Recycled and handmade stitched denim patches. Each one is totally unique. Created using layers and fragments of cotton and denim. Then over stitched with embroidery thread to visibly mend or enhance the designs. Stitching is in the Japanese style of Sashiko, the art of patching using decorative remnants to mend and repair. Suitable for adding to denim clothes as a patch but requires stitching onto your garment, by hand or machine .They could be added to a hat, bag, jacket. They are very raw and a little misshapen so may not to suitable for patching knees. If you would like something more hard-wearing please message me. They measure at least 10.5 cm square. You will be addicted to finding jeans, purses, shirts, jackets and sweaters that you can put a patch on with these Japanese boro stitched patches! I had tremendous success with making face masks with this woven cotton Japanese fabric. I just had to find a way to work with all of my beautiful scraps and came up with the idea of making them into boro patches. I purchased several books and studied this unique and creative way to make patches. Boro is essentially the practice of using a simple running stitch ( a sashiko stitch) to reinforce a textile item using spare or would-be-discarded scraps of fabric. It is a practice that grew out of necessity in medieval Japan. Attach the patch by either hand-sewing right along the edge of the fabric or turning the edge in and sewing to your fabric. If you need the heavy thread I use for stitching, message me and I will send you some at no charge. If you would like a certain print or size on your patch, message me and I will be happy to work with you. ** If what you want is sold out, please keep checking back, I only like to list patches that are done and ready to ship. As soon as I have patches done I will adjust inventory.
