A bright, playful edition of our beloved Prisma Sling, inspired by Josep Albers, children's fashion of the 90s and techni-colored Haribo candy. Modeled by the queen of the young-at-heart; my grandmother Myrna, in and around our shared studio. Part of our High Summer series, these pieces celebrate summer birthdays, balmy nights, fireflies and cicadas, endless hazy days, floating in soft lake water and the first bite of a perfectly ripe nectarine. The Prisma is our go-to bag for traveling, busy markets and dancing. (Or more recently, for daily walks around the neighborhood, carrying hand sanitizer and a mask at all times. Stay safe, everyone.) Wear it across your chest for secure, hands-free carrying or sling it over a shoulder on the go. Roomy enough for all the essentials and then some. Now updated to include an exterior back pocket, for easy phone access. Dimensions: 10.25 tall // 8 across base. Standard strap - 38 // Extended strap - 45 (recommended for busts above 47)

Last summer my students created these beautiful firefly collages. I was thrilled to be asked by Arts and Activities magazine to write an article for the lesson. It will be in next month's June issue. Here's the link: http://pubdev.ipaperus.com/ArtsandActivities/AAJune2016/?page=14

Students create delightful paper firefly lanterns reminiscent of vintage mason jars aglow atop wooden porches from lazy summer nights of days gone by. This quick craft pairs well with any firefly book or study. It requires no coloring or painting...only cutting, folding, and pasting (and optional stapling). For more firefly fun, students may set battery-operated tea lights beneath their lanterns to make night lights. For even more firefly fun, students may use the "You Light Up My Life!" tags to create firefly lanterns as gifts for Mother's Day, Father's Day, World Kindness Day, or any other day they wish to recognize the special people in their lives. Or, string white holiday lights across a corner of your classroom and hang the lanterns along the cord(s) to create a fun, festive feel.
