Hi Crafty Friends, I made this delicate Fall wreath using two stamps from Forever Fern - This is a #simplestamping project - just stamps, ink & paper! First, create a mask by punching or die-cutting a 2" circle out of Full-Adhesive Post-It Notes. Stamp the leaf 4 times in each color as illustrated. I used Rich Razzleberry, Granny Apple Green & Pumpkin Pie. Add dots using Cinnamon Cider ink; remove Post-It and the wreath is ready to stamp your sentiment in the center. My sentiment is from a retired stamp set called One Big Meaning. Look closely - can you find the 3 In-Color Enamel Dots? I couldn't help myself, lol! Love my bling. I am loving the new scalloped tulle trim from the 2012 Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog, which comes in three gorgeous colors and is taking embellishing to a whole new level. Welcome to my blog. Today I want to share a technique that is an oldie but goodie. The wax paper resist technique. It works amazing with distress inks. This tutorial will be featured on the Distress Ink Technique page on facebook. I am one of the admins and we take turns to post a tutorial on there every monday, the technique of the week :-) Well let me explain this particular technique. You will need an old iron to do this technique, or one you don't use for your fancy clothes ;-) This is what you need: an old iron, two pieces of card, a piece of wax paper and an embossing folder. Oh and an embossing machine obviously lol. I dry embossed the sheet of wax paper using an embossing folder and a piece of card to add more pressure. Here you see the pattern embossed in the wax paper. I cover the front and back with my pieces of card stock, and put this sandwich inbetween two sheets of cheap copy paper. You iron over the cheap copy paper to get the wax to melt onto the card stock. It goes very quickly. I put my iron on the highest setting and just move it over the sheets a few times. You can barely see it, but the wax print is on there! Trust me ha ha ha. See, I told you it was there. Here you see the difference between the embossed and the debossed side of the wax paper imprint. Left is the embossed side and on the right the debossed side. I inked over it with stormy sky distress ink and an ink blending tool. I turned them into two christmas cards with some embellishments and stamped sentiment. I stuck the card onto a card blank after I trimmed it to size and inked the edges with some walnut stain distress ink. I had this ATC laying around for ages, so I decided to use it as a card topper. Then stamped my sentiment in black and after that completely dried, I stamped it again but with embossing ink and heat embossed it in silver. On this card I stamped the sentiment in archival ink and after it dried I wrapped some baker's twine around the card stock befor I stuck it to the card blank. I added a little red jingle bell to give it a more festive look. I painted a wooden snowflake silver and adorned it to my card and it is done! Hello, Blog Friends! Today I wanted to show you this cute card I made using Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker LLC paper ("Willow Bee" line), the cute bee cut from a Sizzlit die, with a bit of wobble added to the bee by a spring-based wobble. Because I wanted the bee to "pop" from the paper more than a traditional Action Wobbler, I developed a homemade wobbler using a spring and pieces of foam mounting tape and small pieces of acetate or tape to hold the spring to the underside of the foam (which has double-sided adhesive). Here is a video I made about this process. For those who'd prefer photos not videos, here are a few along with a little description of each: This is what a traditional (purchased) Action Wobble looks like. It has a plastic spiral between two flat, clear adhesive oblique-shaped pieces. They lie very flat (1/8" approx) so don't add much dimension to your card or project. I first tried making my own using 24 gauge wire that I twisted around a pencil, and mounted to foam mounting circles. I found the wire to be too stiff for a really "giggly" wobble. When I used beading wire, the wobbler moved sweetly! Cut a piece of beading wire about 6-7" long and wrap it around a tapered instrument, e.g., a paintbrush. Put the wire on one side of the foam mounting circle and cover it with a piece of acetate that has been hole-punched in the same size as your mounting foam. Cut a slit in your acetate to keep the wire in the center of your mounting foam. Here's the outside of the card. ...and the inside. I typeset the sentiment using Adobe Illustrator on my desktop computer, and printed it on the cardstock used for the card. The snip of a hive is from Nikki Sivils paper.
