Both files follow the same pattern: Front of Card: Metaphors for Mom Dadjectives Inside Left: Students read the two items listed and circle the one they think their parent likes better (example: fancy restaurant or fast food?) Inside Right: A trophy lists an award students think his/her parent should receive A personal letter is tucked inside the trophy Back of Card: Teachers can choose the writing they want their students to include on this page (perhaps a poem, memory, or a list) Do you have students who do not have a mother or father? There is an "alternate" file for those students. "Mom" or "Dad" are not listed on these worksheets. These students may choose to make a card for their grandma, aunt, uncle, foster parent, stepparent, or another special person in their life. Student-friendly directions (with photos) are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project.
