Pojoaque Pueblo, New Mexico (Cultural center) There are lots of really cool adobe buildings in New Mexico. Adobe buildings are made from clay, sand, wood and other natural materials. "Pojoaque Pueblo is one of the six Northern Tewa speaking Rio Grande Pueblos. Archeological studies of the area have dated inhabitation of the historic Pojoaque Pueblo area as early as 500 AD with a large prehistoric population in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. Pojoaque has always maintained a strong cultural identity and was known by its Tewa speaking neighbors as “Po-suwae-geh” the water drinking or gathering place."
Once owned by a television costume designer, this adobe home in New Mexico has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, curved walls and fluted windows. The guest house was built about three years ago. (Visit the House of the Day homepage.) --Sushil Cheema, 12/08/10

The hacienda stylehome is in the Barrio Viejo neighborhood in Tucson, Arizona. Although historically a barrio, the neighborhood has become more upscale as the little houses such as this one are being refurbished. I took my photo during a visit to Tucson in May, 1998. This is probably the most photographed home in Santa Fe, at the corner of Canyon Road and Delgado Street. I've photographed the entrance to this home before, but this simple design to the right of the front gate caught my eye.
A pair of spherical structures nestle together amidst snowy trees in the mountains outside of Questa.
