Spool Pin Spring -- provides a smoother flow of thread! Some of the newer thread spools are crosswound which gives them a tendency to wobble on the spool pin while you're stitching. However, if you put this spool pin spring on your spool pin before your thread spool then your thread will flow more smoothly to the needle. When winding a bobbin, you still need to go a bit slower with the newer crosswound thread spools, but this little spring will help considerably! The Grey Dot Sewing Box is a great way to store your threads, needles and other accessories.
This is a vintage hand-made cedar sewing caddy for holding spools of thread and small notions--wonderfully primitive yet fully functional. It stands about 4 inches inches tall including the handle in the middle, and 7 3/8 inches wide. It's 5 1/4 inches from front to back. It has room for 12 spools of thread and perhaps a bobbin or two on the peg underneath the handle. One small shallow drawer pulls completely out and could hold pins, needles or a few other small items. The wood inside the drawer is rough and does not look like it was ever sanded. A small brass tack is used as a knob to pull the drawer out. The varnish is showing some crackle in areas which adds to the primitive charm of this piece. This is a sweet caddy that is ready to be used and loved again! Listing is for sewing caddy only. Please see all photos. I just love Cardcaptors. One day I want to make this particular outfit as a cosplay but for now I shall just be happy with a cross stitch design instead.
