"It often happens to children and sometimes to gardeners that they are given gifts of value of which they do not perceive until much later." ~ Wayne Winterrowd ~ Isn't this graphic of a little girl with her wheelbarrow so sweet? I came up with a few options for you. The tag above, and two graphics below, which could be used as cards or a place for notes: one version plain, and the other lined. Here are the ready-to-print options, in the same order as above. Here are the free sources I used: *Vintage Images* Girl with wheelbarrow & Spring flowers *The Graphics Fairy* Back of an old photograph *Lilac & Lavender* Antiqued lined paper I also scanned a green fabric-lined book cover, which I used as the frame around the cards. Here is that 8"x8" image: I do want to say... I'm unsure as to the age of the little girl graphic. It may be from the 1930's or later and therefore not out of copyright. That's why it's important to use these graphics for personal use only. Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Hello! It started with one Bunny brooch and then all of a sudden there were three! Each one sporting very characterful ears. All three have hopped over to Etsyland. ~0~ Now for something completely different... I am very happy to tell you I have booked my first workshop. I have created a new blog, devoted to details etc. of the workshops. Going to see how this one goes before booking more, but I do so hope that holding workshops will be a regular thing. The venue is at weston-park A beautiful stately home on the border of Staffordshire and Shropshire. I have booked a classroom in the grounds, which borders the woods and is connected to the Granary Grill and Shop. The first workshop will be Haberdashery Brooches. Here is the kind of thing I had in mind... I want the workshop to be a chance to play, be inspired by others and enjoy the opportunity to be amongst like minded, enjoying a day of uninterrupted creativity. The link for further details, if you fancy a peek, is just under the header. So excited! ~0~ Finally, I have these cards for sale in my shops, not just for Valentine's Day ... any day. Thank you so much for stopping by. x Kate Bush

A little bit of a Christmas house tour with these photo's today! For the last week or so I've been working on another EPP project in the form of these super cute stockings. They were really enjoyable to make and I'm so pleased that they turned out exactly as I'd hoped :) I was completely inspired by these stockings I came across on Etsy, they are made from a recycled vintage quilt, which is such a great idea! Since I don't have a collection of old quilts I thought I would make new 'old' ones. I used 2" 8-point diamond paper pieces to baste the diamond shapes and then laid them randomly on the white stocking background (although they were placed to look like they would form a quilt, so they would have joining intersections if you catch my drift?). I then machine quilted the paper pieced sections, and hand quilted a petal design using this quilting stencil. To give it a nice vintage feel, I wiped it with a clean wet cloth and gave it a good scrunch and left it to air-dry naturally. I did the same for the back too, and tried my hand at baptist fan quilting. I love the effect it gives, and it's quite a manageable quilting style so I'm hoping to try it on a full size quilt soon :) I hope you like our little house too! It's been fun decorating it for Christmas this year as I've made a few more quilty things to have out on display, including the Radiant Star mini quilt on the wall. I was so excited to hang this! and my red and white pillow. I think you can tell it's a quilter's house! xo

Another bird we learned about this week was the peacock. The art project was so cute. First the kids colored a coffee filter with markers and I sprayed them with water. While that was drying, they put together the body. I just cut one free-hand. It reminds me of a short bowling pin. They glued on a beak and eyes and picked out some cocktail toothpicks for the crest. Those are taped on the back of the head. When the coffee filter was dry, they glued the body to it. Then they picked out two colors of paint for the eyespots on the feathers. In one color, they dipped in their thumb and made thumb prints on the coffee filter around the peacock body. In the other color they dipped in their pinky and made pinky prints inside the thumb prints. I got the idea for the fingerprint eyespots from DLTK. In the past I've also had legs available for them to glue on, but I didn't do it this year. And that's our peacock craft! What do you think? Fun Fact: Peafowl are among the largest birds that can fly. The males are peacocks, the females are peahens, and the babies are peachicks.
