In February 1976 the team covered an incident outside a pet shop between the shop owner and an S.P.C.A. inspector. This was disputed by the pet shop owner, and a confrontation ensued. In 1977 the team were presented with the Association of Broadcasting Journalists Memorial Award for Television News for their coverage of the story. Judges commented that their entry “was an example of what Television Journalism is all about”. The image was created by the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand and is from a photographic series of various subjects, including: personalities, disasters, industry, and sport.
