The Old Stone Church, Public Square's oldest building, is celebrating 200 years of community service and its role in shaping the city we know today.
In the center of the small town of Siena sits Borgo San Felice, an ancient Tuscan stone village dating back to Medieval times. Now a luxury relais & chateau, this historical, vine hill studded site was the perfect destination for #CeciBride Johanna whose love story traced to the region of Tuscany after she and her fiance settled in their home country of Germany. The breathtaking scenery of this place is adorned with traditional Italian style architecture and complete with a charming stone church and plaza for special events of all kinds. For their romantic, old-world Italy fiesta themed wedding, Johanna and fiancé Marc cherished every detail, small and large. On their special day, the bridal party walked through the strings of ivy-covered villas toward the intimate ceremony where guests sat underneath a white wood crafted altar simply finished with lush greenery. Our pearl shimmer programs featured the signature watercolor olive branches that decorated the invitation suite as well as the couple’s custom monogram crest. The flower girls sprinkled white and blush petals down the aisle in white lace dresses adorned with deep emerald green satin ribbon. The bride arrived in a classic lace and satin gown with exquisite detailed embroidery and pops of pink in her fresh bouquet. After exchanging vows, the celebration moved to the open-air stone streets of the old village in front of the church. Grand arrangements of white florals cascaded down from trellises above the guest's heads. Glass lanterns held small candles that brought warmth to the bright centerpieces. Escort cards with the same olive branch detailing led friends and family to their long tables that pointed towards the dance floor in a semi-circular shape. Orchids framed silver lined plates that held our custom painted menus with coordinating olive flourishes. Guests were served authentic Italian pasta that perfectly fit this Tuscan styled dinner. To finish the night, the couple danced beneath the stars on a shining mirrored floor that glowed amongst the chateau’s candlelit villas. With their loved ones gathered around, there could not have been a more picturesque moment for the newlyweds to look up between the cypress trees and watch spectacular fireworks light up the sky. This one of a kind Italian wedding certainly had its own fairytale ending. Castle Rising Castle is situated in the village of the same name in Norfolk, UK. It was built in about 1138 by William d Albini, 1st Earl of Arundel, who also owned Arundal Castle. Much of its square keep, surrounded by a defensive mound, is intact, and it is now in the care of English heritage. The castle is in remarkably good condition despite being over 850 years old. One of the most striking features is the earthwork surrounding the moat. The built up soil is now covered in grass for aesthetic reasons. There is a gravel path at the top of the built-up area, which enables the visitor to walk right round the building, getting not only a good view of the castle, but also of the village itself
El poble de Pals és un dels més arreglats de l'Empordà i de tot Catalunya. Architecture is meant to fulfill both practical and expressive requirements, and thus it serves both utilitarian and aesthetic purposes. When you look at a structure, you can distinguish these two ends but they cannot be separated, and the relative weight each of them carry can vary widely. Plus, every society has its own, unique relationship to the natural world and its architecture usually reflects that as well, allowing people from other places to learn about their environment, as well as history, ceremonies, artistic sensibility, and many aspects of daily life.
This spot is gorgeous.
