Watercolour using Stampin’ Up Watercolour pencils. Blended Seasons bundle
A couple weeks ago I had the honor of presenting the new Wood Textures Suite at Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event. I made quite a few samples, which I had planned

Pretty Kitty Thanks Besides paper crafts and Stampin’ Up!, my creative outlets include music. I was a piano major in college, and I minored in voice and harpichord. Yeah – there’s…
Sweet and simple birthday card featuring the Pretty Kitty stamp set found on page 49 Item#141864. The images and greetings were stamped with Memento Black ink on Whisper White card stock. I coloured the images with copic markers. Next i used a splatter brush to splatter the background ( I masked the coloured images) Card base is Marina Mist....mat layers is Basic Black. A few coordinating sequins finish off this quick and cute card!

Pretty Kitty was among the first stamps sets I got from the 2017 Annual Catalogue. We don't have cats as my two Maltese x ShihTzu are not big fans, but I grew up with cats and until we got our pooches, I had always owned a cat or lived with one lol who really owns a cat?!? Newspaper, balls of strings or boxes were always our cats favourite play things, which was great because they were cheap! With that in mind, I had to make the following card using one of the Kitty stamps. Naughty lil Kitty! I heat embossed the hello greeting from the Pop of Paradise stamp set, a teeny tiny ball of bakers twine for the wool ball and my ever favourite the woodgrain background stamp was inked in basic grey and stamped on Bermuda Bay Cardstock. The card above uses the Hello sentiment again but this time heat embossed in white and die cut using layering circles. Two strips of DSP from the A Little Foxy Paper Stack were cut using the triple banner punch and adhered to a piece of Smoky Slate card stock that was embossed using the Large Polka Dot TIEF. I love pastels, and also love how this card turned out. It's a simple technique - stamp image and then place a set of layering/nesting dies over the top and run it through your Big Shot. Again, another simple card using some DSP. Pretty Kitty was stamped in Archival Black and coloured in using an aqua painter and ink pads. The border stamp from the Tin of Tags stamp set was stamped in Calyspo Coral to match the card stock and DSP. DSP from the Playful Palette Paper Stack was used with Sweet Sugar Plum Cardstock. The sentiment was die cut using Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, and heat embossed in silver to match the little bling. Happy Crafting x

Hello Crafty Friends, Hope you are having a fabulous day. I am super excited to share today's post, as the card I have created is for the Just Add Ink Challenge Blog, as a Guest Designer!!! To say I was ecstatic when asked to join the Design Team for August & September is an understatement. I danced around the lounge, then quickly questioned if there had been some kind of mistake, and I had received the invitation in error.?!? Could this be right?!? You see, the Design Team are a phenomenal group of creators, chokka block full with many of my Stampin'Up! Idols. I am one of five Guest Designers, joined by the extremely talented Lou Kitzleman, Jo Stubbings, Rachael Lewsley and Denita Wright-Smee. This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is "Just Choose Two". I chose Pets and Patterned Paper. Admittedly I am not a big user of DSP, and thought this was definitely going to be a challenge for me. I didn't struggle as much as I thought I would as soon as I decided to use dotti paper. In fact, I ended up creating two cards and couldn't decide which one to submit! I procrastinated for over a week, finally deciding on the Double Z Fold Card. The staircase card was inspired by Amanda Bates - The Craft Spa. Amanda's work is ah-mazing! Check out Amanda's card that provided my inspiration here. I have used images from the following stamp sets - Pretty Kitty, Bookcase Builder, Bella & Friends (birds), Glamper Greetings (string of party lights) and Happy Birthday Gorgeous (party hats). Both sentiments stamps are from the Birthday Delivery stamp set. All images were stamped in Archival Black and coloured using Stampin'Up! Water Colour Pencils. Some retired DSP was used for the wallpaper and to provide the view looking out the window. I also used a teeny bit for the backing of the picture framed Antlers. I had to put lights on the Antlers! All images were fussy cut except the window and shelf which were Die cut using the Hearth & Home Thinlits. Some fine tip glue was added to the party hats and parrot on the shelf, and a few rhinestones to the flowers in the pot and the all the Kitty's collars. This is the card completely open and flat And this is how it looks folded up ready to post. Check out the Just Add Ink challenge blog to see all the amazing cards the Design Team have created. Why not join us by playing along with the challenge, its super easy, helps gets the creative juices flowing and you may even meet some lovely crafters out there in the blogisphere - I have and continue to do so everyday! Until next time, stay crafty
Hello my card making friend! What a morning! Let me start by saying my morning was planned to a T ...! Let's just say I again realized the bigger Plan...This morning I ended up spending 30 minutes in our school principals office and 2 hours and 30 minutes in front of a fuel station waiting for time to pass end then waiting for RAC to assist with a flat car battery! My plan was to do some blogging of course! I created I card to take part in this week's Global Design Project challenge (#gdp059) and was so excited to share it with you and then this happened! Well I am home now and typing away... without any further delay my entry for this week's theme challenge - animals/pets! Soooo cute!!! If you hop on over to the Global Design Project site you will see all the stunning inspiration given by the GDP Designers, but I had even more inspiration... Harry, the most awesome cat on the planet! Can you see the resemblance? My Product List Notes Can I just say my favourite thing to do in the whole wide world (accept for stamping), is colouring in! Nothing is more relaxing! I started off by adding ink to my stamp with Stampin' Write Markers, huffed onto it and then stamped it onto Shimmery White Cardstock. This is when the party started! I coloured the image with my watercolour crayons (I use a mix of watercolour pencils sent home from school at the end of every school year, but any brand will do)! Stampin' Up!'s Aqua Painters works really well to add water to the watercolours. Not too much water! The beautiful Happy Heart Embossing Folder added necessary interest, without overpowering the image and after trying a few of our beautiful colours, I decided that Soft Sky will be the perfect Stampin' Up! colour to use as a backdrop for my 'watercoloured' image. What do you think? I also used a White Signo Gel Pen to add the Polka Dots! I would also like to remind you of Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper Promotion (ending the 31st of October)! Don't miss out! Buy 3 get 1 free!! I hope to post again soon and if you don't want to miss out, why not follow me via e-mail? Click on the link to the right, leave your e-mail address and you will receive a notification when I post! Take care! Mel xx
Howdy All! I worked on a set of cards last night to go along with 2 different challenges. First is the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #244 and second is the CAS 4 Kids Challenge. Here is the sketch: I love how Clean & Simple it is and it fit perfectly with the CAS 4 Kids Challenge! Here are my cards: I used some retired Stampin' Up! DSP and a brand new stamp set called Pretty Kitty. The images in this stamp set are just adorable and work really well for kids' cards. I used watercolor paper and my Aqua painter to stamp and color my cute kitty and sentiment. The Layering Ovals Framelits were exactly what I needed to cut them out and mat them. It is really hard to see in the pics, but I also used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush pen on the butterflies and the kitties' bows for a bit of glimmer. I will be sending these along to Send A Smile 4 Kids which is a wonderful Organization that collects and distributes handmade cards for children who are inpatient at Children's Hospitals. Here is my supply list (all products are Stampin' Up!): Stamps: Pretty Kitty Paper: English Garden DSP, watercolor paper, Melon Mambo, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride Inks: coordinating inks pads from the colors in the DSP The Rest: Layering Ovals Framelits, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen, Dimensionals, Aqua painter Well, that's all for now. Thanks a bunch for stoppin' by! See you again soon! Hugs, Sandy

It's Cat Day at PET-aloo Petaloo is celebrating pet days. It's part of their nature after all...being a company named for pets... PET-aloo. There are prizes that can be won for participating so check it out at Petaloo's blog right here. Yesterday I posted my dog cards. Today the cats get their day in the spotlight. I had to separate the two because if I didn't, I'd have tails and fur a'flyin. Let's just say my cats aren't the best at sharing space with dogs. You can find the dog post right here, complete with a quick step-by-step for one of the dog cards. You can also find some of the cat and dog card sets available in my ETSY shop right here. The cat cards are here. This is a pop-up card I created for my husband. I added gorgeous Petaloo flowers to the front of the card but left the inside unadorned because I wanted it to close flatly to surprise him. This is the first pop-up card I have made so he was most certainly surprised. The front of this card features the Petaloo Botanica Collection - Chantilly Mixed Blooms - Mauve. Aren't they just spectacular? I used a super old collection for this card - My Minds Eye - Lost & Found Collection. And look at all these darlin's staring at you. Here is my next card. This card features a new flower -Fairy Blossom Branch (code 5016-101). They are sweet delicate velvet flowers with a little sparkle to them. Look for them to ship soon! I also used the Petaloo Textured Elements - Briar Rose Canvas in Red though I chose a flower with a bit more pink from the package. This is my next card. Sweet and simple. I let the Petaloo flowers and cat silhouettes stand out on this card. The cat silhouettes were made using the Tim Holtz -Crazy Cats and Dogs dies and accompanying stamps. I punched some cats out and really loved the negative space creating a delightful silhouette. The soft Petaloo flowers on this card include the newly released -Fairy Blossom Branch (code 5016-101), the green flowers from the package of Petaloo Chantilly Hydrangea in Red and some delicate Petaloo lace trim, Petaloo Crochet Lace Fancy Trim -White . I used the Petaloo Crochet Lace Fancy Trim -White as a border strip. This is the last card and a simple but graphically fun card. It's a shaker card with washi tape used as a background. This card also has the Petaloo Crochet Lace Fancy Trim used as a border. I decided to use some of Petaloo's Jeweled Florettes in pastel colors - they are flat flowers that resemble the flowers on the patterned paper. I felt the shaker card was bulky enough to send through the mail - the flat flowers were a great alternative and still added a bedazzled element to the card. __________________________________________________________ Available in my ETSY shop while it lasts: Available in my ETSY Shop Even more fun? This set of 3 crazy cat cards are available in my ETSY shop. See the listing here. These are just purrrfect for the crazy cat lover, like myself....or to say hello, wish someone a great day, or even sadly to send condolences when someone loses a beloved amazing furbaby. Those pet condolence cards can be hard to find and yet so very necessary to send at times. Look for the new releases like the Fairy Blossom Branch (code 5016-101) I shared on the blue kitty "I Love You" card in this post. You can find more Petaloo products listed here, and I invite you to join and LIKE Petaloo on Facebook right here. Getting the tutorial for my Pyramid Pals Basket from the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop took me a bit longer than I had hoped. One good thing though is that in the meantime I realized the basket could be flattened to make a really cute purse. And then I got on a roll and made a favor box version too. So this is Three-For-the-Price-of-One tutorial. (Oh and check out the ribbon on the first project...watch the video to see how easy it is!) I just love the unique shape of these: Here it is as a basket with bold contrasting DSP A more subtle paper Side view With a clasp to make a clutch Or as a spunky little favor box And now.... the tutorial! Hi Everyone its Jennifer here and I am going to show you how to do a PARCEL CARD. Cut your Base 28cm x 18.5cm Score across at 9cm, 18cm, 22.5cm and 27cm On the 9cm score line measure 12cm across cut 2.5cm either side of the score and the same at 16.2cm This is my base I did in red. See the cuts I did. Score from one cut to the next on each end of them. It then makes a valley to hold your present. Ooops just realised this picture is upside down. Now to make the layers, I make two - this is the first. I make one for the front and back so you have to make one going each way. Cut 8.5cm x 18cm 2 off. Measure 1.9cm and cut down 2.5cm measure 6.5cm and cut down 2.5cm Then cut that bit out as shown cut the second one the same but with the measurements on the other end. My first layer is green. This is the second layer. Cut 8cm x 17.5cm 2 off. Measure 1.5cm and cut down 2.5cm then measure 6.6cm and measure down 2.5cm and cut the piece out as in the picture. Do another one the same with the measurements on the opposite end. I used a printed paper for my second layer. I then layered the 2 fronts and 2 backs together. I then Layered them on the base. I then ran doublesided tape down the 1cm tab on the base and joined it. See the Valley where the present is going! OK we are now making the parcel. Cut 12cm x 17cm. Then score down at 4cm and 8cm Score across at 4cm, 8cm, 12cm and 16cm. I then cut the parcel out around the solid lines see where I have left 1cm tabs. So it now looks like this I have layered my Parcel with 2 layers. First layer I cut 3.5cm x3.5cm 6 off them (the red ones) Second layer 3cm x 3cm 6 off them (patterend paper) I then Layered them. Then layered them on the parcel. I then used doublesided tape to stick it together. You can leave the top of the box untaped and you can pop things in like Chocolates! This is how it sits. Now you can go and decorate them. Here's an Example. and another. They are so much Fun! Can't wait to see what you all do!
The only reference I have for these kitties is on pinterest and it says they are made by Soma in 1984 but I can't find any other info anywhere so I can't confirm that. 'Made in China' is stamped on one of the feet. Symbols on both sides, no symbols on the small pink kitty.
