Liefs, Floor

Schools are cancelled again today. Just when it looked like the snow was finally leaving and the air was feeling warmer we get more snow. And lots of it! That means my daughter Kristi will have a 1.5 days of school this week. We are off to a hockey tournament this week end in Halifax NS. so she will have to miss school. Her Bantam AA team competed last week end in the provincial championships and won all their games in both round robin play and crossovers to earn the gold medal and "Island" champs title. This is a picture of my other daughter, Riley and her friend Alisha. Riley is on the right. They are the only two girls on their Atom AA boys team. They finished up their provincal week end with a silver medal. Thanks to some poor refereeing. I picked up this cross stitch on the week end. It was getting framed. Yes, another Blackbird design. It is called Birds of a Feather. I absolutely love how it turned out. I love how primitive it is. Other than that I have been working on nothing.

The fine white porcelain vase has been engraved with lily of the valley and butterfly cut outs. These vases were designed to take posies of flowers which makes them perfect for the center table at weddings, parties and event lunches. They also make a fabulous gift and look great at home. Florists and wedding planners out there, you may be interested in stocking these as I am offering them at better than trade price. If you would like multiple boxes let me know. Lily of the Valley (Convallaria majalis) is well known for its delicate bells and beautiful sweet scent, and was the late Queen Elizabeth II's favorite flower. Other names include Conval lily, Lady's tears, May bells, Muguet, Our Lady's tears and Mary's tears. This fast-growing perennial provides excellent ground cover in gardens and has lush, green leaves. It quickly spreads to form a fragrant carpet of white or pink-nodding bell-shaped flowers in spring. Lily of the Valley makes a wonderful cut flower for scented, springtime posies, and is a plant traditionally featured in spring wedding bouquets. Lily of the Valley plants have delicate, lightly arched stems can bear up to 12 bell-shaped flowers that are blooming in May and June – each bell comprises six petals, and can grow up to approximately 8 inches or 20cm in height.
