I am completely smitten with the new Coffee Talk stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I know, no surprise, since I've never met a coffee stamp I didn't like! {grin} For this card, I colored up a couple of the cup images, then fussy cut. The sentiment is stamepd on a circle die cut and I stamped one of the cup images randomly over the sentiment circle in ballerina ink. Coffee Talk happens to be the August Stamp of the Month. The rest was just a matter of picking some fun papers to go with the fun images. Hi friends! Can you believe it's already time for a new Mojo Monday sketch? Time is flying! As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. I can't remember the last time I made a card without at least some stamping. But this was an early morning creation where I was trying to be super quiet and not wake the boys, so I just pulled out a paper pad and the coordinating ephemera and got to layering. The Prima Pumpkin and Spice collection was a don't even think about it, just add to cart purchase for me. I love fall, I love Prima, and I love shabby chic. But since most of my design teams moved into Christmas in September, this poor paper pad has just been sitting on the shelf unused! Determined to use it, I picked a few papers, cut them to size, matted with white cardstock and then distressed the edges. I then chose some of the coordinating ephemera pieces to layer behind the focal panel, distressing the edges a bit as well and adding a few stickles accents. Then It was just a matter of gluing it all together, adding a seam binding bow and voila... a no stamping card is born. Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you create! Hi friends! It's Monday and time for a brand new Mojo Monday sketch! I hope you can find a little time in the next couple weeks to play along with me! I'm an equal opportunity stamper, so feel free to use any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Sometimes I create sketches from my past cards, and other times I literally sketch the layout on paper, then create the card. More recently, I've been gravitating to ink blending or mixed media backgrounds and I don't use as many layers as I used to, making new sketches a little harder for my brain to crank out. So yesterday morning I sat down and sketched out this quick layout and I had so much fun picking out papers and elements to fit it. It just goes to show how mixing things up every now and then in your crafting process can really boost your creativity. For this card, I pulled out the gorgeous Forest Tea Party collection and cut my panels, inking the edges and matting with stone ink and cardstock. The background is from the Wood Creative Pad and I stamped the Typewriter Text Background over it in stone ink. This background is part of the Overstock Sale at Sweet 'n Sassy this month, and it's one of my favorites! After building up my layers, I decided I wanted to use a flower in place of the circle, so I pulled out the Precious Poppies set and colored and fussy cut the flower, adding some Nuvo glitter drops to the center, then bunching up some twine to tuck under. I had to take a peek back to see if this sketch had been used before, and was surprised not to see it. The two crossed panels is kind of my go-to start to a card, especially with patterned paper. I typically use a circle as the focal point, but decided to switch to a square for a change. The stamps are from the new Summer Fruits set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I had a lot of fun coloring them with Copics, then playing around with some new to me papers from Echo Park It's actually a patriotic pad, but totally made me think of picnics and cherry picking, The sentiment is masked off to use just par and I added the missing you from the Rose Banner set above. This Mojo go round I've got a fun little sketch that's perfect for using up some of your scraps. I have no shortage of scraps to choose from, so had fun putting this layout together. This sweet little scarecrow bear is from the adorable new Rhubarb's Harvest set. I colored him up with Kuretake Clean Color real brush markers and a waterbrush. So cute! Hi friends! I have a little something different for you for the Mojo Sketch this go round. I'm giving you three sketches at once, but leaving the linky up through the end of April. These sketches came to be when I picked up the Echo Park Magic & Wonder pad at Tuesday Morning. I needed to make some masculine birthday cards, so I decided to challenge myself to use up as much of the paper I cut into as possible. This was the result. You can download a printable Two Sheet 6 x 6-ish Wonder PDF here. I say 6 x 6-ish, because the dimensions I used included the extra portion of the paper pad that has the hang hole on it, making it 6 x 6.5". I know both Echo Park and Carta Bella papers are these dimensions without perforation. You could use a regular 6 x 6 sheet, but would need to change the dimensions to 0.75" x 4" for strip D and 3 x 2" for panel C. I started by choosing two sheets of double sided paper from the paper pad. You want patterns that are multi directional, since they'll be going different directions. I cut both sheets at once, first cutting at 4" on the side with the hole, then cutting the 4" panel to 5.25" to make my background panels. I had a few frayed edges on the resulting piece, so I cut it down to 1.125". Next I cut the other strip at three inches, giving me a 2 x 3.5" piece and a 2 x 3" piece. I arranged the panels how I thought they looked best, hiding any portions that had the hole from the paper on them, then cut thin black mats for everything. My stamping was done with the gorgeous Scene Silhouettes: Woodland set and the Sentimental Mash-up sets from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Today I chose to play with the new God Bless America set. Love these handlettered patriotic sentiments, and the flag is two pieces, so super easy to get those crisp red, white, and blue colors. The papers are from an old Authentique pad. I love Americana and had fun aging this a bit with antique linen and walnut stain inks. I hand sketched a little frame on my sketch panels to give a little border without adding the bulk of extra layers. For the flag post, I just free hand cut a post shape, then layered the flag behind it, adding a little wave to it, by rolling the flag up with a stylus first, then adding glue in strategic places to make it "wave". I'm not sure when or if I'll be back to sketches, but I do need to take a break for a while. Life is pulling me in all sorts of directions now that we're fully vaccinated and life is starting to get back to it's pre-2020 pace. I have enjoyed seeing all your creations and hope you'll continue to use my past sketches as inspiration. As always, we're playing just for fun. For today's sketch I went with a slimline design. I didn't really follow my sketch very literally, but I just couldn't fit the circle in with the sentiment I wanted to use. You got to do what works, right? I used the Walk By Faith set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This set and all Rebecca Rios Designs sets are 25% off through May 20. Below are a few of my favorite cards with sets Rebecca has designed. I started by stamping the eyeglass image from the set repeatedly in rainbow colors. I then used the pink, yellow, and orange inks and my MISTI to stamp a blend from pink to orange with the faith stamp. The other part of the sentiment is stamped in black, then I layered both panels on black cardstock, popping the eyeglass panel up on a foam sheet and adding a little shading with a copic marker and a black pen. I also added a little shadow to the faith sentiment. All of this is layered onto a colorful diagonal stripe paper and then added to a 3.5" x 8.5" slimline card base. And their first time riding the bus. I'm super anxious for them. I know they'll do great, but it brings back memories of how mean the kids were on my bus route back in the day. I'm so glad they have each other! Anyhow, back to school always reminds me that falling leaves are just around the corner. So for or today's card, I created a little autumn scene. I started with some daisy stamps I had left over from creating for the SNSS + My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop. These were done with lemon drop and fruit punch reactive inks with a MISTI. I fussy cut the two images and layered them together, adding a bit of glitter to the flower center. My background is embossed with an embossing folder I found in the value section of our local craft store last year. I love the little details. I embossed it on white paper and then blended with antique linen distress oxide for a vintage feel. The sentiment is created using this alpha set. By the way, today's the final day of a fabulous Alpha SALE at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I cut it in a banner shape, then used a little post card ephemera for the rectangle shape. I finished off by tucking in some glittered leaves and a couple of butterflies I embossed on vellum and colored with Zig markers. Alrighty, now it's your turn! Hello friends! I turned another Paper Rose Studio paper pad into a set of cards! I just love their gorgeous collections. This time I used Birds of a Feather in the 6x6 size. (It's also available in 12x12) I decided to focus on the pattern paper and didn't use any stamps or dies. (Well, almost.)

Today's modern & masculine birthday card is defined by two key elements . . . blocks of bold color and lots of "architecture!" I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Had such fun making this card – layers upon LAYERS of papery goodness. This is Julee’s fabulous sketch for Mojo Monday 435 And my little creation: The lighting is a little on the dull side but I think you get the idea of all the color and layers going on! I hope you take some time to day to STOP and just know that every NORMAL (boring?) day is actually a miracle. Be thankful that a “normal” day means there is no crisis happening and things are going along as they should. Celebrate it – and then do something for someone who IS going through crisis (eg: a card, phone call, baking, donation…) – you have the opportunity to make each “ordinary” day EXTRAordinary! Its the last Monday of the month, so that means a different shaped card for the Mojo Monday Challenge! Mine is 5 1/4" square and uses papers from My Mind's eye "Christmas Wish" 6x6 pad. I took the wreath image from Verve's "Autumn Blessings" set and dressed it up for Christmas by adding sequins! The sentiment is from the "Unto Us" set and the poinsettia is from "Joyous Noel" - both by Verve. A simple and self-explanatory card. Welcome to the tall & skinny week at the Mojo Monday Blog! Julee has created the fabulous sketch, it is perfect for tall & skinny, I luv all the options it gives, we can't wait to see what you create! Feel free to adapt the sketch to whatever length/width fits your fancy, though. Below are a couple options for those of you who don't like to do math on a Monday morning! The first size is 3.5 x 5.5" and fits a regular A2 envelope with a little room left over to let something (like the circle in this sketch) hang off the 3.5" side. You can use either of the following measurements, depending on where you want your fold. 3.5 x 11" cut of cardstock, score long side at 5.5" 5.5 x 7" cut of cardstock, score long side at 3.5" For a little more skinny, you can try a 3.5 x 6" card to fit a regular No. 6 3/4 envelope (the ones that are about the size of a personal check). Hi everyone! it's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch! Are you ready to play? I so appreciate everyone who plays along. It's always fun peeking in on your creations! As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on October 13, 2019. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. Today's sketch was inspired by this fun coffee loving creation I made with the NEW Grab the Unicorn set from The Cat's Pajamas. I never knew I needed a coffee drinking unicorn stamp until I saw this one! 😀 It's a seriously cute set and I couldn't wait to stamp with it! I colored the little unicorn and her aqua coffee cup with Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut her out. I then selected a few papers that coordinated with the colors I had used and set about creating the layout. I had a really hard time getting it to show in the photo, but her little backdrop is stenciled black on black with the new Twist Stencilz and some black glitter paste. It looks positively magical in real life. I added a couple strips of satin ribbon for my diagonal strips, but you could easily use paper layers. Then for even more sparkle I added rhinestones in between the two strips. I finished off with a sweet sentiment from the set. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you enjoy creating with this sketch! Can you believe it's already the middle of October? Time is just flying by! I didn't have a whole lot of time to stamp this weekend because I got a shiny new laptop. And it runs like a dream! Woohooo! I've been fighting with my old computer for so long I had forgotten how a "real" computer is supposed to run. I'm so totally excited about it! It's going to make my life SOOOOOO much easier not to deal with programs crashing all around me every 30 minutes or so! Yay! I did carve out a little time in between installing all my programs to come up with a Mojo sketch for you all. So here's the sketch for Mojo Monday Week #7. What do you think? Is it doable? It really fit with the card I was trying to make. If you find time and are feeling creative, have a go at the sketch and link me up in the comments. My inspiration for the card was really this fabulous paper from My Mind's Eye. It came in a paper pack called Out & About No. 1. I actually found 4 new gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper packs on my last visit to the LSS, so I went a little crazy. You can expect to see more MME in the coming weeks. I started by stamping the solid flower from Seasonal Circles in Cameo Coral on Very Vanilla. Next I stamped one of the flower centers from Fancy Florals in Ruby Red on each of the Seasonal Circles flowers. Then I stamped a different flower center from Fancy Florals randomly around the flowers in Old Olive to mimic the patterned paper. I then trimmed this panel, punched with the ticket corner punch and inked the edges with Close to Cocoa ink. For the sentiment circle I stamped the solid flower and then dotted around the edges of each petal with a Ruby Red marker. I used a Chocolate Chip marker to ink up just the Joy part of a sentiment from Winter Wonder and stamped in the center of the flower. This is punched out with a 1" circle punch and layered on a Cameo Coral Extra Jumbo Scallop Circle Punch and a Chocolate Chip Super Jumbo Scallop Circle punch. The bling is from Me & My Big Ideas and I added some American Crafts ribbon and some Stardust Stickles as accents. I also did a bit of paper piercing around the layers of the cards. Hi friends! It's already time for a new Mojo Monday sketch! The past few weeks have gone by in a flash! This will be the final Mojo Monday sketch of 2020, as I'll be taking a holiday break in December and the first part of January. As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on November 29, 2020. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. The sketch for this challenge is based off of this card I created during my time on the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen. It was my favorite card that month, and I still love it! I used some pearlized cream cardstock so it shimmers and created the background using the Texture Tiles 1 stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. (All background stamps are on SALE through 11/12!). After stamping the script background repeatedly in soft gray ink, I then added some Prima washi tape across the bottom, coloring in some of the butterflies with Zig clean color brush markers. Next I stamped the butterflies from Made New on the background and also on a separate piece of paper. I colored the butterflies with the same markers, then cut just the wings out and popped up over the background for a little dimension. The sentiment is from the Timeless Hymns set, and is stamped on a doily die cut. I stamped the same texture tile in the background, then splattered some black ink randomly all over my two stamped pieces. I decided I needed one more butterfly, so added the little one sitting on the sentiment, using the same technique as the other butterflies. I finished off with some antique linen ink around the edges, then a black mat and some shabby seam binding.
