After making the mini flamingo a few weeks ago I knew we needed a larger version that still works up super quickly! And the free pattern is ready for you today! Meet Fiona the Flamingo, she measures 15 inches tall and is ready to fly. She's a modification from our fun Ballerina Ostrich pattern that was released last year! Just like the mini version her body and head are made as one piece. You will only need to sew her wings, tail and legs! I've also shortened her neck just a smidgen to help keep it strong. Tight stitches and firm stuffing will also hold her head high. This is a beginner pattern with slight sewing and would be a great project if you've been on the fence about trying amigurumi. You can also check out our Tips to Learning Amigurumi to walk you through the basics! This post contains affiliate links, for more information check out our disclosure page here! Thank you so much for supporting Grace and Yarn! Pattern PIN here to save for a later project! Grab the ad-free PDF version in my Etsy or Ravelry shop! Want to be notified of new patterns as they release? Join our newsletter here! You may make and sell items made from this pattern but please do not sell, share or reproduce the actual pattern. If you sell finished items online (Etsy, etc) please provide a link to the pattern and credit to me as the designer, thank you. I hope you enjoy this pattern! Materials - Size 4 worsted weight yarn (125g of pink; small amount of white, grey, and beige) 3.5 mm crochet hook ( I use and love these hooks!) 12mm safety eyes Black crochet/embroidery thread for eyelashes (optional) Scissors Tapestry needle (these bent tips work wonders for amigurumi!) Stuffing Stitch markers Abbreviations - US terminology MC- Magic circle SC- Single crochet SC INC- Single crochet increase INV DEC- Invisible decrease St(s)- Stitch(es) Sl st – Slip stitch NOTES - - Slowlystuff as you go, you want it to be firm but not stretched. I recommend stuffing the body before crocheting the neck. - You will be working in the round; I like to use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round. - The body and head will be made as one piece. I recommend tight stitches and firm stuffing to help avoid a wobbly neck.
