their Slides with others for feedback and revisions. This could be used for any middle or high school grade. I used it with my 7th grade social studies students. Included: -Direction page for students -Guided question: How did the Renaissance change Europe? -A choice of 11 different influential people from the Renaissance -Detailed rubric with the categories below for a total of 18 points ----Excellent (3 points), Adequate (2 points), Developing (1 points), Missing (0 points) -A copy for both Google Slides and PowerPoint -A small space for students to self-reflect on their project (i.e., what score they should receive)
How Has Technology Grown And Changed Over The Years? In this project, students research past and present technology. They conduct short research projects on multiple forms of technology and compare and contrast them. Once they have finished researching, students design their own technology that can be used in the future. Finally, they write an opinion piece on why their technology would be beneficial for the future! There are web links, a video, a reflection, and a rubric included in this lesson. This project is designed to have a structure compatible with implementing PBL in the classroom. NextLesson projects include certain key components that facilitate an authentic PBL experience.

By Martin Lorenz Flexible Visual Systems is a design manual for contemporary visual identities. This concise volume, divided into three parts, teaches a variety of step-by-step approaches to how to design flexible systems, adjustable to any aesthetic or project in need of an identifiable visual language. The first section is a richly illustrated theoretic introduction explaining the past, present and future of flexible systems. The second part is a hands-on, almost purely visual, description of how to design flexible systems on form, starting with a circle, triangle, square, pentagon and hexagon. The third part explains how transformation processes can become flexible systems for visual identities. Learning how to design flexible systems is not just about learning another craft—it is an invitation to entirely change the way you think and work.
