My son was baptized last year on the 4th of July... hence the patriotic themed prints! To print your own -click on the picture you want -once it appears bigger, right click on the picture and save to your computer -have it printed at your favorite place *If you print pictures at Costco, make sure the auto correct option is turned off. It is something you will see on one of the last pages before you order that is titled Review and Place Order. Towards the top of the page you will see Print Options. Click on the edit link to the right and check the box "Do not Autocorrect my prints." I've been doing a little more work on the baptism preparation book for our ward. I did a baptism portrait like this for my son when he was baptized. I wanted a picture of him and his Dad in the font, but didn't think it was appropriate to take a photo. My youngest son was baptized this weekend and it reminded me of a poem a wrote years ago. At church, I was working with the children ages 3-12 at the time. Every year we gave a pure, white towel to each child getting baptized. I wanted to add a little something so we attached this poem: It was so sweet to see each child's reaction to their special towel. Hi, friends! I was blessed to be able to attend the baptism of a very dear friend's son this morning, and lead the music. We, of course, gave him our signature baptism gift--gummy bears with "The 3 Bears of Baptism" label I shared previously. He loved the gift, and that spurred me to think about preparing some visuals with each "bear" should I ever be asked to give a talk or teach a lesson about this topic in primary. So...I created some posters and handouts that go along with them! I created three 8.5" x 11" posters and three 2.5" x 3.5" handouts, along with a combined handout that is 7.5" x 3.5". Each background coordinates with a primary color, and I tried to match the "bear" to the color that stands for the same thing. So, red is for courage ("bear" the name of Christ)... ...yellow is for service ("bear" one another's burdens)... ...and blue is for truth ("bear" your testimony). You can access the files HERE. With news this week of the Ogden, Utah Temple Open House, we can't help but be excited for "our" temple, the Payson Utah Temple to be finished. Rumor has it that the Open House (a chance for the public to visit and see inside) will be sometime next Spring (2015). When President Monson announced plans for the construction of a temple in Payson he said: "Temples answer those soul-searching questions of the purpose of life, of why we are here and where we are going." "They are sanctuaries from the storms of life and bless the lives of members of the Church who worship within their sacred walls."

I can't wait until I'm 8! My sister, Merrilee, was asked to speak today at their Stake Baptism Day. We had had the chance to talk prior to today about what she might be able to talk about while giving a talk about the Holy Ghost. We thought it might be fun to use all of the letters in the spelling of Holy Ghost to describe what the Holy Ghost does for each of us. Merrilee took this even further and put together a fun handout for each one of the Primary Children that got baptized. Merrilee purchased pre-cut letters from the craft store and used her Cricut Machine to cut out the letters she placed on them. As she gave her talk she placed the letters up for the children to see.
