The object: Pair of stunning stoneware miniatures designed by John Andersson at Andersson & Johansson in Höganäs, Sweden. Amazing DEEP BLUE/ Green & Jade Green Gray Brushed Spotted intricately applied glaze. They were thrown and decorated by hand at the Höganäs factory in the 1950s. Small unique gems from from one of the Swedish pottery masters! They are 5 & 8 cm tall. Miniatures are signed with Höganäs, J.A.. In excellent vintage condition - only very minor signs of wear, shiny and fresh glaze as per photos. The artist: John Andersson was a ceramicist and designer born in 1899, he was the artistic leader at Andersson and Johansson pottery in Höganäs, Sweden. He designed a lot of household goods and many classical services. He is also well known for his small miniature objects in ceramics. John Andersson died in 1969. These vessels rather are a homage to this tradition but are gas- fired in the Western style of raku with a post reduction cooling. Due to the use of a copper loaded glaze they are decorative in nature rather than strictly functional. They are made to be enjoyed and contemplated by the hand and eye! I have been making pots and specifically Raku wares for 20 years since my student education at Middlesex University in London. I have exhibited in the UK, France, the US, Japan and India. After a recent illness, I returned to ceramics after becoming engaged and inspired all over again with the master potters of Japan. Although I am not of that culture, I draw inspiration from it and its values albeit with a splash of western style creativity!

This is a booklet of step by step instructions and template to take you through building a Model Japanese Bridge . It can be used with both air dry and real clay but can only be used outside with real fired clay. I would say that it is a build suitable for intermediate to experienced potters, who have had a little experience of making slab built forms. I hope the instructions make sense but if there are any problems or confusion please feel free to contact me. The template is designed to be printed on A4 paper, please ensure you have your printer set to A4 before printing. (the template can be altered to other sizes by altering your printer to print at different magnifications).

But this type of fabric takes dye really well if you wanted to change the colour. Washing and care: this is very robust fabric. It can be washed on a normal wash cycle but do not tumble dry - allows to dry naturally. Large Spanish handmade and painted white and green glazed terracotta "Lebrillo" earthenware bowl in the style typical of Granada, Diameter 50 cm | 19.6in Fajalauza pottery is highly sought after and collectible. Designs with pomegranate and ornaments are more traditional. Geometric and intricate designs are not as common. Granadine traditional pottery is well known as Fajalauza ceramics. The potters settled in the city gradually from the late sixteenth century until the present day, in the North of Albaicin area next to the Fajalauza Gate. The style of pottery takes its name from Morales, the largest factory in Granada. In time, all pottery production in Granada came to be known as Fajalauza pottery. The decoration used on Granadine pottery comes from the workshops and Moorish traditions. We have the largest collection of Lebrillo in Spain. 19th Fajalauza Blue White Spanish Glazed Dish Spanish Fajalauza terracotta dish in traditional blue and white glaze with traditional flower at the center and scalloped design at the border. Fajalauza pottery is from Granada, Spain and originated during the 13-15th centuries when the Nasrid Muslim dynasty ruled the Iberian Peninsula. It is named for the gate of Fajalauza that led to the El Albaicin neighborhood in Granada where the Islamic potters lived during the 16th century. A superb quality hand painted bowl by renowned Hungarian potters Herend in the Rothschild Bird pattern with pierced and gilt border, underneath the printed crown mark used between 1915-1930 along with 7501 | RO for shape and pattern respectively. Good condition with only minor signs of age and wear, including some discrete scratches to decorations, only discernible on close inspection. No chips, cracks, repairs or any other major issues noticed. Please refer to detailed photos provided as they form part of item's description. Approximately 24.5cm in diameter.
