Hello my crafty friends! It's time for some Paper Pumpkin Possibilities!!! Yayaya!!! I absolutely LOVE seeing what fun alternative projects I can create using the current month Paper Pumpkin kit. And, the designers of the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop do too!! That's right my friends! Today you get a fabulous collection of alternative projects featuring the July Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin kit! It's time for the PPP designer's Blog Hop!! Isn't that box just gorgeous?! That's a little hint at just how beautiful this month's kit is. Truly, truly stunning! And, let's not forget about the add-on Every Celebration dies (item #164991). For only $12 you can get this set of dies that coordinate with the July Painted Petals kit, the August Time For Cake kit, and the September Autumn Abundance kit!!! WHOA!!! That's pretty awesome!! Funny story about these dies....... I had ordered them and stuck em in a tray on my desk a couple weeks ago. I'm thinkin' i'm ready for July's kit to get here, right? Well, when it came time to play with my kit, I completely forgot about the dies and I fussy cut that flower!!! UGH!!! Don't be like Dana. Get the dies and USE THEM! lol. I'm working on additional alternatives and can you believe that the flower is SO MUCH EASIER to cut with the dies????? HAHAHAHA!! Here's your reminder to get them and USE THEM! You're welcome! ;-) For my alternative project today, I brought in the Spotlight On Nature Dies. These circle frames are absolutely GORGEOUS and coordinate beautifully with this stunning kit. This circle is 3 1/4". I love the different borders on the dies! There's a wonderful variety within the sizes! Outside of the kit, you'll need: * 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" THICK Basic White Cardstock (scored in half at 4 1/4") * 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Basic White to die cut the 3 1/4" circle * 5 1/4" x 1/2" Basic White for the strip near the bottom of the card * Scraps of Basic White Cardstock to stamp and cut two of the flowers from the kit (AND DIES!! HA!) * 1/8" Gold Trim from the Gold/Silver Trim Combo Pack Everything else, came from the kit itself. I cut one of the Melon Mambo card bases apart and used the back side for the front panel of this card. I cut a 1/4" strip of the long side and used that strip to decorate the inside of my card. Then I cut a 1/4" strip off the short side to make the panel 5 1/4" x 4". After attaching the 1/2" white strip to the panel, I attached it to the card front. I stamped and colored two sets of flowers in Memento Ink and Melon Mambo & Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers. Use the dies, people! lol. If you don't have the dies, or REALLY don't wanna get em, you can totally fussy cut them. But I'm tellin' ya, you WANT the dies!! I stuck one of the flowers directly onto the die cut circle, and attached the other with glue on the stem and dimensionals behind the flowers. Attaching it this way allows me to adhere my label over top without having to add even more dimension than I already did. It's a genius way of creating a look with flowers that really helps cut the bulk of your card. The Circle is attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I tied a big loop bow with the Gold Trim and attached it next to the circle with a glue dot. I love those things for bows!!! As you can see from the photos, I stamped that little diagonal lines strip on one of the Melon Mambo labels from the kit. That, and the sentimens on the front label and the inside were stamped in the Gray Granite ink that came with the kit. Both the label strip and the sentiment strip were attached with dimensionals to the card front. The finishing step was adding a few of those pretty little adhesive sequins from the kit. Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities blog hop! I am so excited to have joined this team of hoppers sharing alternative designs for each month's Paper Pumpkin kit. This is such a great month to start - as the kit is nothing short of AMAZING!! Hopefully what we show will inspire you. Be sure to hop all the way through to see what this amazing team has come up with! Here is the unboxing video - so you can see all that is included and how the kit can come together. VIDEO ~*~*~*~*~ So - this kit was so beautiful on it's own - that really no alternatives were needed - but I decided to bring in my favorite new InColor, Summer Splash. I used the Daisy diecut piece from the kit and added it to a card front with a strip of the Summer Splash Glimmer paper 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" that was popped up on dimensionals. I like the way it shows off a different color scheme from the original kit. I added a strip of Unbounded Beauty DSP - 1/2" x 5 1/2" on each side leaving white showing between each section. Then finished it off with a sentiment from the kit on a 7/8" x 2 3/8" strip. A final little bit of bling was added with 3 of the orange tinted sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins pack. ~*~*~*~*~ Then (because I couldn't stop playing) I also took the adorable stamp set in the kit and made this set of 3x3" notes, perfect to add to any small gift you are giving - the colors of blends I used for coloring are Cajun Craze, Highland Heather and Poppy Parade. The add-on dies from this quarter's add-on die option, cut the flower out and made it quick and easy for these to come together. I popped those flowers up on a stamped layer using dimensionals, and added a bit of twine colored with the same blends and tied in a bow - and voila! I hope you've enjoyed these alternative ideas. July 18th, 2024 On my Weekly Wednesday Night Crafting Video I opened my Paper Pumpkin Kit and created the 3 designs....... This month's Kit is gorgeous. This Kit includes supplies to make 9 cards and envelopes. These cards are just gorgeous, they have some lovely images with a watercolour look which I love as I am not very artistic in that way! Watch the Unboxing Video Here As usual I love to make alternative cards with the kit, below are some of the alternative ideas I have so far....... Alternate card 1 I trimmed the frame off for this card and cut the card base to 4" x 5 1/4" the front of the card was cut in half and I added a 1/2" strip of Mossy Meadow. I adhered the ribbon to the card base and adhered it to a larger 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Mossy Meadow card base. Alternate card 2 For card #2, I coloured the frame with a Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend Marker. The card base is Berry Burst 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" I had a basic White 4" x 5 1/4" which had already been embossed with the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder and coloured with Old Olive. The Thank You is from the Thoughtful moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. Alternate card 3 The centre of this card was cut out with the Countryside Corners die. The card base is Mossy meadow 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Alternate card 4 I used the same Countryside Borders dies to make this fun shaped card. The card base is Pretty In Pink die cut with the largest die. ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ The August Paper Pumpkin Kit This is a Birthday Themed Kit and a fun fold! The Paper Players ask for a "Sentiment Only" card in their challenge this week, and I love this idea because there are many times when you want the sentiment to be the focal point. I chose a very special sentiment from "Banner Blessings", and I paired it with images from the pretty new set "Painted Blooms". Already these are a few of my favorite things, but I also love to put green and navy together - this is Wild Wasabi with Night of Navy, and the flowers are Rose Red. Hi friends! So, I had a bit of an unexpected blogging break--sometimes life just takes over, right? I'm back today with my gal pals over at The Paper Players where Claire has a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us: So many different directions to go! Choosing three across the bottom: flowers, pink and polka dots here's what I came up with: These colors are so soft and pretty together aren't they? Believe it or not this is my first time inking up the Painted Petals stamp set and can see lots of potential with it! The leaves and stems were stamped in Wild Wasabi while the flowers were stamped in Blushing Bride. My accent stripes were stamped in So Saffron as were the row of polka dots on the base. This card is really very simple but shows off the stamps in this set to a good advantage. I love the triple line stamp--what a great accent image! All it needed were a few pearl centers to dress it up a bit. I used a few more of those grid lines on the inside--really like how easy it is to create a gingham look with the triple line image. Now, I have to admit that I feel as though I cheated just a bit....as I originally designed this card--with different colors--for my stamp club gals. I CASE'd myself! I thought you might like to see the original: It's amazing how much the look and feel of the card is changed by the colors isn't it? Here, I used Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss. Aren't they pretty together?! Maybe it's because of the darker colors but this one has a more dramatic feel, doesn't it? Experimenting with color is so much fun! And, I know you will have a lot of fun checking out the eye candy from the rest of The Paper Players design team. Be sure to pop over and take a peek!
