Would you like to decorate your classroom with fun, hand-drawn anchor charts/posters? Do you simply not have the time to get them done? Well, you have come to the perfect place! I love making these engaging and appealing anchor charts. I also can draw/create any other topic you would like, just contact me directly and ask! My students absolutely love these posters and references them every day. Many of them are visual learners, so the colorful images really help them connect and remember what they have learned. This particular anchor chart is for readers/writers learning all about figurative language. These skills are always such a fun unit, so my students always have such a fun time with this anchor chart! They really love the pictures that go along with each skill as well. **These will be copies unless asked otherwise for a custom poster. They are not laminated, and are printed on normal, anchor chart paper. I ship these out ASAP after being ordered, but please keep in mind once shipped, it is outside of my control. Therefore, if shipping does not meet your expectations, I highly encourage you to please reach out to me first, and we have always been able to work something out to make up for anything that may have occurred after I have sent your package, thanks so much!! Hope you love it :)

Students will love creating this Hot Air Balloon Flip Up Craft for Read Across America Week or after reading the book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go" by Dr. Seuss. Simply, print pages on different colored cardstock and let the students mix and match to create a one-of-a-kind hot air balloon. What's included: ►Templates to create a 4-page Hot Air Balloon Flip Up Craft ►Different questions and options for each page ►Colorful Poster with a quote from the book ►A separate page with additional Comprehension Questions ►Directions and sample photos ►For each page of the craft, there are three options to mix and match questions. Directions: ►Read the story, Oh, The Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss. ►Print out the Hot Air Balloon pages on colored cardstock pages. I like to use different colored cardstock and let the students mix and match as desired. ►Have the students answer the questions on each page (circle) and share their answers with the class. ►Build the flip-up balloon so that each circle overlaps at the top and staple it at the top of the balloon. ►Tape 4 strings, twine, or ribbons to the back of the basket and to the back of the largest circle so that the word “GO!” is in the middle. ►Add a second basket on the backside to hide the strings and give it added support. ►Display your hot air balloons around the classroom or on a bulletin board, if desired. You can use the poster with the quote from the book as part of the display. What a fun activity to accompany such an inspirational book. I like to keep a schedule during the summer. The kids are used to schedules during the school year, and I think it's good for them to stay on a schedule so that they keep productive. So this is our schedule - In the morning they have to get ready, practice their piano lessons, do their chores and Steve has them doing Khan Academy each day. Khan Academy is an amazing math program that is free and online. The kids love it because they earn money from Steve for each module they complete. Check out the site HERE. After the morning routine, we can have fun in the afternoon. I made long lists under five different categories, Oh the Food we will Eat, Oh the Service that can be Done, Oh the Places we will Go, Oh the Crafts we will Make, and Oh the Activities we will Do. On Sunday we go over our lists together and decide which idea we will do for each day. It's just one category per day, but some days we can combine a couple. This last week as we were planning it was interesting to hear the kids. "Let's do a food category on Thursday since it's a Screen Day" and "Let's go somewhere on a day that's not a Screen Day." They are thinking, those kids of mine. (Screen Days are days that they can watch TV and play on the computer. They are on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. Time on those are still limited though) I like the advanced planning so that I can get everything ready for whatever we need to do. Some are easy and we can combine a few ideas. I didn't designate specific days of the week as specific days for each of our categories like past years. We decide on Sunday what day will be what, this way we can plan with friends' schedules, the weather, etc. I just know if I don't have my lists and get the activities on the calendar, they just don't happen and get forgotten about. I'm excited to add service to our list this summer. The list contains ideas like taking balloons to the hospital and giving them to someone that the nurses say needs them - to passing out popsicles at the park. We have just compiled A LOT of things that we want to do before the summer is gone, AND I'm excited to say that we are already checking quite a few off the list. Just send a dollar through PayPal with your email and I will email you the lists in a Word Document.

The 41,170-acre Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness is a remote desolate area of steeply eroded badlands which offers some of the most unusual scenery found in the Four Corners region. Time and natural elements have etched a fantasy world of strange rock formations and fossils. It is an ever-changing environment that offers the visitor a remote wilderness experience. www.blm.gov/nm/bisti
