We had a lot of fun learning about our body and the 5 senses. These activities and printables can be found in my TPT shop in my Human Body Preschool Pack. Human Body Preschool Pack We started by talking about the human skeleton. We read Dem Bones, sang the song A LOT, and created a human skeleton. Then, we traced Hayden's body on butcher paper and placed the bones in the correct spots. Writing practice can be so much fun, and this activity was. I filled a bag of black paint, and placed it on our light pad. Hayden traced each letter, and it was so fun to see the light shining through the letters. We learning about our sense of hearing, and rhyming with this game. We made cup phones. Hayden would whisper a word on his game board, and I would find the rhyming word on mine! This was super fun! Next we played with our sense of smell. I created a variety of spice paints by just using water and spices. Grayson painted the letters, and Hayden painted the sight words. They both LOVED exploring the different scents. Fingerprints are unique, just like us. Hayden created fingerprint patterns with ink. Next, Hayden counted q-tip 'bones' onto the counting mats. Subitizing is a fun skill. To change things up, we used our BRAIN and MEMORY. He studied the sheet and then I took it away. He tried to recall from memory the objects on the sheet, related to each number. We practiced addition with googly eyes. This activity also comes with just numbers on the ten frame. For this experiment, I placed different scents on the cotton balls. We used vinegar, lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, peppermint and garlic. He loved testing his sense of smell to guess the scent! We worked on letter formation with these bone, letter cards. Exploring our senses once again, we made a wonderfully smelling name craft! How fun are these spikey balls? We practiced rolling dice, counting, and adding these 'germs'. Another way to use the spikey balls, a sensory bin. We worked on matching uppercase and lowercase letters. And lastly, we did a blood cell sensory bin. He would pull out objects and we created patterns on the ice cube tray. High Five Sounds- Pick a card, identify the sound, and high five the correct hand print. Human Body Preschool Pack We had a blast with this unit, but are excited to dive into our Halloween Preschool fun!
