Are you looking for meaningful reading comprehension activities that require no prep and are fun for students? This set might be just what you are looking for! These booklets are something I use with my second graders on a weekly basis. The best thing is my students love them! This resource includes: 17 Printable Booklets 17 Digital versions (Google Slides™) Spanish printable and digital versions Use them for: A whole group activity while reading your story of the week. Literacy stations for the students to complete on their own. As an activity after a read aloud. Recording sheets in your listening station. Early finisher activities. Homework These comprehension activities make it easy to differentiate for all of your students! Some feedback from amazing teachers like you: ★★★★★ Amanda S. I used these as a writing and reflecting portion of our guided reading. The kids loved making their little books that they could keep. It added an extra incentive to the lesson and heightened engagement. ★★★★★ Lisa J. Thank you for this resource. I love how easy it is to print and use with my students. They love writing in "little books" and it makes writing about the stories we read more fun and engaging for them. ★★★★★ Kelsey H. These comprehension books were a go to activity for me this past year teaching 1st grade. I kept class sets of each book copied and stored at all times. I originally purchased this product for the purpose of challenging my higher readers during/after our DI time. As the school year went on this product became something all of my students were able to use. We used the booklets to respond to our grade level reading, as an independent practice after DI, as an assessment for reading skills and I also left a booklet to be completed each time I had a sub. This product is clear and easy to use, it requires minimal directions which saves me time but also makes it an ideal assignment for when I can't be in the classroom. I look forward to using this product again this school year! One sweet teacher mailed them to her students when school was closed and this is the feedback she received from a student: I mailed a couple to each student as a choice versus their online writing - one parent reported their child said, “This is more like it!” Please note: The printable booklets are saved as a PDF and are not editable. The digital versions are saved in Google Slides™. They contain editable fields that your students can type into.

When we were in school, most of us encountered word problems in math class. The first step in solving the problem was to clarify what it was really asking. Only then could we calculate the answer. …

\"What would happen if I decided to only do things out of love for a whole month? Even things I don't really like to do? And if a whole lot of people would do the same thing, how would our behavior change? Would the world be a better place? Would we have more peace? More understanding? More happiness and meaning in our lives?\" Quincy turns these questions over and over in his mind and then he's sure: \"I want to start a project, a project called 'Inspired by Love - One Month.'\" And that's how Quincy starts to change the world.
Like most broad statements, answering this question is not as straight forward as it may at first seem. The key to understanding how you can improve your singing has a lot to do with first diagnosing what your problem areas are. However, as a rule I can say that healthy practise that uses the fundam

Four years ago, I was obese. I was also so chronically unfit that I couldn't manage more than one flight of stairs without getting seriously out of breath. I was eating my way to a whole host of health problems and my knees were knackered. Now nearly four years on, I am over 80lbs lighter and a whole heck of a lot fitter. I'm now training to be a Personal Trainer so that I can help other people like me. This is why I have written this book. Along the way I learned a lot, and came up with some ideas of my own about how and why people lose weight....and how you can do the same. This is my story. | Author: Gemma Dale | Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform | Publication Date: Feb 17, 2017 | Number of Pages: 104 pages | Language: English | Binding: Paperback | ISBN-10: 1543184545 | ISBN-13: 9781543184549
The opening sentence of a science fiction novel, perhaps more than any other genre, has a lot of work to do. Like all good fiction, it needs to hook you, jolt you into the story and establish the tone. Yet it also needs to get you interested in a whole new alternative world, a place where you'll live for the duration of the book. It's a big ask. Nonetheless, there are some masterly examples of opening lines that do that and more. Here's ten which quite literally take our breath away.

Download a free sample of Drowsy Maggie from this collection by ordering the free M4YV Welcome Packet. Let’s Fiddle!!!, composed & arranged by Heather Figi, is a 26-page *eBook comprising 10 different fiddle tunes offered in 18 different versions for beginning-level violin. This playful collection of new and old fiddle tunes is about as fun as it gets! 🎵 Hear what other musicians are saying about Let's Fiddle!!!: "I bought "Let's Fiddle" on the recommendation of my daughter's violin teacher. It was easy to download and print at home. My daughter really likes playing the pieces from this book, especially "Boil Them Cabbage Down." - Deborah C. "I loved the tune Boil them Cabbage down in this book. It was a great way to introduce my students to double stops and encourage tall knuckles in their left hand. Something I feel like I'm telling them that over and over but with this tune you can't get that E string to vibrate if your left hand is getting in the way; so it made that point for me so I didn't have to! So thanks! The whole book is fabulous and a great addition to any teaching repertoire." - Maria D. "Firstly, I am very much an aging novice at fiddle/ violin. I bought this selection of tunes with a view of being able to play them sometime down the line. Some I had heard of, others less so. The pdf booklet is very well laid out with some tunes notated in more than one key. I think I will find those tunes notated by finger position useful in the first instance and I am really looking forward to having a go at these ones." - Joe W., Scotland "As a band-suddenly-turned-orchestra teacher, I had to find a lot of resources to become more proficient on the string instruments as well as immersing myself in all things orchestra. LET'S FIDDLE is exactly what I needed to become more familiar with the style and how it is played. It starts simple but then has a natural difficulty progression so I can keep steadily improving for months to come! Finally, the purchasing/download process was so easy and I even got a nice letter with awesome stickers! What a treat! Thank you for making me a better player and teacher! :)" - Lisa H. The tunes featured in Let's Fiddle!!!: 1- Boil Them Cabbage Down (3 Versions + Lyrics) 2- Cripple Creek 3- Drowsy Maggie 4- Fiddle Cat & Fiddle Cat + Lyrics 5- Fiddle Dog 6- Irish Washerwoman (in the keys of A & D Major) 7- Mississippi Reel & Backwards Motif Variation 8- Old Joe Clark 9- Smash the Windows 10- Road to Lisdoonvarna Additional versions with added fingerings: 1- Boil Them Cabbage Down 2- Cripple Creek 3- Fiddle Cat 4- Fiddle Dog 5- Old Joe Clark Bonus Duets: 1-Cripple Creek (2 versions) 2- Fiddle Twinkle 3- Old Joe Clark Let's Fiddle!!! is also offered in a Fiddle Music Bonus Bundle, which features 3 exciting fiddle collections for the price of 2 - learn more HERE. * Please note this eBook is a digital download, and no physical item will be mailed to you. After writing my first book \"All About Me in Poetry Form\", I figured I would move on to something else.I am in a different place emotionally at the moment. I see some things a whole lot clearer than I had in the past, not 'all' the time or 'every' thing however, enough to know when things are changing. If you read my book you should be able to understand my thoughts and feelings about being sick and unemployedBeing unemployed to me is like being a fish out of water. It doesn't change the way it looks immediately but having no water will indeed change its behavior.A lot of what I write comes from my true life's journey, feelings and beliefs however some of what you're reading comes from inner thoughts, wishes and dreams. I have even combined my emotions, feelings and thoughts into some of my writings so that you, my reader, can see, feel and think just as I see, feel and think. Well though I am unique nonetheless, I'd like for your imagination to take you on an interesting memorable journey.

There's no other word as appropriate for this duo... readers will likely clamour for the next outing' - Starred Review, Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books 'Bantering dialogue entertains throughout, but the book's best moment might belong to the third story, when Narwhal lends Jelly his "favourite book in the whole wide water, which is blank...". "It's an imagination book, Jelly!" Narwhal explains. Readers ready for underwater goofiness of the non-SpongeBob variety will be eager for more adventures from this duo' - Publishers Weekly Ben Clanton is the author/illustrator of the NARWHAL AND JELLY early graphic novel series as well as IT CAME IN THE MAIL, VOTE FOR ME!, and REX WRECKS IT. Available September 11, 2018. There is a lot of pressure in today’s society for kids to succeed, but failing is a part of learning how to be a successful person. In his teaching career, Luke Reynolds saw the stress and anxiety his students suffered over grades, fitting in, and getting things right the first time. Fantastic Failures was created for these students to learn that their mistakes and failures do not define their whole lives but help them grow into their potential. Kids will love learning about some of the well-known people who failed before succeeding and will come to understand that failure is a large component of success. With stories from people like J. K. Rowling, Albert Einstein, Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln, Vincent Van Gogh, Julia Child, and Steven Spielberg, each profile just proves that the greatest mistakes and flops can turn into something amazing. Intermixed throughout the fun profiles, Reynolds spotlights great inventors and scientists who discovered and created some of the most important medicines, devices, and concepts of all time, including lifesaving vaccines and medicines that were stumbled upon by mistake. Reynolds's engaging, youthful voice pulls kids into each anecdote much in the same way bestselling Girls Who Rocked the World and Boys Who Rocked the World do, making the teaching moments feel more like a friend just retelling a story. Each profile is followed up with advice on how to come back from your own flops and move forward to succeed. "An upbeat, reassuring showcase of notable, successful people who refused to let adversities and setbacks stand in their way." —Kirkus Reviews "Failure is the new success. (Translation: Success is a long, mistake-ridden path through trial and error.) Failure is trending now and Luke Reynolds is ready to ride the wave. Writing with an eye toward including younger readers (he begins with J.K. Rowlings’ story), he tells customers of all ages that failure is a learning experience and not a sign of defeat. Recounting thirty-five notable examples (including Nelson Mandela, Vincent Van Gogh, Christopher Reeves, Temple Grandin, Steven Spielberg, Rosa Parks, and Seabiscuit), he adds a multitude of shorter “Flop Files” (which include Steve Jobs, Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Child, Vera Wang, and Conan O’Brien) to let your customers know that not getting it right the first time is a valuable prerequisite for ultimately achieving their goals. Those first mistakes are often crucial to uncovering the ultimate path to success. Exercises for recognizing the gems-in-the-darkness and maximizing re-do efforts are woven throughout this inspiring tome." —Anna Jedrziewski, Retailing Insight

'A whole lot more than just a spy thriller, wrapping together the ties of family, of love and of country' Barack Obama 'There has never been anything like it' Marlon James 'A compelling read' Mail on Sunday What if your sense of duty required you to betray the man you love? It's 1986, the heart of the Cold War. Marie Mitchell is an intelligence officer with the FBI. She's brilliant and talented, but she's also a black woman working in an all-white boys' club, and her career has stalled with routine paperwork - until she's recruited to a shadowy task force aimed at undermining Thomas Sankara, the charismatic, revolutionary president of Burkina Faso, whose Communist ideology has made him a target for American intervention. In the year that follows, Marie will observe Thomas, seduce him, and ultimately, have a hand in the coup that will bring him down. But doing so will change everything she believes about what it means to be a spy, a lover, and a good American. Why it's on The Cornrow? We adore books here at The Cornrow HQ, for reading, for sharing and for shelfie styling! We have given a lot of thought into curating the edit of books on our site. They are diverse (of course!) but also wonderfully written, fun or extremely informative (if not all four!)

High-Quality Art Print With A Quote By Marilyn Monroe – "This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."
