The Book of Genesis: A book on beginning, a story on living in the light of a covenant-making God. The characters of Genesis consistently find themselves walking towards uncertain futures. But—equipped with the promises of God—they press forward, learning to trust God in spite of their mistakes and failures. As we read and study Genesis, we unearth truths that form, shape, and guide us, even today. Ultimately, Genesis shows us that being human is messy. There are moments of strained relationships, violence, distrust, and fear. But through it, the text teaches us what it looks like to persevere and find hope in God. Though following God might not always look like what we expect, His promises protect and sustain us. As we read this text, may it transform not only our personal lives but also the world around us. Amen.

Plus, the engagement will help with behavior! Perfect for art integration, writ in prompts, homeschooling, and art teachers looking for fun mini-lessons. ★★★You Will Receive:★★★ • An 8-page non-editable PDF including game sheet, reflection sheet, coloring page, how-to-draw, finished example, a reading passage about cottages, a tell-about-your-cottage sheet ★★★Value of Hand-Drawn Resource★★★ You might notice not all of this resource is digitally created. That is for a BIG and IMPORTANT reason. Students can be pretty hard on themselves about their drawing. They expect perfection because usually what they are looking at is a digitally created image. Of course no child can draw like that! I've found that hand-drawn resources help take the pressure off so kids don't feel like they have to be perfect. It is a buffer for them. They see the hand-drawn work and get engaged because they aren't as afraid of making mistakes. ★★★You Might Also Like:★★★ Rock Lobster

How I set up four kids crafts tables for 200 kids at the Shop Up event in Brooklyn, NY.
When we were making our Mother's Day projects (shown below), I noticed that one of the pages included a simile. Then, it dawned on me that I have yet to teach my kids about similes :)! So, we used the project to jumpstart a simile mini-lesson! I made this chart that we used to come up with some similes for our moms! Notice the sticky notes... my sticky-note stash is GONE! I have ZERO sticky notes left! Seriously, how can a teacher survive without stickies?! I didn't want to write directly on the chart so that I could save it for next year :) Moms... feel privileged. You are as cool as Usher. That's legit :) Here's a look at some of the completed Mother's Day projects. I bought this little craftivity (made by Andrea) during the BIG TPT sale. You can find it {HERE} This one's simile is a little off, but I love how she made the hair and face! So creative! We watched a Brain Pop Jr. video to study similes a little further. For some reason, Moby is much more affective than I am. Especially this time of year! To finish off my English grading for the year, I made a few simile activities that we will be using this week and next! You can get those for FREE {HERE} or click on the pictures :) And, that's it for tonight! 11 1/2 days and counting! YAHOO!
