Giadone chile peppers are the most delicious peppers you can find north of the NM state line. This Mirasol chile from Pueblo, Colorado is very meaty with a sweet flavor and hot heat. Its Scoville rating is known to reach 10,000 - 12,000 SHU. History: A single pepper plant with more heat was selected from a crop of peppers grown from the bag of Pueblo mirasol seeds given to Dr. Michael Bartolo from his father. The seeds were from his late uncle, Harry Mosco, an Italian farmer that had farmed the east Pueblo area for decades. Read the story about the Mosco chile and the Giadone chile here: coloradocountrylife.coop The Pueblo ‘Giadone’ has a different flavor from the Hatch chile. It tends to have thicker walls, which make it very easy to roast, and more heat. Pods grow to 6-7" long with thick flesh and red color. They have a very distinctive sweet flavor with a lot of heat for adding to your usual favorite dishes. Plants are very productive and grow well in high elevation, short seasons or dry climates. Capsicum annuum (75 days) Heat Level: Hot Scoville 10,000 - 12,000 ~ Packet contains 10 seeds. Also be sure to grow the Giadone Chile's sister, the Mosco Chile, which has similar delicious flavor and thick flesh but is a little less hot at 5,000 Scovilles. In early spring, start seeds indoors 8 weeks prior to warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 10 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 30” apart. Harvest peppers when they are green or wait a few more weeks until they are red for great flavor. All of our seeds are GMO-free.

A mnemonic device is a way to help remember something. Birdwatchers often memorize bird sounds by thinking of them in terms of human words; for example, the chirping of a Carolina Wren sounds a lot like 'teakettle!'. This poster guide makes a great gift for animal lovers, teachers, hikers, and any birds who sometimes have a hard time thinking of things to say. Print Info: 11" x 17" or 18" x 24", printed on high quality Epson Enhanced Matte Paper on our fancy Epson Stylus Pro 9800 printer named Mike. Ships in a plastic tube in a fat, sturdy cardboard tube. Our prints are set up and cut by a human so minor variations in sizing may occur. Sizes quoted are approximate.
Cloud computing and big data are arguably the most significant forces in information technology today. In the wake of revelations about National Security Agency (NSA) activities, many of which occur "in the cloud", this book offers both enlightenment and a critical view. Vincent Mosco explores where the cloud originated, what it means, and how important it is for business, government and citizens. He describes the intense competition among cloud companies like Amazon and Google, the spread of the cloud to government agencies like the controversial NSA, and the astounding growth of entire cloud cities in China. Is the cloud the long-promised information utility that will solve many of the world's economic and social problems? Or is it just marketing hype? To the Cloud provides the first thorough analysis of the potential and the problems of a technology that may very well disrupt the world.
We're pretty infatuated with this brand new print from nature cartoonist Rosemary Mosco, creator of Bird and Moon comics. The premise is simple: Assign each a bird a catch phrase that sounds similar to the sound it makes in the wild. By remembering the catch phrase, you can better identify the sound – and the bird…

Part field guide, part history, part ornithology primer, and altogether fun. Fact: Pigeons are amazing, and until recently, humans adored them. We’ve kept them as pets, held pigeon beauty contests, raced them, used them to carry messages over battlefields, harvested their poop to fertilize our crops—and cooked them in gourmet dishes. Now, with The Pocket Guide to Pigeon Watching, readers can rediscover the wonder. Equal parts illustrated field guide and quirky history, it covers behavior: Why they coo; how they flock; how they preen, kiss, and mate (monogamously); and how they raise their young (on chunky pigeon milk). Anatomy and identification, from Birmingham Roller to the American Giant Runt to the Scandaroon. Birder issues, like what to do if you find a baby pigeon stranded in the park. And our lively shared story together, including all the things we’ve taught them—Ping-Pong, for example. “Rats with wings?” Think again. Pigeons coo, peck and nest all over the world, yet most of us treat them with indifference or disdain. So Rosemary Mosco, a bird-lover, science communicator, writer, and cartoonist (and co-author of The Atlas Obscura Explorer’s Guide for the World’s Most Adventurous Kid) is here to give the pigeon's image a makeover, and to help every town- and city-dweller get closer to nature by discovering the joys of birding through pigeon-watching.
