In general, the function of the garden is to refresh the atmosphere and provide a sense of comfort. The design of the park itself has many models. The park is a place to play in a house. A place to look for tranquility and fresh, cool atmosphere. So the need for a park, making the garden design provides a lot of inspiration in building a pleasant garden. Parks are always synonymous with plants. Whatever and however the design of the garden that we build, surely the resistance is displayed by a plant, its type, and its color. How a park […]

The ways in which citizens modify public spaces to suit their own needs, whether by creating 'goat trails' in places that lack proper sidewalks or actively 'hacking' infrastructure, tell urban planners how cities need to be adapted and influence their growth. Urban hacktivism is a direct means of shaping cities to our desires, often through temporary - Page 3
Work on functional CV, VC, and multisyllabic words with this fun transportation-themed activity! All of your students will love this activity, but I bet that especially the boys in your therapy room will really connect with it! They'll have a great time "parking" their "cars" while they learn and practice! *************************************************************************** What awesome resources are included? ★ Functional syllable words used with picture visuals ★ Blank cars are provided so you can create your own CV, VC, CVC, etc. ★ Parking lots for 2-, 3-, and 4-syllable combinations ★ Multisyllabic functional words *************************************************************************** How can you use this product? ★ Students can place the cars/vehicles containing the syllables into the parking spaces provided to work on combining syllables. Flags are provided so students know where to “park” their cars. ★ You choose how to use! You can have students move the same syllable into all three spaces to practice the same syllable combined (i.e. “moo-moo-moo”) or mix them for random syllable combinations (i.e. moo-pa-bye”). ★ A different vehicle is used to represent the different sounds targeted for easy sorting. ★ For multisyllabic functional words, students can tap out the spots in the parking lot representing the amount of syllables. The amount of syllables/taps required are represented with “steering wheel” visuals. *************************************************************************** What are other customers saying about this product? "Thank you for creating something that makes repition fun! I have used with 2 little ones with CAS and feedback has been awesome." "I have a child with CAS and Autism who loves parking cars! Did you make this for him?! I've never been able to get so many words and reps out of him until he could 'park' his words! Love this!" "I have a lot of apraxic kids with low visual attention, so the cars are perfect to keep their attention and focus!" *************************************************************************** Want other articulation resources? Our students have a lot of needs and very often have come to us with some level of prompt dependency. It is imperative that we be thoughtful about how to peel away those supports while building independence and functional skills. Many times, our students need supports added in to their instruction and routines in order […]
See if this student sounds familiar to you . . . . Casey the Connector loves to make connections. Casey can make a connection anytime, anywhere, for any lesson you might teach. Casey is the master connector! The only drawback to these wonderful connections is they occur at the most inopportune times . . . by blurting his or her thoughts in the middle of your lesson. As a teacher, you are happy that this obviously very bright student is taking your lesson to a deeper level, but these interruptions upset the flow of the lesson. What is a teacher to do? You don't want to quash his or her enthusiasm, but it can get your class off the topic at hand. Maggie Combs, a SLP in Oregon, who also reads my FB page shared a great suggestion. I asked her if she would care if I shared it on my blog. She graciously agreed to pass along her technique. MAGGIE'S TALKING PARKING GARAGE: Maggie said . . . . Sometimes when I am leading a "carpet time" lesson the kids will start making connections with what I am talking about. It's like having a 'popcorn conversation'. ("My uncle has a motorcycle like that!", or "I did that with my family once!") so I use my talking parking garage. I make a parking strip out of black construction paper. I then divide it with narrow white adhesive strips like parking spaces. Then in each space I put a colored pocket like the old library pockets. I found some calendar pieces of cars. So I glued them to the front of each library pocket. Then when I get a comment that would ordinarily pull us off topic, I interrupt the kiddo and say," Great let's put that in our parking garage." Then on a 3x5 card I write the kid's name and a few key words to remind them of what they had wanted to say. We have a 'talking time' scheduled for later when we briefly talk about our parking garage cars. As they get used to this they will announce, "parking garage" we take down the name and keywords and we continue. I want them to make connections between their life and school so this works great. I love Maggie's idea with the library pockets. If you don't have any library pockets and you need something right now, you can download the picture I made above. Then put the picture in a page protector, keep it on a clipboard, and write on it with a vis-a-vis marker. You can erase the names and notes after you discuss what you put in the talking parking garage. This should work as a temporary solution until you have time to go shopping for the supplies you need. Thank you Maggie for sharing your idea! I am joining the Manic Monday Linky Party. Click on the picture below to find more great freebies.
