Official trophy of the eighteenth national Saengerfest of the Northeastern Saengerbund : held in Philadelphia, Pa., June 21st to 26th, (inclusive) 1897. this metal bust of Mozart was the City prize for the 18th Sangerfest. Over 120 years old this is really a special piece. The purpose of the Saengerfest was to exchange visits among the various German singing societies so they could hear one another and celebrate their German heritage. Recently, I had my first chance to visit the Bradford County Museum in Towanda, Pennsylvania. And, as I so often like to do when visiting a new area of the state for the first time, I sought out the local historical society to learn a bit more about the area's history.
There would be a hell of a lot more of these and a less rushed composition if it wasn't for the cops coming and bitching at me for being on the property. I was on site for about 5 min before it became a game of catch me if you can for about 30 min.
