Impressive and fun, the Toronja Lamp is 100% handmade in Barcelona from upcycled newspapers Taronja lamp is a fruit of collaboration between designer Manex Bilbao and artisan Maria Fiter. The shape of this side table lamp is inspired by the texture of orange fruit and the similar texture of paper pulp. The main inspiration of the project comes from the relationship between the orange tree that produces the orange as fruit, and paper mache, whose origin also comes from the tree. Therefore, the lines and shapes of this design are based on organic and natural profiles, similar to those of a tree, with its crown and trunk and the texture of the orange peel, which we obtained with paper mache. SPECS TBC STORY The paper-maché lamp refers with its shape and color to one of the planets of the solar system – Jupiter. It dominates with its size over the rest of Crea-Re lamp collection, just as Jupiter the is largest planet in the solar system. Due to an ocher color the lamp gives a pleasant and warm light. Its interior, when lit, seems to radiate the light and the walls of the lamp seem to be golden. The paper used for this creation was destroyed, broken into tiny pieces, then transformed into a whole new material entity by a technique using hot temperature. The "new" paper can be shaped in many different ways and in its final form brings an association with nature, its source. Handmade in Spain. Materials: Recycled paper pulp | Textile cable Color: Yellow Dimensions: 50 cm H x 56 cm D | Cable length: 1 meter Delivery time: 3-4 weeks Origin: Spain Technical information: The internal part of the lampshade has a particular pattern, different and unique in each lamp.
