Hand-signed PRINT of my original portrait, Jack Kerouac, created on a vintage map of Lowell, Massachusetts (where he was born). He emerged from this New England town to become a poetic voice for the beat generation. This is part of a series called World Tour - in which I use pages from an old atlas as canvases - painting images relating to the place on each map. Each archival print is beautifully recreated at original image size, 11" by 14" (a standard framing size) which sits on 13" by 19" piece of paper. I use quality Epson Velvet fine art paper. More sizes are available, please message me for prices. ** all designs, drawings, listing content ©2022 Daniel Baxter all rights reserved**
I consider this internet-based activity for high school students (grades 9-12) to be a webquest. The assignment guides students through a virtual museum exhibit "presented by City Lore and Poets House...Funded by the Bridging Cultures Program of the National Endowment for the Humanities: Exploring the human endeavor, with additional support from the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art." Here is a link to the website to be explored: Poetic Voices of the Muslim World. Skill focuses include literary devices, theme, genre, form, style, history, and more! Personally, I include this activity in my AP Literature class as part of a thematic unit on Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner. Exploring the Poetic Voices in the Muslim World exhibit is an excellent way to help students broaden their understanding of the culture depicted in the novel while continuing to practice their literary analysis skills. Because of this, the assignment has some prompts making connections between the texts, but the novel pairing could easily be left out. PLEASED with this resource? Don't forget to rate and review! One of Andrea Dell’Anna’s posters bears both his design skills and his poetic ones: “the voice of things/ eating power/ loses interest.” Cryptic as it may read, it’s about a phenomenon almost any designer would recognize: the request to come to a client meeting with three options at the ready. “Ever

After catching the attention of the growing Americana-loving audience in Norway with her 2012 debut Golden Town - the title a reference to her mother's hometown Golden, Colorado - Signe Marie Rustad secured her first Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) nomination with critically acclaimed second album Hearing Colors Seeing Noises (2016). On her third album, When Words Flew Freely, Rustad returns with the powerful, elastic voice and poetic lyrical style that has earned her a loyal fan base. The album's nine tracks revolve around traumatic life events, and the feeling of emotional stagnation, with a severe writer's block as a result.
