Hardy to 10F and will return, since roots survive. In more temperate climates it is an evergreen screen. Blooms summer to fall with fast growth of 15 feet in first season. The egg shaped orange fruit has deep red edible pulp. Most directions will tell you full sun. Diese sind allerdings nicht zum Verzehr geeignet. Bei der Passiflora caerulea handelt es sich um eine Kletterpflanze, die eine Höhe von ca. 2 bis 4 Meter erreichen kann und ihre Blütenpracht hauptsächlich an sonnigen und hellen Standorten entfaltet. Ein Rückschnitt im Herbst oder Frühjahr ist empfehlenswert und fördert die Bildung von neuen Blüten, die sich bevorzugt an jungen Trieben bilden.   Ältere Gartenpflanzen erweisen sich als besonders robust und überstehen die kalten Monate im Freien. Diese kann ein ausgepflanztes Exemplar in Dortmund auf den Bildern bestätigen, welches dort seit 2009 in einem Bambus wächst. Für Kübelpflanzen und Jungpflanzen im Garten ist ein Winterschutz empfehlenswert. Laut Literatur wird die Frostverträglichkeit mit bis zu -15°C angegeben.   Übrigens: Die Passionsblume ist durch die christliche Vorstellungskraft zu ihrem eindrucksvollen Namen gekommen. Vor langer Zeit sahen die Gläubigen die fünf Staubgefäße als die Wunden Christi an und deuteten die drei Narben der Pflanze als Nägel der Kreuzigung. In der Winterzeit schneiden wir die Pflanze etwas zurück, daher kann die Lieferhöhe etwas variieren und kleiner als angegeben sein.
