In collaboration with the Natural History Museum Porcelain sculptured lamp Ammonite shape Beautiful glow when lit In-line switch Add a gorgeous subtle glow to your home with this modern yet elegant Ammonite Lamp, made from high quality porcelain in an off white colourway to suit any home interior. This lamp has been inspired by the our British coastlines and the incredible fossils that can be found there. So why not create more history in your home with this beautiful lamp? Natural History Museum x Dunelm Extraordinary treasures can be found along the British coastline. A truly special environment, the shoreline is simply brimming with life both above and below the waves, but with the tide washing twice daily over the shore, it can be an unforgiving place to live. The creatures that reside here must adapt to an ever-changing environment - some have evolved hard outer shells to protect themselves, others such as starfish have developed hundreds of ‘tube feet’ to grip on tightly. From out of reach coastal cliffs and rocky islets teeming with seabirds to the rich and diverse underwater kelp forests that support a variety of marine species, there is incredible wildlife wherever you turn. Through our collection with the Natural History Museum, we want to celebrate the diversity of the UK’s incredible shorelines and highlight some of the threats impacting them and the species that reside there from rising ocean temperatures to acidity levels. © The Trustees of the Natural History Museum, London 20222023. Beautiful Japanese Meiji (1868-1912) Imari Kutani porcelain vase with birds and floral theme by Imura Hikojito . Museum quality, the vase depicts one area with a hand painted perched Kingfisher on a tree branch with flowers and cherry blossoms and one with a Java Sparrow. The bottom base is banded with a gold gilt decoration and the top rim is also trimmed in gold. The vase is 6.5" tall and weighs 1 lb 10 oz before packing. The workmanship is magnificent and very detailed some of the cherry blossoms are raised. It has a very interesting mark and could possibly be from a World Fair exhibit based on another piece with a similar mark that I found. The lettering is just beautiful in and of itself. No chips or cracks/repairs. Some mild wear to enamel painting but overall a very fine piece.
