This wonderful biographical illustration was carefully removed from an old book published in the 1930s. It is an original book page, not a copy, reproduction or digital image. This page is 2 sided. One side shows a portrait and short biography of King Francis I and the other side shows a portrait and a short biography of Henry Ford. You decide which side to display. The page does not come matted or framed. The approx. size of the page is 7" x 10" (17.78 cm x 25.4 cm). There are some minor stains, creases and rips around the border of the page, but they could be easily covered with some matting and a frame. These pages would be lovely matted, framed and hung in a group. This is a very long process, thank you for being patient! My blog was marked as spam by Pinterest so I have to start over again : ) A collection of my hand-drawn/written spell book pages. Most of these spells/tips/information on all-things-witchy came from Pinterest. I altered some ideas and added ingredients to the spells/sachets. And there are [MANY] errors that give it "character". I've been working on the spell book for over two years (summer 2018) and will keep updating the spell pages as they are completed. *Might sell this book and start over...because who doesn't have 2+ years of free time?! Kidding, but I still might sell this book and other mini versions of it (another project) in the future. Currently on page 116 of 146 All of the pages are named so if you're having a hard time finding that Pin on Pinterest just search for it by the Pin name (ctrl+F). I also made the photos extra large so it would be easier for you to read. Title page Behind the title page is my (empty) table of contents. I plan on filling this in when I complete the book. Also you can see how the marker bled through on the title page, I switched up the marker (half way through) but this caused me to want to fill out the pages before I bind the book the next round! **I had planned on writing on both of the front and back pages but after starting to write with various markers and pens I noticed they bled through the other side. If you wish to write on both sides try sticking with a school marker (my sheet above in brown marker didn't bleed through). The Pagan Calendar; I messed up the orginal page when I was drawing the icons, so I cut out a circle in scrap paper and glued it on top. Types of Witches The 13 Witches Runes The 13 Witches Runes The 13 Witches Runes Witches Tools Kitchen Witchery = Magical Uses for Household Herbs Poisonous Herbs The Pentagram Also a nice example of the wear & tear my book as endured, see the watermark on "Air". Here's an example of how I used scrap paper to cover up my mistakes: From my old blog "And I messed up (not just once) When I was drawing out the Pentagram I messed up one the bottom left leg and tried to fix it by adding a criss-cross design to all the legs...ugh After a couple of days I decided I just couldn't live with it anymore! So I cut out a circle from my extra dyed paper stash and used a glue stick to cover it up." Hi again everyone! I'm working on a project that I will be sharing with you in the near future. But for now, I wanted to share with you one of the steps I am doing in preparation for this project ... aging paper. There are several Youtube videos about this topic but I figured why not just post a couple of pictures and some brief descriptions so you don't have to look it up. A QUICK AND EASY WAY TO "AGE" PAPER BY COFFEE STAINING IT Supplies You Will Need For This Technique Some sort of paper Trays with a deeper side to allow you to pour coffee into the tray Instant or brewed coffee Wax paper, freezer paper or some protective covering for your counter top to lay drying paper 200 degree oven - use oven mitts to work with trays in oven Begin with your book text ... or any paper for that matter. I needed 8 1/4" x 5 1/4" pages so I used a kraft knife to cut them from a hard back book. I will save the book cover and use it to make some sort of junk journal or altered book in the future. Next ... Use instant or brewed coffee for this step. I used brewed coffee (made a bit strong) and poured it into a tray with at least a 1" side. Put enough coffee into the tray to cover your paper. I also like to add some coffee grounds that help make the coffee mix stronger as you are using it. Place papers in the tray and be sure they are covered with coffee. I usually put up to six pages at a time. Let soak for 8-10 minutes. (You might want to turn the papers over about half way through but that is optional). Hold the papers up over the coffee and let the excess drain off of them. Lay them on a different cookie sheet or tray. Do not overlap them. Place them in a preheated oven of 200 degrees. Let them "dry"in the oven for 8-10 minutes. My papers on the lower rack dried first. Repeat this process until all of your papers have been stained and dried. *Watch the papers to see how quickly they dry. Everyone's oven heats differently. Once the papers are dry from the oven, place them on a piece of wax paper or a counter to totally dry. If you have any coffee grounds remaining on them, they will easily just brush right off. Once the papers are completely dry, you can stack them for later use. And here is my stack of papers; ready for my project! Fun and easy to do! Have fun with this technique. It's easy and really not a big mess at all!
