In 1939, the Nazi German forces began their occupation of Poland. By 1944, the Russians were advancing from the East and the Allies from the West. The Polish Home Army, Armia Krajowa, was a secret rebel force that had been stockpiling weapons, strategizing, and waiting for the opportune moment to…
There is some interest in my new Warsaw Uprising soldiers at Forum Strategie. In that reason I made decision that I will continue this project. It's occasion to present this historical episode. I think that's great idea to translate my post from polish to satisfy all foreign readers. From this time, my posts will be translated to english, including older post from yesterday. So, have a nice reading :) Uczestnicy Powstania Warszawskiego korzystali z elementów uzbrojenia i umundurowania zdobytego na niemieckim okupancie, część mundurów, szczególnie hełmy, zostały wydobyte z kryjówek i pochodziły jeszcze z czasów kampanii wrześniowej. Pewna ilość pochodziła także z brytyjskich zrzutów, zaś partyzanci Armii Ludowej wnieśli także w posagu nieco sprzętu radzieckiego. W sumie uzbrojenie i umundurowanie to zbitka wielu typów broni i mundurów, a także odzieży cywilnej. W miarę możliwości okraszonej polskimi orłami i biało-czerwonymi barwami. Warsaw Uprising participants had elements of captured german arms and uniforms. Some polish uniforms, especcialy helmets, are taken from hides. They were left by polish defenders in 1939 and waited for next fight. There were also some british and soviet stuff and of course civilian clothes. Polish eagles and white and red colours were added to this mix of uniforms. Odpowiadając na szereg pytań dotyczących konwersji moich figurek powstańców, to pochodzą one z zestawów: My figures were taken from Italeri sets: http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=902 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1332 Oprócz zmiany niektórych nakryć głowy, usunąłem wszystkie maski gazowe i niektóre manierki. Cegły są wycięte z korka. I was changed some caps. Gas masks and some equipment were totally removed. Bricks are made from a cork. Oto zestawy, które fantastycznie nadają się do konwersji powstańców: In my opinion, this sets will be excellent for making polish resisters: http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=798 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1387 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1602 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1319 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=361 a także nowy zestaw Caesara - German Army H037. and new Caesar's set - German Army H037. Do czego wszystkich miłośników historii gorąco zachęcam. Interesting bits are chosen from british sets - espiecially PIATs and Stens. From RKKA sets we'll take helmets and SMGs. I think that commander of Italeri PaK 40 will be useful. Also french helmets will be great idea for polish 1939 campaign's veterans. Generally this topic is splendid for creative painters and modellers. So, let's make conversions!
