Easy Violin Songs is a 13-page *eBook that contains 10 of the easiest songs to learn to play on the violin. 🎵 Hear what other violinists have to say about this collection: "This is a terrific book with clear to read notes for beginner violin students! So far I have used it with 3 of my students and have found their reading to be a lot faster due to the size of the music staff. Would 100% recommend!!" - Amy T. "Perfect early repertoire for my young beginning students! I love the size of the print, very easy for the students to read from. This is just what I was looking for!" - Emily J. N. "Love the big font. Fun to get to play Spring as a newbie :)" - Rachel W. "This collection is a welcome addition for sight reading practice for beginners, or Suzuki students who are already playing proficiently and are starting to read from the staff. For violin, most pieces are in the key of A. My second grade Suzuki child already knew several songs, such as Hot Cross Buns, Lightly Row, Ode to Joy, and she “read” them perfectly first time. This was fortunate because it built her confidence in reading." - Mary G. Table of Contents: 3 Note Songs: 1- Hot Cross Buns (Folk) 2- Mary Had a Little Lamb (Folk) 4 Note Song: 3- Boil Them Cabbage Down (Folk) 5 Note Songs: 4- Ode to Joy/ Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee (L. van Beethoven) 5- Jingle Bells (J. Pierpont) 6- When the Saints Go Marching In (Folk) 7- Lightly Row (Folk) 6 Note Songs: 8- Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (Folk) 9- Shortnin' Bread (J. Riley) 10- Spring from the "Four Seasons" (A. Vivaldi, arranged by H. Figi) You can also view this collection here on the M4YV YouTube channel. * Please note this eBook is a digital download, and no physical item will be mailed to you. Virtual Sheet Music® Premium High-Quality digital sheet music for viola, "For Beginners", (all the collections, 1-3), big notes version, viola fingerings and notes/letters indications included. Having stated the viola only this year, I was eager to find some Christmas song I could play. I was very happy to find the finger numbering already on the music. That saved me a step. I was playing one or two of the songs decently in a matter of days. I am considering becoming a member. So easy to use the site~ very user friendly. We got our music in a pdf file and simply printed it out. Quick and affordable! I just wanted some holiday songs that could be learned with little practice, and added some interest to practice. These were accurate and readable. This music is easy to site read, and I love that it is down low to take advantage of the sweet rich Viola tone. I really like having sheet music for traditional christmas hymns, not just the santa/rudolph stuff. This arrangement even has a nice piece for Thanksgiving. I would have liked something that had longer arrangements to reflect the different moods of some of the verses, specifically "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" My 9 year old son has been playing viola for just 5 months and he was thrilled that he could play the assortment of Christmas songs. Carol of the Bells is perfect!!

A few weekends ago I got the privilege to present at a Suzuki Piano workshop for parents. As I was thinking of ideas of what to present I decided that we were (mostly) all moms and we do a lot of cooking and can relate to recipes. Therefore, the title of my presentation was "Recipe for a Successful Practice." Nothing I said was new or scientific, but rather a fun way to reinforce some basic qualities of a successful practice. I've included my handout here and hopefully, you can get some ideas on what you need to improve to make your practicing more successful. You could give a presentation like this to parents of your music students. It's good to hear the same things over and over! 2023 update: Here is an updated handout.
