Hafa Adai! That's pronounced like "have a day" and is Chamorro for "Hello!" This Thursday we're throwin' it back to last week and our winter getaway to beautiful Guam, USA! This trip was longer than most of our trips--over six days in one place! I almost didn't know how to handle that much time in one place, but after a few days, we really got into this whole relaxing vacation thing.

It’s midwinter, and the wanderlust is in full force. Nothing sounds better than an al fresco dinner at a pretty open air venue with family and friends. Or perhaps an Italian getaway to Umbria’s Ristorante la Badia Orvieto (captured by Anna Ambrosi). Pretty PUHLEASE. Might as well put all this scrolling to good use and share them with...
You've got limited time and so much you want to see around London, Dublin, Wales that the only real way to go is a British Isles cruise.
When should you stay at Ashford Castle? You can't go wrong at any time, but I highly recommend Halloween when the kids can go to Wizarding School in this Ireland castle hotel.
…Or 72 if you’re feeling leisurely! So, towards the end of last year Joe and I booked our first ever trip to Scotland- and couldn’t have been more excited! With a visit to the capital on our agenda, we settled on a wee two night break to the city- and couldn’t have had a nicer stay. With plenty of wonderful recommendations from Twitter and Instagram (thank you, if you suggested anything)- we were quick to whip up a huge list of hot spots- so couldn’t help but put together a little guide over our time, in hope that if anyone else is planning a visit it could inspire some stop offs! Resting your head: Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa When it comes to chain hotels and anything with more than 10 rooms, it’s very easy to be lured into thinking it’ll be a sixties carpeted corporate shebang- but with the Sheraton, it’s anything but. With a huge spa (I may have taken advantage of the sauna), stunning modern bedrooms which boast breathtaking castle views and staff so lovely they’ll bring you a toothbrush last thing at night (ahem)- it was a wonderfully safe bet when staying in a new city. Venice (Italian: Venezia [veˈnɛttsja] , Venetian: Venexia [veˈnɛsja]) is a city in northern Italy known both for tourism and for industry, and is the capital of the region Veneto, with a population of the whole Comune of about 270,660 (census estimate 30 April 2009). Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area (PATREVE) (population 1,600,000). The name is derived from the ancient people of Veneti that inhabited the region as of 10th century B.C. The city historically was the capital of the Venetian Republic. Venice has been known as the "La Dominante", "Serenissima", "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Masks", "City of Bridges", "The Floating City", and "City of Canals". Luigi Barzini, writing in The New York Times, described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man". Venice has also been described by the Times Online as being one of Europe's most romantic cities. The city stretches across 117 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. The saltwater lagoon stretches along the shoreline between the mouths of the Po (south) and the Piave (north) Rivers. The population estimate of 272,000 inhabitants includes the population of the whole Comune of Venezia; around 60,000[5] in the historic city of Venice (Centro storico); 176,000 in Terraferma (the Mainland), mostly in the large frazioni of Mestre and Marghera; and 31,000 live on other islands in the lagoon. The Republic of Venice was a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and a staging area for the Crusades and the Battle of Lepanto, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain and spice trade) and art in the 13th century up to the end of the 17th century. This made Venice a wealthy city throughout most of its history. It is also known for its several important artistic movements, especially the Renaissance period. Venice has played an important role in the history of symphonic and operatic music, and it is the birthplace of Antonio Vivaldi. www.jekaworldphotography.com/
