Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a lovely weekend! We are forever covered with white fluffy flakes up here in Canada. That means more time indoors, which equals more time for memory keeping if you ask me! Today I am hopping with the Scrapbook Sunday team! I am truly honoured to be joining them. For those who may be new here, my name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator located in Calgary, Alberta. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. I hope that you enjoy! Make sure to click through the blog list at the end of today's post so that you take in all of the memory keeping inspiration to be shared! Believe me, you will fall in love! Today's inspiration comes from a sketch! Yes that's right... the fabulous sketch above. To be honest, one could create many fabulous momento filled pages by following the above layout! It's pretty amazing! Here is my interpretation of the sketch... So what do you think? Yes ... I changed it up a bit! I flipped my picture horizontally, and I moved a few of the elements around a wee little. But that is what is so fascinating about one's interpretation of a sketch. We will all come out with something slightly different in the end. And that is what makes it all so fabulous! I have been reminiscing about life more recently. I love my hobby. I love my career. But mostly I love what I have been blessed with (my family). These pages are more than art. They are celebrating special moments. Moments that at one point in time were the now. But now they are then. I want to cherish the now more, so that I can look back on the then. If that makes any sense. Cherish now... Of course Stampin' Up! has helped me to put these precious memories into the keepsake album forever. If you are interested in the array of Stampin' Up! products that went into the making of today's project feel free to check out the supply list at the end of today's post. But before you do that, you must check out the entire hop! Up next is Cathy Caines! She is my Canadian Idol! And she gets this fluffy snow thing! I can't wait to see what she has to share with us today! Thank you so much for visiting! If you have any questions in regards to today's project feel free to contact me! As well, if you are in Canada and you are interested in purchasing Stampin' Up! products, I would love to have you visit my Stampin' Up! online shop! Just click on the shop button below if you wish! Hi everyone! Welcome to another fun Friday with the TGIF Challenges Team! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Today the TGIF Challenges Team has a wonderful inspiration piece to share with you! It's balmy and it's beautiful! Which for me is perfect at this time of year! Are you ready for some fun in the sun stamping motivation? Check it out! Isn't it fabulous? So many ideas can flow from this gorgeous photo! Here is my take on it! I decided to pull quite a few elements from the image above and work them into my project. Saying that, you can use just one or two elements from the image as your source of inspiration. First off I needed some bright colours! The selection of colours today was easy oh peasy given the Stampin' Up! colour wheel! I went with Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, and Blueberry Bushel! Of course Whisper White had to show up to the party too! Isn't this colour combo dreamy! When brainstorming as to how I was going to create today's beach seen, I decided to reach towards my Stampin' Up! In Color 2018–2020 Designer Series Paper Series Paper stack for the ocean. The monochromatic striped piece worked perfectly for the calm waters. I then took a strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock and stamped on it with the speckled stamp from the Touches Of Texture Stamp Set using my Crumb Cake Ink. I think it did well for giving me that sandy look! Then ...Ta-da! The adirondack chairs from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets Dies were the ideal fit to finish off this tranquil setting! To add some finishing touches (which give that extra W-O-W factor) I added a few of my fave Stampin' Up! embellishments, and created some pasty (or should I say fluffy) clouds! Check out the full supply list at the end of this post if you are interested in creating your own stamped paradise! Since the theme fits, I am also sharing this seaside escape with the team over at the Global Design Project! Fingers crossed that I have a chance! They are definitely a talented bunch over there! Well that's it for today! I hope that you enjoyed this dreamy card! Thank you so much for stopping by! & Remember to stop by the TGIF Challenges site to join in the fun this week! The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack has a gorgeous rustic look to it, and it's full of texture. I also of course had to play with the new Blossoming Basket Bundle! This bundle of products is free with a purchase of $120 during Sale-A-Bration (if you are in Canada). The basket weave embossing folder that is included in this bundle is gorgeous! I can't wait to play with it some more. Check out this bundle of products in the picture below. Are you not in love? I also added some Stampin' Up! Old Olive 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon, and a few sequins from the Stampin' Up! Iridescent Sequin Assortment for your tactile pleasure. Hi everyone! Welcome to another fun Friday with the TGIF Challenges team! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Today I have an "Ombre" themed Christmas shaker card to share with you! I hope you enjoy it! As well, remember to check out the TGIF Challenges site today! There are lots of awesome ombre projects to enjoy! If you feel inclined, we would love to have you join in with us this week! Have fun creating your masterpiece and upload it to your blog or favourite social media site. Then share it to our page! The more the merrier! According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of ombre is, "Having colors or tones that shade into each other —used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark." The ombre look is very popular these days. You see it in fashion, hair, interior design ... really almost everywhere you look, and the papercrafting world is no exception! You will find many ombre masterpieces surrounding you if you keep your eyes peeled! That is what makes this theme a great one for this week's TGIF Challenge! There are many ways one can achieve that blended ombre look with inks and paper. Saying that, I kinda cheated today. What do I mean by this? Well I used a sheet of paper from my fave pack of Stampin' Up! DSP to create the ombre project you see here! This made it easy oh peasy! Have a look at the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack in the photo below! You will see why it is a must have! The colours are so bright and fun! As well, these papers are oh so versatile! Well what do you think? Is this DSP not beautiful? Just think of all of the possibilities! #Swoon💖 Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope that you have enjoyed today's project! Remember to stop by the TGIF Challenges site and join in the fun this week! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. As well, if you are from Canada check out my online 24/7 Stampin' Up! supply shop below! Cheers & Happy Stamping! Carolynn 💖

The theme for today is "Anything Goes"! That means we are free to create whatever we wish for this month's hop! My first thought was that I would choose a simple stamping project! But as it turns out, I went back to my roots and challenged myself with a scrapbook layout.💖 Honestly, I miss scrapbooking. Hi everyone! I am posting a wee bit of a different project today. I started today's creation with the intent to make yet another watercolour card. However, as my creative process flowed in an indiscriminate manner, this whimsical framed piece of mixed media art came about! At first glance, you may not even quite recognize the Stampin' Up Bundle that I used here. Saying that, by utilizing a few different techniques, I was able to make this bundle of products look more organic than the usual. If you check out the Swirly Bird Bundle of products (pictured below) you can see where my artful images in today's project came from. I have been much intrigued with masking and watercolouring these days. I have also recently been in awe with mixed media art. So as today's aquapainters, water spritzers, blender pens, markers & inks flowed, this gem became much too pretty to fold up into a card. I had also purchased a few frames for my stash of things to be stamped a while back, & so voila! The two (artwork & frame) became one! Of course my sweet daughter was stamping alongside me today. She was quick to claim my creation as belonging to her. Hence where the phrase on today's piece came from. I then claimed her work of heart. Mommy is going to have to purchase a special frame for this one. I think hers turned out better than my own. She has been learning techniques with me over the summer. Did I say she is only 5? I may have to make her a watermark for her future images! Today's project is also my submission for the Global Design Project (#GDP049). This week's theme over on the GDP blog is a colour challenge. Just click on the picture below to check out all the fun fab ideas being shared over there using this great Stampin' Up colour combo! Lastly, if you are wondering where the pretty pear fibres on today's project came from, well I had some pear pizzazz ribbon saved in my stash of goodies. I pulled the ribbon apart to get the nice soft strands of grass that you see here today. My white gel pen & long lost sewing machine were also put to use to finish things off! I had not used my sewing machine in over 10 years! Oops! Guess what? It still works! More sewing on papercrafts to come! Yay for me! Thank you so much for stopping by today! & I hope you leave inspired to mix up some media, or maybe even pull out your sewing machine! Hi everyone! Welcome to another fun Friday with the TGIF Challenges team! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Today I have a gorgeous floral card to share with you! I hope you enjoy it! As well, remember to check out the TGIF Challenges site today! There are lots of inspiring ideas! If you feel inclined, we would love to have you join in with us this week! Have fun creating your masterpiece and upload it to your blog or favourite social media site. Then share it to our page! It's a ton of fun! Today's TGIF Challenge had me twitterpated! This bouquet was so stunning that I didn't think I could possible interpret it with my stamps and ink. I am not gonna lie, I fumbled with quite a few flowery stamps before I came up with today's card! And I am more than pleased with how it turned out. Sometimes a fun challenge is just what you need to get those creative juices flowing! I used three stamp sets when creating today's work of art. They included the Touches of Texture Stamp Set, the Painted Harvest Stamp Set, and the Dare To Dream Stamp Set. After stamping and embossing my flowery images on Watercolor Paper, I lightly washed it with my Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight Ink. I then spent almost an hour watercoloring those pretty flowers just so. I used Calypso Coral, Rose Red, and Lemon Lime Twist for the flowers and leaves. Next I went over certain areas of the background with Peekaboo Peach. It turned out so delightful. These hues are some of my most favorite, making this one of my most favorite cards I have ever created. Thanks so much for the inspiration TGIF! What do you think of the accents used on today's project? Aren't they stunning? And so perfect? I love the array of coordinating products that Stampin' Up! offers. They give any handmade project that extra WOW factor! You can check out the full list of supplies that I used here by scrolling down to the end of this post. Hello everyone! Welcome to another edition of the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop! I am so thrilled to have you here with me today! If you are new here, I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta. Before I present today's post I have to mention that being a member of this wonderful group continues to bring me immense joy. Our coalition has been sharing in this online world for a few months now & I feel just as elated as I did the first time around! You most likely arrived here via Maike Ulbrich's blog! What did you think of her fave celebration? Wasn't her project astounding? I am constantly in awe with Maike's work! Today's theme is all about our favourite celebration! Regardless of the fact that my fave celebration is a long ways away, I had to be true to my heart & shine the spotlight on Christmas! I cherish the warmth of the season. It truly is what gets me through winter! Therefore, a merry display was in order for me today! For today's project, I decided to make this Christmas enclave a little more on trend by showcasing the Stampin' Up! 2017-2019 In Colours! Aren't these delightful greens perfect for those Yuletide offerings? All I can say is that I will be decking the halls with Lemon Lime Twist & Tranquil Tide this winter! What do you think? Aren't those new coordinating embellishments to die for? These sweet lil bows are the perfect accent for your holiday projects! It may be spring, but who says it's too early to start brainstorming, or better yet even creating, for some of those much needed winter gifts? The 2" X 8" Cellophane bags I used for today's project are a Stampin' Up! staple in my house. They are perfect for stuffing a variety of treats. My fave are the Hershey Nugget Chocholates one can purchase here in North America. I wrapped my golden nuggets with some of my fave DSP from the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue. The new catty is to be released to the public June 1st. If you want your hands on this stuff ahead of time you could always sign up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator... just saying! The ability to get your hands on some of the newest & hottest Stampin' Up! products is one of the many perks of being a demonstrator. How can you not love it all? When creating today's ensemble, I truly had teacher gifts in my mind. I always love giving the kids teachers a lil something at Christmas. I figured a lil bag of nuggets just wasn't quite enough to say thanks for all of the work our teachers do, so I came up with the coordinating envelope gift card holders you see above. Aren't they fabulous? These envelopes were super easy to whip up with the Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board! If you haven't seen this tool in action just check out the Stampn' Up! video below! There is so much you can do with this tool! The possibilities are endless! I finished my envelopes off with the jolly belly bands you see above. That way there was no need to apply adhesive to the envelope closure. Cool huh? I hope you leave inspired by today's gifts! Be sure to click the next button below so that you can continue on with today's hop! Kimberly Van Diepen is next up & she is pretty much a creative genius! Well hello everyone! Welcome to my blog! If you are new here, my name is Carolynn and I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am super happy that you are visiting my blog today! No need to be feeling blue here! But, you will definitely be seeing, and dreaming up all shades of blue after you leave here today! Why? Well because the theme this week over at the TGIF Challenges site is "Summertime Blues"! If you are feeling blue, and need a little pick me up, why don't you join us this week over at TGIF? Upload your favourite "Summertime Blues" creation to your blog, or social media site, and share it with us! We would love to have you! Although I have not been feeling blue this summer, as that is more of a wintertime thing for me, I have one particular "blue" moment that stands out from our most recent summer vacation camping trip. This precious moment is now a memory stored in my heart. It was the end of a fun filled day, and I was having an evening lake swim with our two boys. We were treading water (AKA floating), with the last bit of daylight shining on our faces. In this moment one would think that the boys didn't miss school very much. But as they were afloat, they began having an in depth conversation covering anything and everything school related! From which teachers were leaving this year, to worrying about who the next ones will be, to what options my oldest child was hoping for once school started back, to the fact that Home Economics was super cool as they get to bake a cake and eat it too! I cherished hearing their little voices, and at the same time I wished I could just hold this precious moment for eternity. As we swam in the water and the sun kissed our cheeks, my younger son pointed out the beauty of the cloud pattern that was hovering above us in the crisp blue sky. It was as if a marshmallow mist had been sprayed against the blue canvas that encompassed us. A composition that only mother nature could depict! So when we returned from holidays, and I was faced with this week's theme, my project was influenced by that beloved moment which will be stored in my heart, mind, and soul forever. I know that I can't compete with mother nature, but how do you like today's "Summertime Blues" project? Does it not depict a marshmallow dream? Ironically, at the same time that I was busy creating this card, I was also dreaming up how amazing it would be to attend the Stampin' Up! Onstage Event that will be held in Utah this November! I really, really want to go! Tickets go on sale mid August so here's to hoping that I get my hands on one! Then my dream will maybe start to feel more real & the wintertime blues can stay at bay! If you are from Canada and you are interested in a fun filled crafting trip, feel free to message me! You must be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to attend! I would love to have you join me on this super fun crafty journey! As for today's card... well my vision came together quite easily with the Marbled Background Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I was able to achieve the multi-toned blue background with the help of my Stampin' Up! Sponge Brayers, and of course some Pool Party and Dapper Denim Ink. If you aren't familiar with the Sponge Brayers, I have an image from the Stampin' Up! store to share with you below... For today's background, I applied Dapper Denim Ink to my Sponge Brayer by rolling it against my Dapper Denim Ink Pad. I then rolled the sponge over the top half of my Marbled Background Stamp. Once I achieved an even coat of ink on the top half of my stamp, I did the same with the Pool Party Ink Pad using another separate Sponge Brayer (FYI, you receive 2 handles and 4 sponges in each pack of the Stampin' Up! Sponge Brayers! Bonus!). This time apply the Pool Party Ink on the lower end of the background stamp and work your way up until you have an even coat of Pool Party Ink on the lower half of the stamp. You can then meld the two shades of blue together by rolling over the visual seam where the two colours meet (with your Sponge Brayer that has been inked up with Pool Party Ink). Once you are finished inking, you can then stamp your marbled masterpiece onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock! Voila! If you like to take it a step further, I then poured Clear Embossing Powder over the entire stamped image. I of course shook off the excess powder, and then heat embossed the beauty of a background I had created. The embossing step gives your card a nice sheen which is super duper gorgeous, but of course it is not necessary. The rest of my card came together using the supplies that are shown in the list at the end of today's post. The rest is pretty self explanatory! Feel free to message me, or leave me a comment below if you have questions. Well that is it for today! I hope today's card put a smile on your face! Once again please join in with us this week over at TGIF Challenges! As well make sure to check out the rest of the "Summertime Blues" projects that the TGIF team has to share with you! You will be feeling nothing but summertime love! Cheers & Happy Stamping! Happy Thursday everyone! Welcome to another Creating Kindness around the world blog hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you have been following the hop you would have just arrived here via the talented Danielle Bennenk. The theme for today's hop is "Mixed Media"! I love mixed media, but I have to say that I have only muddled with it a wee bit. It was great to challenge myself with the theme today! I hope you enjoy! As well, remember to click on the next button at the end of this post so that you can follow the entire hop! So here it is! My mixed media masterpiece! What I learned throughout this mixed media process is that you really do have to let go! You want your end result to look like a layered, messy, mosaic of fun! Do you think that I achieved that here today? I hope so! For your convenience and pleasure, I have included a list of all the supplies used for today's project at the end of this post. In addition, I have included an explanation of the process I went about to achieve the look you see here. I unfortunately do not have a video to share today, I may just have to make one in the future. First take a piece of Stampin' Up! Watercolour Cardstock (cut to size or slightly larger than you would like). Place the diamond shaped mask from the Stampin' Up! Pattern Party Decorative Masks over your cardstock, and then apply a coat of Stampin' Up! Embossing Paste on top of it in a random pattern (AKA not perfect) using the Stampin' Up! Palette Knives. Helpful Hint: I like to place my Stampin' Up! Silicone Craft Sheet under my project for ease of clean up. Next I take your Stampin' Spritzer and spray a light mist of water over the entire project. Then take your Aqua Painter and apply a few of your favourite Stampin' Up! inks throughout. The colours I chose were: Pineapple Punch; Lemon Lime Twist; Coastal Cabana; & Bermuda Bay. Helpful Hint: Allow the colours to run together along the edges in which they meet. You will get that nice melded look that you see here. Then take the doily stamp from the new Stampin' Up! Very Vintage Hostess stamp set and randomly stamp it over your project in Jet Black Stazon ink. Helpful Hint: You can stamp with Jet Black Stazon Ink on any surface. But beware it is VERY permanent. Next step is to take the speckled stamp from the Stampin' Up! Touches Of Texture stamp set, and stamp it randomly over your project using Stampn' Up! Whisper White Craft Ink. Then take a piece of white tissue paper. Stamp & emboss it with the bee from the Stampin' Up! Very Vintage stamp set using Versamark Ink and Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. Apply this little bee to your project using a foam brush & some good old modge podge (or a similar adhesive). While your project is still a bit tacky from all of the ink above, sprinkle some gold embossing powder all over your project randomly in different areas. Then heat it up. This adds some more bling, more texture, and more messy layers. Lastly take your wink of Stella and add some BIG splatters all over. This adds to the fun metallic look! That is about it for this tricky background! If you have any questions in regards to the rest of this project feel free to let me know. You can comment below, or shoot me an email. 💖 So what did you think of today's project? I hope it inspires you to get messy with your creativity! Next up in the hop is Jenny Hall! She is an amazing person in so many ways. I truly heart her.💖 I can't wait to see what she has to share with us today! Click on the next button below so that you don't miss out! Hi friends! The sun is out spreading cheer today, & I thought I'd do the same by sharing with you this fun & bright butterfly card that is so simple to make! This card was made using the colour blocking technique. This basically means you choose a few fun colours to work with, you then cut and measure your cardstock to size & adhere the pieces side by side. It's so simple yet it adds some fun interest to your project. I then used the Butterfly Thinlit Dies by Stampin' Up! with my Big Shot Machine to create the main image here. I like the clean simplicity of this card. Spring is not too far away right? Thanks for stopping by & feel free to email me at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more about Stampin' Up!, hosting a party, or placing an order. Cheers! Carolynn 💖 P.S. Hi everyone! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The TGIF Team is at it again with another inspirational colour combo! Come on over to TGIF Challenges site and have fun creating with us! We would love to see how today's brights inspire you! If you didn't already know this about me, I cherish anything that has to do with sunshine! I love enjoying the sun, but I also have passion for all things that bring light into my life! Today's colour combo was perfect for showcasing a bright card that is full of love and light! Can you guess who I created this card for? Well I am blessed to be the mom of three pretty awesome kids! Yes they are growing way too fast, and if they were to read this they would think I was so cheese! But regardless, they are all my sunshines! I am one of those mom's who would always do my best to sing my kids to sleep when they were little. I never understood this modern day "Sleep Training" thing. I really do think that what our children need most these days is to know that they are loved. If that meant I had to hold them for hours, and snuggle them endlessly as I sang them to sleep then so be it. Don't get me wrong, we are very human. Bedtime wasn't always pretty. It was actually quite messy. But what I remember the most, & what I hope my children also recall in their minds, are those dear moments. Those moments when I held them close. Not just to comfort them, but also myself. Those moments when I sang "You Are My Sunshines". Sunshines because I am blessed to have 3 rays of sunshine in my life. I might have sang a little off key. But that's what makes us human. Those off key moments where we are vulnerable and share our love with those little pieces of light. Light comes to us in many forms. My sunshines are my light.💖 Where does the light shine from in your life? Even in the darkest times, we all have a glimmer of light.✨ Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope that you leave here feeling a wee bit inspired. Remember to stop by the TGIF Challenges site to join in the fun this week! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Hi everyone! Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! If you have been hopping along, you most likely arrived here via my wonderfully talented friend Cathy Caines! She is always creating amazing works of art, and is full of wit! I love her for everything Cathy is. Make sure to check out her blog (like you haven't already), and click on the next button at the end of this post so that you catch all of the fabulous projects our team has to share with you! It's an incredible line up! The theme for today is to be inspired by fashion! This leaves the doors open to endless ideas and crafty opportunities. As a mom of three, and working as a Registered Nurse, I am far from fashionable on a good day. But... I can always learn (aka google) the current trends right? Funny thing is Stampin' Up! has already done some of that research for us! Did you know that the array of products in the Stampin' Up! Catalogue are actually based on current trends? My google search reiterated just that. One of the fashion trends I found interesting in my search is that bright colours (like those you would find in your favourite box of crayons) are hot this year! So I decided to pick some of my fave bright classic hues for today's set of cards. Monochrome is also in fashion this year, hence the individual monochrome cards. I then decided to go with some classic polka dots (which in my mind never really go out of fashion), and some ruffles to finish off these cards. The gold touches also added that little bit of bling which makes these cards shine together. With the recent passing of Kate Spade (a fashion legend), I thought it be important to also highlight mental health. The sentiment on today's card is fitting with that. We all need to be a little more gentle with ourselves. In this crazy hectic world, it is so important to take time for you, and be forgiving of yourself. We are all human. Remember on those tough days to "Love You" for everything that YOU are. Honour yourself. ❤️ On that note, I hope that you enjoyed today's projects. This is such a fitting theme, given we are the Creating Kindness Team! I hope that after today's hop you are inspired to show someone just how much you care. What do you think of today's project? I love that it has such a cheery feel to it! Wouldn't it be a great card to send to your friend or loved one just to show that you care? Today I am not writing about any charity in particular. Although I have to say that this theme has gotten me thinking about how I can contribute to my community in a caring manner via my crafting hobby. I think that in the New Year this will be a mission or resolution for me. Caring resolutions are extra special right? Saying this all, I do have a loved one who has ALWAYS enjoyed mailing cards and letters. This special person has had an extra hard time lately. I plan on sending her this card, as well as many others from my stash, to cheer her up! Not only will she love recieving her own cheery card, but she will be able to share the love through the act of giving the cards that I have given to her. It will be like a ripple effect! Hi everyone! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander's blog. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. May is here, spring has finally sprung, & summer is just around the corner! Can I say Boo Yah!!! I have been waiting for the sun to shine & today it is shining! What better way to celebrate this day than with another round of blog hopping with the Be Inspired Design Team! This week we are sharing projects made with our favourite colour(s)! So please sit back, relax, and enjoy! There are so many fun fab colours in the Stampin' Up! colour line! No matter what colour one chooses, it will be sure to make for a stunning project! If you have been hopping along, you would have just arrived via Maike Ulbrich's blog. Maike is from Germany and she is super talented! Were you not just in love with her project this week? Make sure to click on the next button at the end of this post so that you can oogle over the rest of this week's colourful projects! The rainbow of talent will be sure to wow you! Well can you guess what my favourite colour is? You got it! It's pink! I am actually kinda worried that this week's hop will be full of anything and everything pink! I'm pretty sure that a couple of my team members in today's hop will be showing off some pretty n' pink hues! I won't name names, but you will probably be able to figure them out! Ever since I was a young child my favourite colour has been pink. Have I grown to love other colours? Well of course! I am a believer that we are drawn to different colours at different times in our lives, based on what we need in our lives during that stage of growth. To me colours aren't just colours. They have true meanings behind them. For example, "The colour pink is the colour of universal love of oneself and of others. Pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability." The meaning behind this quote truly hits home with me. I have always been one to give unconditional love and respect to others. Saying that, in the past I have often forgotten to include myself in this category of love. I have always been rather hard on myself, holding the highest of expectations for myself, expectations that sometimes weren't always within my own reach, as the expectations I had were virtually insurmountable. It has only been in the past year or so, that I have begun to shift my focus towards loving myself. It may not always be easy, but I have come some way. I no longer beat myself up over what I "should have done", or "should have said". I am learning that in every moment in life I need to trust myself & just be me, & that in the end that is enough, as I am as beautiful as the beauty I see in others. I still have more to learn on this loving path. In the end how can we truly love others, if we cannot love ourselves? Today I have to say, give yourself a pat on the back, forgive yourself, let go, and celebrate your beauty. Love yourself! With that being said, how about you say we see what other colours are in the showcase today? Kim Van Diepen is next in the line up! I actually can't wait to see what her fave colour is! Hi friends! I hope you are all enjoying your summer. We have been enjoying the great outdoors, as we just came back from another camping trip. This time we were thankful enough to enjoy the warmth of the sun, and also got to absorb some of that much needed beach time. Check out this beautiful lake in British Columbia ... It's just a little hidden piece of paradise. My only regret is that we had to leave before I was ready to say good-bye. On that note, the card I am sharing with you this week is on par with a waterfront getaway. I was inspired by last week's creations over at the Global Design Project. #GDP047 The theme was a nautical one. Although I was away, and unable to participate in time, I arrived home excited to make a gel card in keeping with the nautical craze! The last time I made a gel card was for sure over 10 years ago. The technique has been around for a while, yet somehow it still excites me. You take a smallish zipper bag from your local dollar store, stuff it with hair gel, secure it with some adhesive strip between a layer of cardstock, and voila! The cheaper the hair gel the better! I decided to tint mine with the Island Indigo reinker so that it would match my card. You could tint it whatever colour you like really! The possibilities are endless, & once you've worked your hair gel magic, these cards are truly therapeutic as you just can't stop squishing that gel around! As for the cute little life saver on this card, I custom made it with my Stampin' Up circle punches and my Flirty Flamingo ink pad using the masking technique. I'll post a few pics below so you catch my drift. Those stationary sticky notes make the best masks as they stay in place when you stamp! As for the punches, I used the Stampin' Up 1/2 inch & 1 inch circle punches. Below is a how to video from Stampin' Up that showcases another way to use the masking technique. Lastly, if you are loving the colour combo on this card, you can thank the team over at TGIF! Just click on the icon below and you can check out other stunning creations made with these fabulous Stampin' Up colours! #TGIFC67 Well that's it for today! We would love to see how today's soft and subtle hues inspire you! When I first studied this week's colour combo I pictured spring and Easter! I actually really can't wait until spring! The cold weather up here in the great white north gets a little depressing after a while. I decided to brighten my day by creating a flowery card with today's colours! Saying that, I have to apologize, but I really didn't see the Saffron fitting in with my project. So I decided to opt out of it! You can too if you wish! The colours are really there for inspiration! So do as you wish & let your creative juices flow! I really adore the sayings that come in the Stampin' Up! Here Comes The Sun Stamp Set! You can earn your set for free if you place a qualifying hostess order! It's definitely one of my favourite hostess sets of recent! & The best part is, it's photopolymer! Meaning you can bend and twist the stamps to reshape the sentiments to your liking, as I have done on today's project! Check out all of the images that come in this set below and you will catch my drift! What do you think? Isn't this set fabulous? Happy Wednesday everyone! Welcome to today's Autism Awareness blog hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you have been following the hop you most likely arrived here via the talented Amy Koenders. Wasn't her project today inspiring? I would have to say so! I hope that you enjoy all of the projects that are part of today's wonderful line up! Remember to click on the next button at the end of this post so that you don't miss out on all of the amazing creativity, & touching messages to be shared today! Although I haven't been impacted by Autism directly, I do know close friends who have dealt with the struggles of this disorder. This hop has already increased my own awareness in some sense, as I didn't truly realize that there was a recognized Autism Awareness Day (or Month for that matter). Hopefully bringing more attention to this issue, will result in a deeper understanding on behalf of others. As per the Autism Canada Website, "This year we want to go beyond simply promoting autism awareness to encouraging friends and collaborators to become partners in movement toward acceptance and appreciation". I was originally very unsure of what to create for today's hop. I of course googled Autism Symbols and came across the Autism Ribbon. The ribbon was covered in puzzle pieces with colours similar to the colours I have showcased on today's card. My understanding is that the bright colours are meant to represent hope. I hoped that by displaying these bright hues in big blocks of colour this happy message of hope would be portrayed. Without hope the future can look very bleak. We all need to have hope in our lives, no matter what difficulties we may be facing. I then decided to stamp some of my favourite positive sentiments in these bright hopeful colours. Positive affirmations are good for anyone to repeat, or say aloud to themselves on a down day. I could have stamped a few more even, but I loved how these sentiments fit so nicely within this die cut heart. I hope that you enjoyed my project, and that it has inspired you in some way today. Hello everyone! Welcome to the Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator who loves to share projects and ideas. If you have been hopping along, you would have arrived here via Maria Willis. She is one of the kindest people I know. As well, she is an inspiration to many! I hope that you enjoy today's colourful card, as well as all of the other projects in this hop. Make sure to click on the next button at the end of today's post so that you don't miss out on the amazing projects to be shared today! Today's hop is all about colour! The colours from the Stampin' Up! rainbow that I chose to utilize today are Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach, and Lemon Lime Twist! These colours are bright and fun! As well, they complement each other beautifully. There is colour inspiration all around us. I chose to look to the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (DSP) when choosing my colour combo for today's card. I pulled just three colours from this paper pack. All of the colours in this DSP are listed on page 188 of the Stampin' Up! catalogue. The Stampin' Up! catalogue is a great resource when looking for crafty ideas and inspiration. Check out this colourful pack of paper below! Again, I didn't actually use this DSP on my project today. I simply used it for inspiration. It definitely took the brain-work out of the crafting equation. Now back to my card... Are you curious as to how I created that colourful, spattered background? Well it was created using a technique called "Ink Lifting". I have a full video tutorial to share with you today that showcases this technique. I hope you enjoy! Today's blog hop is also a video hop. Once you are on my YouTube channel, you can then view the video description area where all of the video links for today's hop are posted in one place! I hope that you get a chance to watch them all! Happy Friday to all! For those who might be new here, I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator located in Calgary, Alberta. Another Friday means another post with the TGIF Challenges Team! This week we are creating Sympathy, or Get Well Cards. Sadly, these are cards that are always helpful to have on hand. So what do you say? Stop by the TGIF Challenges site & check out all of the inspiring cards our designers have created. Get stamping & join us in creating a few of those necessary cards we all should have in our stash for when you unfortunately don't think you'll be needing them, but do. I really wasn't sure what I was going to create for today. To be honest, yesterday morning I began rummaging through my stash for something that might spark my sympathetic venture. The more I delved I came across this hidden gem of a stamp set... I thought, "OMG!!! I have had this set for over two months & I have not even inked it up yet! Shame on me!" So it began ... the marvels of a crazy stamper. & Here is what came out of my marvelous mess! If you didn't know already, I am a very untidy crafter. The bigger the mess, the bigger the masterpiece. That's my motto & I'm sticking to it! Don't these colourful band-aids remind you of the fun variety packs you can purchase for your kids? Seriously, these colours almost make me wish I had an owie! I truly think I need to mass produce these cards for all of the clumsy pals I have in my life. Ironically, I know about five people off the top of my head that could benefit from this card right now! So there ya go, a mass production is in order! If you are curious as to which Stampin' Up! colours I used on today's card well they are none other than Berry Burst, Tempting Turquoise, Elegant Eggplant, & Daffodil Delight. Berry Burst is one of the new Stampin' Up! 2017-2019 In Colours! Isn't it gorgeous? I can see a lot of lively colour combos popping up in the future with this beautiful shade. If you wish to save this combo for future reference, I have created a digital swatch for you below! You're welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I would truly love if you left a comment. Or better yet, join in the fun with us this week! Create your own masterpiece, upload it to your blog or your favourite social media site and share it with us over at TGIF Challenges! That would be awesome! Hope you have a marvelous weekend & happy stamping! Hi everyone! Here we are & it's Friday again! Yay!!! If you are new to my blog, my name is Carolynn and I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am so super duper excited to be posting with the TGIF team today for their 100th design team challenge! It is an honour to be a part of this talented group of stampers. What better way to share that honour than with a Mercedes Weber inspired project? Mercedes has such a wonderful array of inspirational projects over on her blog. To choose just one is not an easy task. Saying that, I fell in love with this gorgeous card of hers... I love the individually cut flowers on Mercedes' card, as well as the dry embossed background, and the nicely wrapped twine. If you were to ask me, all of these little intricate details are what make this card so fabulous! I'm not sure if my card will be much of a comparison. Saying that, I wanted to change it up a bit & make it my own. Here is what I came up with, I hope I can make Mercedes proud! In hindsight, I think I could have added a bit of bling! I love that gold glimmer butterfly on Mercedes' card. Regardless, I am pleased with how today's project turned out. Happy 100th Birthday TGIF! Who would have ever thought I'd be celebrating with this team for their 100th post? I am forever grateful! Be sure to check out the TGIF challenge site this week! Hi everyone! If you are new here my name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Well hi again! Today I decided to try something a wee bit different. I pulled out a new colour combo for myself. To be honest, I love eggplant but I can't remember the last time this colour was utilized on one of my projects! Saying that, I fell back in love with it when I mixed it with the other fresh colours I used on today's project. My Burlap Ribbon & Candy Dots were also needing some love. They have literally been sitting in my stash! Like seriously why have all this beautiful stuff just sitting there to collect dust, when it could be put together to make make a beautiful work of art??? I'm going to keep digging and putting this stuff to good use. I again reached for my Aqua Painter today. It is so easy to get that nice soft blended look with these brushes & I'm a big fan of that these days. As for the stamped background, I layered a bunch of my stamps from random sets. Just ink them up with some Versamark Ink, emboss with clear embossing powder, & voila! Paint over the collage with your Aqua Painter using H20 & a few of your favourite inks & you have it made! For the finishing touches layer whatever stuff in there that coordinates & your job is complete! If you have any questions about today's card feel free to contact me (email:[email protected]). You can also check out today's Stampin' Up supply list below for links to my online Stampin' Up shop. You can order your stuff today & have it shipped to you direct! Just remember that during Sale-A-Bration (which runs until the end of this month), for every $60 you spend you get to choose a free Sale-A-Bration product. Don't want to miss out on free stuff! Use Brusho Crystal Colours to create fun backgrounds, including using designer series paper. I created a fun fireworks card for New Years.
Well happy summer it is! Who doesn't love summer? We just came back from a 10 day camping trip in the mountains where it rained pretty well every day. The closest thing to the sun in our vacation photos were these pics from our stroll through a beautiful sun shower. It was a relaxing holiday nonetheless & we were all missing our comfy beds by the end of our trip! When we got back I was itching to craft again & I was so excited to see that TGIFC had a summer challenge over on their blog this week, as I am in need of some summer sun! #TGIFC64 When I think of summer I picture the sunset and the spectrum of colours it can produce. Mother nature is by far the finest artist I know, so why not pull inspiration from her? The colour palette I chose for today's project was inspired by this photo I came across on pinterest. It portrays some of mother nature's finest if you ask me. Unfortunately, (despite the multiple pins) I could not find the original post for this photo. So thank you to whomever shared this beauty. The colours from the Stampin' Up rainbow that I pulled from this are pictured below in today's colour combo. They include Dapper Denim, Tempting Turquiose, Gold, Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, & Wisteria Wonder. My sunset creation is made of paper of course! I had ironically been itching to make something with my Stampin' Up Sunburst Thinlets & this card was the perfect project for me to showcase them. The water on my card was pieced together using the Stampin' Up Swirly Scribbles Thinlets. I also had to add in some birds flying off into the sunset. Rather than trying to fiddle with fussy cutting my own, I analyzed my punches and figured the pansy punch would give me some nicely cut birdies. I simply punched the pansy and then punched over the tip of the flower again to get em cut so nicely. Thanks for stopping by! I hope that your summer is full of sunshine (or maybe even a sun shower)! If you are in Canada and you are interested in making your own paper sunset, just click on the products below, they will take you to my online Stampin' Up virtual shop. Happy Thursday everyone! Welcome to another Creating Kindness around the world blog hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you have been following the hop you would have just arrived here via the talented Lou Kitzelman! I love what she had to share with us today! The theme for today's hop is embossing! Embossing is one of those awe inspiring techniques! & There are so many ways to emboss now a days! I hope you enjoy today's project! As well, remember to click on the next button at the end of this post so that you can follow the entire hop! For today's project I decided to try a new embossing technique (new to me anyways), & so I pulled out my In Colour 2018-2020 Stampin' Emboss Powder Set. I trialled my first attempt at multi-coloured embossing, and this is what came of it! What do you think? Pretty cool huh? My hubby's first comment was, "Is that a gay pride card?" I thought well not really, but why not? Our city just hosted it's annual gay pride parade last month. I love rainbows. I love my friends regardless of their sexual preferences. So why not? Love is love.💖 Too bad I didn't post this beauty last month when the timing was right. But truth is, we should always be cognizant of these topics. & We should love one another regardless of our differences on all fronts. For today's project, I reached for my Stampin' Up! Calls For A Celebration Stamp Set. Check out the wonderful sentiments that are part of this set below. What do you think? Isn't this set fabulous? As far as the multi-coloured embossing goes, first choose a stamp of your liking. I find solid or bold stamps work best. Then ink your stamp up with Versamark Ink and stamp on Whisper White Cardstock. Next, sprinkle the different shades of embossing powder on one at a time. Make sure you shake off the excess powder in between colours. If you are careful you won't contaminate your powders with the other colours. Lastly, heat set your image with your Stampin' Up! heat tool. It is seriously easy oh peasy! Well I hope you enjoyed today's project! Next up in the hop is Marcy Denning! She has a stunning project to share with us today!💖 Click on the next button below so that you don't miss out! Thank you so very much for visiting today! I am always so thrilled to have you! If you have any questions in regards to today's project feel free to message me, or leave a comment below! As well, if you are from Canada and you are interested in purchasing products from my Stampin' Up! online store just click on the "Shop" icon below! Cheers & Happy Stamping! Carolynn 💖
